I can't really laugh at this as a hobbyist programmer and mathematics reader. The point of math never was to be useful for getting friends, money, food, an entertainment job, or other life things. But, if you had an interesting job that allowed you to gain new perspectives on the universe and world, you would be using math. Instead your job involves people and money and talking. I would rather be studying the stars...

@DarthPickley man, I'm an IT-student. I mess around with mathematical problems each day. what jonsabbagh92 says, is somewhat true; if mankind didn't make fun of those things at least once in a while, we'd all go insane pretty fast. period.

and, by the way, you can't actually tell me you never looked at an equation & thought: "wow, dude, that's some pretty f*cked up mathematics."

I was never god in math because math had only one answer i love english being createive and haveing many answers i remeber those sin co sin and tangent. my least favorite teacher was my 11th grade english teacher he watched cnn and graded homework and that was it lol

Math is fun, deep, incredibly useful, and perhaps metaphysically significant! Pi is astounding and fascinating. I get the bitter satire here, but without math Mr. Pearson would lose:

His computer

YouTube to broadcast on

His automobile

Modern sanitation, relatively safe water, and vaccines

Air travel and air traffic control

Modern medical care, laser surgery, scans, etc.

electricity, thermostats, traffic lights etc. etc. etc.

Too bad about the unhappy experiences in math classes. I empathize. Lots of people have them, unfortunately. However, math is still absolutely beautiful and vital, and you there would be no YouTube, no computers, no internet, no telephone, no modern medicines, etc. without it. Long Live Trickynometry!
