Hello! Big thumbs up !! I subbed you. (: Would be please consider supporting me in starting my Metal Girls channel by subscribing? I added you to my favorites and playlist! Thank you so much!
the scale that most heavy metal guitarists uses for the soloing i believe kirk hammett uses it alot is the aoline mode or however the fuck you spell it i know 80's metal uses that scale alot in there solos
@Udontgetmymetal Not exactly, that would be a little different (like a passing note or in any case a bebopish scale). The harmonic minor is a dominant scale. You can throw it in whenever you want to increase the "tension" in your playing. Bear in mind this "tension" will gravitate towards the original eolic scale in the root of the harmonic minor (I dont have space to deepen into modulation, but it is interesting to know it may be used to dominate over other scales too).
If you cant make a full sick solo from this material given, theres something wrong with you. This video has just taken my guitar playing to a new level. Fully Eshay.
can someone help me. my guitar strings some are high.and some are low. i had the electric guitar since i was 13 im 19 now and i dont know what to do. i kind of gave it up but i wanna get bak into practising
@1992Manutdfan well the first thing you're gonna want to do is tune the guitar...
There are plenty of different tunings you can use, but you'll probably want to use simple standard tuning: from the first string(smallest) to the last string(largest) its tuned to e a d g b e. you'll know its right if you can make the same sound on an open string and the 5th fret on the string below, with the exception of the 4th fret on the 3rd string.
@Jlemay117 LTD is made and owned by ESP, it's cheaper brand for those who want ESSP quality for a lower price. If I'm not wrong that guitar is a modded LTD Alexi-200.
Great lesson and well explained. The thing I love about soloing with a delay effect is not only the depth it adds but it helps cover up if u make a slight mistake lol. Nice sound setup, it even sounds good on my blackberry. Thanks!
awesome lesson man i have the same problem as most self taught guitarists (following the pentatonic scale) and all my riffs were pure thrash but when it came to soloing it just sounded like clapton on speed lmao. killer lesson man thanks again
dude... thanks a lot, i play for five years and i never had a class, and something that was screwing me was that i could never make heavy metal solos the way i wanted (because i like to make solos in scales, like when i play blues my solos come all from the penthatonic)... Anyway, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
@GenNarwhal Haha I felt the same way. I had an acoustic first, before I could afford a good electric set up. It might seem boring at first, but you actually develop an appreciation for acoustic after. I suggest learning some blues on acoustic. That will really help you out later on.
What I did was learn classic rock and heavy metal songs on acoustic. A lot of metal or rock sounds good acoustically, so that could be an option, too.
