  • Great videos Bobby! I'm very glad you take your time to help other people. Keep up the good work. : )

  • whats all the strings tuned to?

  • @metalplayer21 Standard E

  • this is a harmonic scale

  • Comment removed

  • the anitation on 2:15 is wrong as it sayes

    2 3 5 6 8 10 11 13 15 17 18 and you sayed

    2 3 5 7 8 10 12 13 15 17 18 but still loved it and you have another sub :D

  • the scale that most heavy metal guitarists uses for the soloing i believe kirk hammett uses it alot is the aoline mode or however the fuck you spell it i know 80's metal uses that scale alot in there solos

  • that scale is very close to the byzantine scale :)

  • YJM must feel oh so proud about his beloved signature scale became the ALTERNATE name of HEAVY METAL! (AKA Harmonic MInor Music..form now on)

  • So can you throw this into the complete minor scale? As in add the 7th to the full scale

  • @Udontgetmymetal Not exactly, that would be a little different (like a passing note or in any case a bebopish scale). The harmonic minor is a dominant scale. You can throw it in whenever you want to increase the "tension" in your playing. Bear in mind this "tension" will gravitate towards the original eolic scale in the root of the harmonic minor (I dont have space to deepen into modulation, but it is interesting to know it may be used to dominate over other scales too).

  • youre great

  • If you cant make a full sick solo from this material given, theres something wrong with you. This video has just taken my guitar playing to a new level. Fully Eshay.

  • Whats the am setting and what guitar drop?

  • A "H" string? I think theres an error there

  • Would be much simpler if you had called the strings by their names EADGHE, it caused a lot of confusion to me.

  • @TheRiffCalendar Lol...

  • But...You such ROXX!!! Thanks for this video, guy, and please, continue to make cool lessons!

  • Fatal error! approximately 2:20 !! you play seventh fret, you say seventh fret, but you wrote sixth fret :)

  • In the second riff you missed 7 and 12 in the tabs

  • how the hell im supposed to achieve that speed with my fingers

  • god damn u hold the guitar wronge :)) but thx for the free lessons :D

  • The 34 people that dislike this.. are probably the ones that can't hack it..

  • first time I saw your face :)

  • Creeping death

  • That last exercise is harder than it seems. Nice lesson man, thanks!

  • You do good job Bobby !! :)

  • I want to rub your beard...

  • youtube needs move videos like this!! youtube should b paying this guy

  • can someone help me. my guitar strings some are high.and some are low. i had the electric guitar since i was 13 im 19 now and i dont know what to do. i kind of gave it up but i wanna get bak into practising

  • @1992Manutdfan well the first thing you're gonna want to do is tune the guitar...

There are plenty of different tunings you can use, but you'll probably want to use simple standard tuning: from the first string(smallest) to the last string(largest) its tuned to e a d g b e. you'll know its right if you can make the same sound on an open string and the 5th fret on the string below, with the exception of the 4th fret on the 3rd string.

    I hope this helps!

  • always enjoy your lessons, but the title says with tab. where do I find it?

  • @jburton0001 it's an annotation

  • the

  • wow thx for the awesome idea's :) very help full

  • you are one of the best guitar teachers on youtube i think

but the way you pull off the strings is false

  • LTD V?

  • @Jlemay117 no its alexi x00 idk what number belongs on the X spot but its on of the alexi laiho signature series if am not mistaken

  • @OdysseyToPurgatory

Alexi guitars are made by ESP well those are the ones I've seen.

  • @Jlemay117 LTD is made and owned by ESP, it's cheaper brand for those who want ESSP quality for a lower price. If I'm not wrong that guitar is a modded LTD Alexi-200.

  • @Jlemay117 LOl, sorry, you allready knew that, lol xD Sorry.

  • He's crispy...

  • HARMONIC MINOR!!! yes!! built for diminished and Turkish ^.^ hehehe

  • switch between 4 and 5 really fast to see him jack off

  • i have the same amp

  • isn't that guitar alexi 200?

  • @potatojuice321 Yeah :)

  • Great lesson and well explained. The thing I love about soloing with a delay effect is not only the depth it adds but it helps cover up if u make a slight mistake lol. Nice sound setup, it even sounds good on my blackberry. Thanks!

  • @LiquidOrgasm it is actually the tittle that pissed me off dude ! why is he not writting harmonic minor or something ? this is really basics !

  • awesome lesson man i have the same problem as most self taught guitarists (following the pentatonic scale) and all my riffs were pure thrash but when it came to soloing it just sounded like clapton on speed lmao. killer lesson man thanks again

  • ur a boss

  • You sound like Mr Lahey from The Trailer Park Boys lol

  • dude... thanks a lot, i play for five years and i never had a class, and something that was screwing me was that i could never make heavy metal solos the way i wanted (because i like to make solos in scales, like when i play blues my solos come all from the penthatonic)... Anyway, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome vid...thatnks for posting!

  • Holy shit, you're good.

  • This guy is terrible, I suggest nobody takes any advice from him. I'm really not being funny.

  • the V heavy metal scale V

  • Thx man, i've been looking for this so long and i found the right one THX MATE!

  • i know its better to learn acoustic first... but it kinda bores me and i cant find songs i like... any help?????

  • @GenNarwhal Haha I felt the same way. I had an acoustic first, before I could afford a good electric set up. It might seem boring at first, but you actually develop an appreciation for acoustic after. I suggest learning some blues on acoustic. That will really help you out later on.

What I did was learn classic rock and heavy metal songs on acoustic. A lot of metal or rock sounds good acoustically, so that could be an option, too.

  • @MeatMachineStudios thank you soo much! im subscribing... ur a good inspiration to play more:)

  • Bobby you are cool. Thx for these lessons. Theyre awesome :D

  • You rock bro. I'm going to be practicing to this for a few days. lol. Thanks man.

  • Hey Bobby, I've got a question. I been playin a long time. I usually play acoustic and sing. When palyin the dean ml, I've been playin blues so long....you know how it is...it's like a trap! Do you have any other suugestions about how to shift into a more "metal" or classical sound with my leads? I've always hated theory, but now kinda regret avoidind it. Thanks Bud- My email is injunjoe3172@yahoo.com...........Joe

  • 0:16 Dueces!(:

  • This is in standard tuning ?

  • Thanks man I'm a metal head that's just learning guitar solos what are some beginner scales that I need to learn (I want anyone to answer this)

  • THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME LESS GUITARTED!!

  • The only thing Ive been able to do was tap, i wrote a whole solo using this stuff. THANK YOU BobbyCrispy! Will be subscribing!

  • what guitar is this??

  • @MatKiller1197 esp ltd alexi 200

  • Thanks a lot Man!! YOur saving a lot of minds with your free Lessons, Really thanks alot!!

  • uh..your on screen example for the "Linear" movement on the B string shows one thing & you play that up to speed fine, but then you call out & are playing different frets.

You show "2,3,5,6,8,10,11,13,15,17,18" on your chart & you call out & your example slowed down you call out "2,3,5,7,8,10,12,13,15,17,18".

When teaching it's SO important to teach correctly or at least the something that doesn't contradict your chart & what you play at tempo.

  • @ZxE73 He obviously tabbed out the wrong numbers. Its quite clear what he does. You N00B

  • @jasedwads

    lmao jr. cute.

  • @ZxE73 Dude just watch the video and learn from what hes doing. If you cant learn what hes doing just from watching And complaining about shit you must suck. Then change it up and make it your style. these are pretty much examples to make things your own way.

  • Dude, how do you hold the guitar like that? Lol, when I play v's, I need to hold them up

  • BvBdemyx3 it's just standard tuning

  • BvB

  • this video is one of the best ive come across. if your someone who is/was looking to find out a strong grasp on putting cales into different soling riffs then this is the video for you. thanks a lot for the help man!

  • Awesome, You're a very good teacher.

  • I don't know but.. I didn't really like your tone or vibrato at all( i guess im a bit too rough). :/

    Good example of ex. though..

  • @thefreezingmoon1 you suck. if you dont like it, go away.

  • Fucking great!:D What happened to the neck pickup?:D Hah

  • Hey can you recommend me some equipments to get metallica tones?

  • Man.. Ive been playing metal for only 3 months and im actually pretty good. But My huge problem is speed picking. Like all those fast individual notes and triplets. Any tips?

  • this guy is so awesome! he's quite timid and quiet, and then when he starts playing he's a god! keep up the nice work man!

  • Your explanation is off. you say fret the 7th fret and the tab says 6th fret at 2:20?

  • Thank you! I knew there were more heavy metal scales! xD I know the basic ones but you demonstrated completely different types of heavy metal riffs!

  • I heard .. BarbieKrispy at 0:11

  • If anyone wants to know, the sharp 7 is used to reinforce the minor sound by making the seventh resolve to the root better.

  • voice does not match face
