  • As I was reading these comments by Mr. Dogsofwar, I was thinking "This guy must be about seven years old" . Proceed to check his page, yeah. So to you Mr. Dogsofwar, if being labelled as a homosexual in your eyes is the price I must pay for saying that October Sky is one of my favorite films BECAUSE of how it made me feel at the end, so be it. I hope as you grow up you get away from whatever social norm it is that makes you think having empathy is "gay" and profuse profanity is cool.

  • @austinSN It's also kind of scary that a little kid would even know that many words, even if he doesn't know how to use them properly in a sentence. haha

  • this is in the top five movies ever made ! inspirational!!!

  • Dogsofwar it's okay man...I know you wanna cry too....it's not your fault....

  • its amazing and you cant argue with that

  • Best. Movie. Ever.

    All arguers are tools...

  • hard to listen to this song this time around. i can't believe the shuttle program is coming to an end without a new program to replace it in the near future, with a new government policy in place that will leave US space flight to the private sector and a society which widely has forgotten the importance of space exploration.

  • @Flerndw2222 Very sad, this song should be played while looking at the gravestone "U.S.A. R.I.P." If we don't elect Ron Paul in the next election.

  • @NosoCOMINSOON I take it your a big supporter of legalized heroine and prostitution?

  • this is the song that plays in my head every single time i see the space shuttle about to blast off into the great beyond.

So farewell my flying space Cadillac. 130+ missions later and 128 successful flights and returns. We will forever miss the feeling of pride each of us felt as you ascended into the heavens on the behalf of all of humanity. the research and dedication of all your crew members has changed the face of humanity for the rest of our existence on this great planet we call...home

  • I saw this movie after a test in science class, thinking it was going to be very stupid. In the end i had to hold back tears when i heard this music. It's a beautiful movie with amazing music. It's such an inspiration :')

  • @blastingthumper1 wow your gay

  • @DogsOfWarfare6010 He has a gay? I think you mean "you're gay" as in "you are gay." Anyway, how does him tearing up at the end of this movie (very common, by the way) make him homosexual?

  • @frog1599 well its quite simple to say really. if you went to see marly and me in the thearter you can see that all of the WEMON cried. technicly that guy is gay if he cries at the end of a movie

  • @DogsOfWarfare6010 What's a WEMON? Do you mean WOMEN?

  • @frog1599 SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU CUM SIFINING BUTT DEMON I BET YOU DO BUKKAKE'S WITH LIKE 40 GUYS

  • @frog1599 Hey, geek ass faggot, shut the fuck up and go cry in a corner, cause that's where I fucked your mom at. So, don't talk to me until your balls drop, in that case. Have fun crying at the end of your faggot movies.

  • @DogsOfWarfare6010 I'm a smart bundle of sticks? Really? I don't get it.

  • Dude, don't even fucking argue, you're not going to win. It's obvious that since you're calling people gay or fags for crying after watching such a magnificent movie, that you yourself is questioning your sexuality. You're uncomfortable with it and then you go on here to show the internet that you want to fuck men since you're to scared to come out of the closet in the real world. Real men cry bro and women love that. So, if you think its gay to cry, then you have some issues with yourself.

  • @fokshill I concur :)

  • @frog1599 LOL he got bitched by me :) from hence forth his name shall be BITCH

  • @fokshill Here here!

  • @fokshill Hahahaha. He's calling himself 32. 32!!! If you watch his videos, he's clearly more like 13.

  • @DogsOfWarfare6010 And the fact that you haven't replied to any of these yet just further shows how you feel humiliated that you said such rediculous and false things and that you feel that you have lost. Plus, the word "sifining" isn't a real word. If you were trying to use it as a verb, it should have been "cum-sifining" (with a hyphen. And you do know that "bukkake" is a Japanese method of serving various types of noodles, right? So you're saying that I serve noodles with like 40 guys?

  • @DogsOfWarfare6010 Wow, you misspelled "technically." Seriously? Do you have a 1st grade level of grammar and vocabulary education? And you misspelled "women" and "Marley" and "it's" and "theater" and "Marley and Me" should be in quotes because it is the title of a movie. SERIOUSLY?

  • At the expense of sounding cheesy, this film was made for dreamers. Real dreamers.

  • When a movie ends and you find yourself turning off the television and pausing to think, "wow, that was great", you know you've seen an absolute masterpiece. Altogether, an exceptionally well-written piece. Mark Isham is an unbelievable composer. His soundtracks seem to shock me every time.

  • I watched this today in math class, BEST movie.. my math teacher and i were crying at the end.. i suggest EVERYONE should buy the movie. great inspiring movie..I MAYBE wrong.. but this proves that if you want to be better go out there and do it.. and keep succeeding but it also takes math at some point to succeed it well.. BEST MOVIE EVER!

  • to be honest, i thought this movie was slightly cheesy, but the book was downright amazing

  • One person hates freedom

  • Where did you find this music? I cant find it anywhere

  • The best movie ever made, everything about it was so amazing, so inspiring, and thanks for uploading this theme music, loved it :)

  • Anyone notice how the shuttle in the photo is slowly zooming in? Haha.

  • Most moving orchestral piece I have ever heard.

  • When I'm down I find myself whistling the tune that reminds me of the movie. It was like reliving my youth. The fights with my dad, the feelings for my science teacher, the many rockets we made and blew up...one at home in my mom's kitchen that grounded me for ages. Every few weeks now I watch it in rememberance of my parents and for motivation to continue our present rocket project, more than fifty years after my first as a "California" Rocket Boy.

  • Homer Hickam... A mark in history bring America and Earth into the so called " Space Stage " In man kind ;P You will never be forgotten Homer! We will love ye! Although he is... Still alive >_>

  • October Sky, Men of Honor, and A Knights Tale are my top three faovrite movies of all time. But, between them, I must say that I am a rocket man more than anything. October Sky is my MOST favorite of all.

  • je ne connais pas le film

mais la musique donne avis de le connaitre

je l'ai découverte dans une partition de trompette

    que je parviens à jouer

    très mélodique

  • Makes me thankful that I recieved a bachelors in Aerospace Engineering and although I'm currently working on Jet Propulsions for Aircraft Carrier jets (Cause I'm a civilian engineer whos permanetly employed by the Department of Defense) I am also certified Astronautical Engineer. (Which deals with aircraft that work outside the earths atomosphere) infact it's my specialty...but I don't work for NASA...yet. I do have an internship there though once I recieve my masters. Currently have a bachelors

  • @TheTrueUSPatriot God Bless you and yours Sir ! cplusmc7377

  • Inspiring

  • This movie should be in the national archive for cultural significance. Seriously.

  • @smsteve888 I could not agree more!

  • @smsteve888 I COMPLETELY agree.

  • amo la pelicula el tema y la historia es inspiradora.

  • i have seen this movie at least 70 times to the point where i used to lie and bed and recite the first hour of dialogue in the movie...you could call it an obsession. the book is good too

  • @badgerfootball49

You could call it an obsession, yeah :P

  • makes me want to look at the stars and planets at night when I ever hear this...

I must buy the soundtrack then put it in my ipod then look at the sky with full of stars with my dad the astronomer :)

  • agree whit you ; )

  • @ekty omg for sure a FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Webelo88 If you enjoyed this movie, I recommend Life as a house. Most the time, Movies likes these are completely ignored because a huge Video release comes out. It makes the movie all the better.

  • @Webelo88 Im in love with it.

  • LOVE IT!

  • Great movie. You always know if it's a great movie and music if it pierces through to your heart and moves your soul.

If you like inspirational movies like this where the protagonist achieves his goal despite all the setbacks, you should read The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich. It shows you the natural process of goal achievement and once you read it and watch this movie again, you'll see how Homer used it to naturally achieve his goal. You'll even see that you used it too.

  • This song always touches my soul, no matter where or when I hear it. Just so beautiful.

  • wonderful music, wonderful movie, 10/5

best movie I ever seen in my life

  • The best movie I've ever seen. It maks you want to get out there and do something amazing...I lifted my spirit up when I watched it at school! I want to get the DVD so badly! I love this song too.

  • "Look at it go Homer. This one is going for miles." 5/5 this movie is probably one of the best ever made.

  • werner von braun may be a great scientist but he sure isn't my hero.

  • this is one of my dads favorite movie. he always tears up at the end. but me and him are building a rocket to launch in the chesapeake bay. an i told him i want this song in the background when we launch it.

  • I love this movie, it's one of those movies that I watch when i'm discouraged and need a little bit of a boost of my spirit. The music alone is beautiful and haunting, inspirational in its somber and resolute tone...it truely captures the spirit of the rocket boys, especially Homer's, in his pursuit of building rockets, going to college and eventually working for NASA. One of the best movies, and soundtracks ever made in my opinion.

  • una de las mejores peliculas que eh visto!!! y lindo tema musical....

  • I love the song and the movie. Both are epic.

  • i just saw the movie for the nth time. it makes you wanna cry. so inspiring and it's great how they show the success of the Rocket Boys' lives at the end of the movie.

  • this movie was great brings a tear at the end ;)

  • *tear tear* yea just finished watching it for the 7th time. (yes i counted).

  • every time...when he and his dad watch there last rocket fly in the sky.....i cant help but have my lip quiver and let a tear fall

  • I must say, the last scene both moves me and my father, such an inspiring story. Great movie and music. Thanks

  • First time i saw this movie, over 5 years ago, and still cant forget it. 1 of the best movies starring Jake ill ever see. 5* hands down. Movie perfection.

  • Every time I hear this music from the movie it reminds me of President Kennedy's Speech about putting a man on the moon and returning him safely to earth.

  • This movie is one of the best I have ever seen. The theme makes me cry every time I see that rocket sore upward.

  • this is a really good video. ihave seen the movie twice

  • Emotionally and a conceptual connection in this peace. It allows the thought to all that one day the sun will arise from the dusk and all problems will be resolved. Amazing what one song can do

  • I love this movie :] And this theme song :] I was the only one in my Math class that enjoyed the movie :]] The rest thought it was boring for some reason :[

    Thanks for posting this :]]

  • Unfortunately, it's like that all over this land. But that's all-right. The rest of us understand. There's only a few of us. We will keep these things alive within us forever. Holding on to the words that are dear to our hearts. Searching for our people. Andrew 45

  • An amazing film with a soundtrack that stays with you. Haunting and beautiful and intelligent. Thank you for posting.

  • one of my favorite songs of all time. gives me the chills.

  • Watched this on AMC earlier this week

    Awesome movie

  • A slideshow or real video with scenes from the movie October Sky WOULD make this video so much better. But the music alone gives it plenty of heart. It's sad, joyful, and inspiring all at once. It's hard not to cry to when you listen to it.

  • Yes, pictures or even silent video from the movie would've been, simply awe-inspiring.

  • great video. awesome sound. but u should of used pictures from the movie

  • So beautiful. One of the most inspiring movies ever created. Thank you for posting.

  • Excellent piece of music

  • I actually went to Coalwood West Virginia a few years back as part of my holidays. I was very Inspired by this story onrf my favourites

  • 1:50-2:00 was the best part!

  • This is one of my favorite composed musical pieces from film. Its very hard to find composed soundtracks that aren't released. However, I was able to download a smaller version of this. It really gets me to thinking about how short life is, and to take advantage of your life. Do what you "REALLY" want. Don't allow yourself to throw it all away. Be like Homer. I was like that...until...I found out I needed a co-signer for my school loans. I've searched everywhere, and can't find one.

  • great music, love the movie, where did u find the pic?

  • i got it from one of those web pages whit pictures of the nasa space shuttle program.
