@Jean1juan He is in half step down capo 2 playing chord shapes in the key of G. The strum at those times is a palm mute exciting the 4th beat. The Guitar itself seems to be a Taylor guitar with a Spruce top and ovangkol back and sides. The same wood combination as the 400 series today but seeing how the guitar has a Fishman preamp I would guess this Taylor was definitely before 2007's remodeling. Hope this possibly helped ^_^
@ThisAZNKyd Or the top might be cedar from it's tint but idk since the bare part under the soundhole is light like spruce. The sides/back might be mahogany but I can't say for sure, I'm definitely no expert. ;P
Love this song.. thats our life here on earth struggle , pain, valleys and peaks. But we Christians have a better hope. So, just look at it like this way.This is possibly the worst it will get while in these earthly bodies...But the hope of eternity is forever..!!Keep the faith! Praise God!

I really really love this acoustic version..I love the way he strummed it.
I'm curious how is he doing those strums.
Anyone know?

@sephmarasigan Palm-muted 1/8 note downstrokes. You see some non-palm-muted 1/8 strumming during the build-up @ 2:51. :)

Great Song. It says a lot when you strip away all orchestration and the song's message still hits loud and clear.
