  • yay no drips!

  • Great Radio station!

  • Wow there must be a world full of people that know exactly how to build a cabin. JME could out build any of you people that thinks he doesn't know what he is doing. He is a freaking engineer after all. Lets see all of the perfect cabins you have built. I bet not cause you suck. JME could probably do every thing you people do a million time better no matter what. Check out his channel, you'll see.

  • Damn a bic!! Flint and steel. When you need RELIABLE fire startiing!!!!

  • Maybe a stupid question, but is that a normal cell phone she's using? Do you have coverage there?

  • Gosh, I could say so much about the mistakes made but the door brace is all backwards. Good news though, it should outlast the cabin, I'm guessing a year beyond the cabin, 3 years total. Great work though. As long as you poked Ellen and Kimberly, you should be happy.

  • you can make a shelf up in the roof whit batteries and then solar pannels on the top !

  • Not bad, but um, why did you buy, or at least make a ladder?

  • What a bunch of dumb fucks, a plywood and tin roof on a log cabin, and have to hold off working till someone gets off the phone- classic that just sums it all up. Complete morons.

  • @guitarraveboy

    Lets see your log cabin....

  • @guitarraveboy lets see what you've done, do you even think you could build one half as good? guitarraveboy dot dot dot lol?

  • LEDGE AND BRACE DOOR !

  • Pretty awesome cabin dude! I hope you got paid with something for all that work you did.

  • I would have thought it would have been a good idea to put down a thin foam insulation across the plywood before putting on the sheet metal

  • Diagonal bracing on a wood door should run up from the door hinge. This arrangement is better at reducing door sag.

  • man, is this guy ever serious, it gets annoying, poor ellen, you know hes not tapping that ass...

  • ok now lets go shot a bearrrr!!! lol nice

  • Should the door open out and not in ? I think if a big hungry bear pushed in it might just give way and cuddle up with you and give you some big bear lovin.

My cabin the door would open out but thats just me. Not much into bear lovin.

  • Simply Awesome JOB ! u did it so fast and efficient. Think it could work in northern Alberta?

  • at first the guy comes across as a total goofball........ but gota give him props has some really good carpentry skills i think

  • 6:30 cant beat the Allman bros and the great out of doors.

  • is this going to be lived in year round or just a retreat for a few weekends a year?

  • Hmm... you'd have to ask Ellen. "edjorg". So far she's just visiting there, but she might retire and hang out for longer periods of time. I dunno. :-P There is a little community of people who live out there, though.

  • Oh, I just thought of another one heh heh. "CHAINSAW BRAIN SURGEON" Well actually I meant that You're using that chainsaw like it's a scalpel, but now that I think of it, I think "Chainsaw Brain Surgery" as a competitive sport sounds pretty funny too.. Hah, I amuse even Myself. Take care Man.

  • "CHAINSAW SAMURAI" at 1:15.

  • you should ask Ellen how her cabin is doing now, and if she could send pictures of it!

  • how many chainsaw blades did you go through in the entire cabin makeing process

  • I didn't use any chainsaw blades up. I did hit a nail once, and switched to the other chainsaw blade we had there. ....because I didn't have time to resharpen it. ...but its still fine.

  • Ellen's cabin is super turbo excellent. I wonder how much snow is there right now, maybe Kimberly could could take a picture.

  • Kimberly left! ha ha. ...had enough winter I spose.

Did Ellen put up her cabin video again?

  • no, I think she forgot or got lost or went awol

  • I would love to meet you all someday :-)

  • Just win the lottary and buy an island that we can all move to! :-P

I dunno.... we're a bunch of weirdos. ha ha

  • lol yeah right... lottery, island ha ha.

  • aw darn! That almost worked. :-P

  • gosh darn it, i want spray foam! where's the spray foam!?

  • lol

  • mmmm, spray foam. I want like 500 cans!

  • hey nice work! those vertical posts need some diagonal bracing or additional framing and plywood sheathing to fill in between post and window/door openings. snow load and wind can exert serious pressures on structures like this. nice adventure!

    paul....

  • allman brothers! nice

  • This is SO AWESOME! I just watched all the cabin videos and I can't wait for the next part. There IS going to be a next part, right?? :D

  • Oh, ya. I'm working on the next part right now. :-) I think there's one... or maybe 2 more.

  • Yay!! :D

  • 'You ready?'

so pick up the stove on "one"? hehe

  • ya. sometimes one is sufficient ;-)

  • That's one sexy chimney you've got there :U

  • heh heh. Thanks. I'm often complimented on my big pipe.

err... did that come out right?

  • Ha! The secret's out now!

  • nice job!

  • put a front porch on it!!

  • Yeah, definitely. Otherwise the snow is going to slide off the roof and land on the front steps (when I get around to building some).

  • nice cabin. are you going to live there full time?

  • Yes, when they bomb NYC. Seriously, I don't know. I just like to keep all my options open in life, ya know? Although it would need lots more insulation to make it weathertight for the -50F winters in McCarthy.

  • hey watch the story of Dick Proenneke hes my hero. youtube him, he had a cabin like that one

  • Yeah, I watched his film of building his cabin right before we went up. I don't think I could live alone for years like that though, but he seemed really happy. I opted for a stove rather than fireplace because he was comfortable at 40F whereas I like it warmer inside! He also was on a gravel lake shore which means no permafrost, so he had a gravel floor rather than going up on posts like me. His woodworking skills were amazing. Someday I want to build another cabin with only an axe.

  • yeah he was cool he made visits back to his family from time to time and when he died he when home to his family

  • Is that what you're gonna do at my place? :-D

  • Don't think I'm serious? Watch me. :-P

  • My 28" Fiskars axe is being delivered today!

  • OH! Nice Axe! :-P I've been seriously abusing mine.

  • Great job!!

I would love to build cabins and giant robots... but I don't have the time, space or resourses :(

  • Same, also I got this mean mother wich wont allow me to do anything >:-|.

  • Hooray for big pointy sticks.

  • mean mother, eh? Sounds terrible! Tell her to stop being so silly!

  • liar.

  • did you watch my firewood video ??

  • no! I just got online. I'm gonna go check it out.

  • Cool,Jamie if I had enough money to give; I would hire you to build me or or help me build one.

  • Sweet. Ya, it was a pretty fun project. I still don't know why I love building so much. :-)

  • If you're anything like me, it's the joy of creation. To look at a thing and say 'I made that. It was an idea that I formed myself in my own head, i built it with my own hands, and it's really good', that's one of the biggest joys in life. Being proud of something that you brought into existence, like your child.

    Plus chainsaws are awesome.

  • Ya. I'd take a kid over a chainsaw, though. :-P They take less gas. In fact they make it! haa haa haa

  • Sweet! So excited to see 2 new vids!

  • HA! First comment. So there! :-D

  • As a five-year-old I once knew used to say:

    Poopie on your buttface!

  • AAAUUUGH! poopoos in your stinky hair!

  • Man, have we regressed or what?
