Novak always looked the same and spoke the same in any picture. She was not versitile in any of them. She was no actress. ..She projected the sultry image, but didnt quite make it. I remember only "Vertigo" and that was because the great Jimmy Stewart carried the film.

Contrary to what some folks think, I love the music from the video. Loved the movie, and I loved Kim in it. Not a downer at all. Perhaps they would have prefered some cheerful hillbilly music or some bump and grind from Lady Gaga. Of course, the guy who did the VERTIGO soundtrack also did THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, the original version. He was intense.

Yes, it would be a smashing box office draw if Kim Novak did another film! She has been so individualistic she could play a rather revolutionary role very successfully. However, she enjoys and evidently prefers life in the country rural areas so to be couped up in a city filming would be a sacrifice on her part, to some extent, but would surely be worth the effort for the fans and public. She's been crowned with the best music, Bernard Herrman's, so a soundtrack would be tough to equal up to.

When she lived up in Chiloquin, OR., my father put in her and her husband's furnace. I was only 3 or 4 years old at the time and even got to go up there with my family and ate lunch in her dining room. This was around 1983 or 1984. Unfortunately, I never got to meet her in person. Later on, in the 1990s, she came by our house and Mom visited with her (as she got to several times) and even though she never met me in person, she remembered her husband talking about me and even asked about me!

She was also wonderful in Jeanne Eagles, a film everyone seems to have hated at the time and is rarely shown now. She has 2 extraordinary scenes...the drunk scene and the final "silent " movie suicide scene. Recently saw it and was in awe of her performance. I'm about 10 years younger than Kim and I always looked a little like her and tried to play up that aspect. This clip was interesting to see how she aged as I compare it to my own aging. Wow, makes me not feel so bad. It gets harder to stay "beautiful" as we age but we still try ...at least we try when we feel like it or go out in public.
