  • when it come down to it it's you and the machine. 40kg of crap on ya back and a fricken great rag to pull up. The glider came up wrong. Pilot did not correct this and put the power on instead of aborting.

This guy just got it wrong. Simple. The instructor can only do so much them it's up to the pilot to do it right. All the kiting practice in the world won't stop this happening and anyone that has ever flown PPG will know this

  • Student has absolutely no kiting skills. Instructor endangered students life by not teaching vital skills. Why does the sport continue to maintain such incompetent instructors?

  • Many causes but a classical case of trying to sit too early while he was just regaining control. This is part of the learning curve which he must have passed by this time.

  • Another thing to mention - don't start giving it a ton of power until you know your wing is flying straight and your ready to go under neath it.

  • Instrutor de merda e isso que acontese faz uma onda para tomar dinheiro do aluno e não encina bosta nenhuma...... Acorda povo

  • jurulatih koyo ndog

  • Why did you use AF on this great cam?

  • Motor torquing too much 2:24 causing wing to turn suggesting harness is not effective or wrong size or poorly adjusted, pilot has absolutely no idea what the wing is doing, no wind, motor looks underpowered, its stupid to use carbon props for beginners, student is not running straight, instructor should have aborted the take off attempt after the wing heads off in wrong direction and pilot does not react/respond at all... time to to look for a different school folks!

  • Design looks wonky in the prop damage dept. Why can't the ring extend back a few more inches?

  • ...this happen if you do not control your left arm!!!

  • Hello boys cool video check me webside wwwparamotornorwaycom se you

  • Know the wind direction before you Takeoff!

let the wind faces you, not your side!

  • tools

  • i can only feel sorry for him i know what its like! first few launches, with your heart racing and a lot going on, so little time to react, hope this never put him off. happy landings, robin

  • ty for putting it up...we've all been there and some still are. we learn from these and these vids make us or should make us all better

  • a lot of armchair instructors eager to give their opinion here! Maybe the instructor taught this guy everything but the guy didn't follow the what he'd been taught - it happens. Thanks for shraing the video Geoff!

  • I'm stunned at the comments lol. Hands up??!! How the heck do you control the glider if your hands are up? Do you teach people to drive cars by telling them "hands off the wheel"!!?? The problem is they never taught him to properly control the glider. Learn how to control the glider BEFORE you get hooked up to launch and you won't have these issues. I can't believe people are actually saying "hands up". That is obsurd.

  • 1. Never looked up to check his wing once i came up

    2. As Tfeller said, newbies should be taught to keep the hands up

    3. Don't stop running

    4. Dont attempt take off when wing is oscillating, but it is tough to know if you haven't checked he wing or can't feel it through the risers.

    5. As simusfr said, run upright, otherwise thrust is pushing you down

  • 3 mistakes dude. The forst is obvious : you applied too much braking. The second is that you should've centered under your wing. You just got spinned to your left by your wing. Third is a problem I see everywhere in your videos but no one gets it. Instructors must be very incompetent. You are leaning forward which is a very unefficient way to run. Try to lean backwards as if you were laying on your engine's thrust. You will shorten your take off distance by 3.

  • poor instruction .

  • Hands, Hands, Hands ...... I see this all the time. Hands must be up! not forward, or pulling break, but up! Good begining .... Thanks for sharing this video

  • why do people start their training with a heft paramotor strapped to their backs? Surely it's safer and easier to learn to control the wing without a motor first?

  • JUST BUY A REFLEX WING!!!!!

  • @dimitrisflyman Nope. reflex wings shouldn't replace a lack in your instruction. Better do it good with a classic wing then go for reflex ...

  • One of the biggest causes of prop strikes is the pilot thinking it's ok to stop running before it actually is. Keep running! :)

  • jajaja o sea??? penso que corriendo se despega!! que estudie aerodinamica antes:P

  • I did it 3 times !!! 300 USD Prop and cage

Now, I have a trie ! No more prob

    VERY NICE vid !!! Thanks.

  • I broke a couple props myself, that's why I would recomend you start with some cheap wooden props in case something like this happens again. Those composite props well too expensive for first flights, take care.

  • At first I thought that was Putin. lol

  • BEM ISSO ACONTECE,, NORMAL..

  • just had the same happen to me yesterday, nice Vid

  • Good job >

  • I can think of a paramotor that's stronger, only weighs a kilo more and has 40 % more thrust to easily get that chap off the ground without mishap. A little dearer to buy but MUCH cheaper to run. I am glad to hear he got up successfully the next time though. Well done.

  • i like the camera work!
