  • nice shocks!

  • Doesn't this just give you longer run time? I don't think it makes it any faster.

  • I think your tires ar on backwards... the V-shapes would cup the dirt/marterial you run on... correct me if im wrong

  • @SUBLIMEBANDRULES Yh, I don't really care. If its not broken don't fix it.

  • @dano2website I guess so? If you don't want it to run as good as it can. Have fun!

  • @SUBLIMEBANDRULES Oh i will ;)

  • Sorry for bad english

  • Sorry, can i do this with my stock rustler and 2 8.4 volt 3000mah traxxas battery's ? And can it blow up my esc of motor?

  • @wouterbrent Yes u can but use a PARELELL connector series will blow that shit up!

  • Can do this with mij

  • I dont get that car at all, i just dont get your reasoning ..... how do you drive it if there are no shocks, you would just be draging your ass everywhere you go, plus your wheels are at a very strange angle, how can you turn right or even drive straight ???????????

  • @traxxasdriver49 I always dissemble my cars when i work n them. With no shocks the body can lie flat on the table i was working on making it much easier to work.

  • @dano2website o I see, sorry about that man, didnt realise thats what you did :P

  • @traxxasdriver49 Its all good xD

  • is that a bandit or a rustler

  • @777jkirby Its a bandirustipede xD

  • You would need a series wire harness to achieve 16.8V from two 8.4V batteries. With parallel wiring you get double the mah rating, not voltage.

  • i did this and it goes faster but will this ruin my motor?

  • I would like to run mu traxxas rustler vxl on 2 11.1v 5000mha 3s lipo can the esc handle it?

  • @rustlerracer13 no you can not run two 3s lipos with any traxxas esc unless it is on parallel if it is not parallel it will end up frying

  • @davidsrcs can you run two 7 cells with out frying it?

  • @vLuminosity not if you use parallel

  • i have a 8000 mah 12 volt battery in my rc car is that good?

  • @RokinRonanProduction Yh thats good 12 volts isnt standard tho

  • @dano2website ok thx i dont really know much about rc cars... All i know about mine is that its VERY fast and it drains the battery in about 2 minutes from a 6 hour charge (It says on the charger "Charge For 4-6 Hours")

  • wat is the max mah and amp for 2 nimh for my bone stock rustler brushed please reply!

  • @yoyoairsoft1411564 idk about amp but mah would be 6000mah

  • @davidsrcs and its volt and do i have to upgrade anything?

  • @yoyoairsoft1411564 no not that i know of? but if you went parrallel the voltage would be the same but the mah would be doubled

  • paralell connectors double runtime, they dont increase speed. might give a little more punch off the start, but they dont increase speed, just runtime. Series connectors increase the speed, not paralell

  • @wjw3306 Yes but nimh batteries have a power curve so you would get a lot more power with parelell.

  • could i do Dual 2s 5000 mah?

  • @zanrath12345

    Yes, you can

  • @dano2website by the way it is a vxl system im using, U i only thought it could go 2s but thanks!

  • @zanrath12345 Use parelell, parelell doubles mah or runtime not vlotage. If u use series it would frie the esc

  • @dano2website ok cool

  • Is it faster? Sure, it is. Is it balanced? Not at all.

  • ur center of gravitty would be bad do u roll a lot with a battery like that

  • might want to explain that if you goof up and put two batteries in "series" instead of in "parallel" you will smoke your electronics. if you blew your shocks, i doubt it was because the size of the track, it was probably that ton of extra weight from the second battery smashing and crashing up and down

  • the rubber bands suck if u tend to flip ur car alot

  • ghetto

  • @dglewis89 ummmm. . . . . . . thats kinda random

  • @dano2website Rubber bands to keep the shell on? Definitely ghetto.

  • @dglewis89 rubber bands to hold your battery and body down, that's pretty ghetto if you ask me.

  • i like the idea but i think it would easier to get 5000mah or higher battery then you dont have to mess with the rubber bands also it would be lighter and only have to charger one battery my opinon

  • @visker96 Yes it would be a better idea to get a battery like that but this is an idea for somebody who already has 2kmah batteries. Anyway a 5kmah is more exspensive than lipos so if you get where im going either cheap nimh like this or lipo is where i would go. And by lipo i mean chinese made cheap ones no expensive brand name ones.

  • Where are your shocks??

  • @Thom4ik97 I took em off, this is after a race on a 1.8 scale course with a 1.10 truck so i blew the shocks lol.

  • thanks ill try to do that but it told me i could use a file to convert to a youtube upload and it said that it uploaded but it just said zero seconds. it sucks.

  • @rustlerpro11 uh theres no youtube upload file, youtube supports a variety of files try converting yours to mp4.

  • dude i asked my lhs if this was safe and they said dont do this because the velineon system can only handle 11.1 volts. anything over that will blow up ur esc. DONT DO THIS!!!!

  • @reidairsofter Yes DONT USE SERIES your lhs was right but they meant don't use series connectors because they double the voltage. I specifically state to use a parallel connector which doesn't do anything to the voltage making it fine for the esc.

  • ok tks

  • what about the xl-5 would it still be safe?

  • @ima14yearoldmechanic Yes just don't use series connector only use parelell

  • Nice job on upgrade but please take those stupid revo tires off your destroying your drivetrain!

  • @6969mayhem Their not Revo their half the size being stampede tires.

  • yeah but i dont know how to convert from file to youtube

  • @rustlerpro11 there is no such thing as a youtube file but use freemake to convert videos

  • this would work for a stampede if you just piled the batterys on top of eachother and rubberbanding them im doing it to mine.

  • @ima14yearoldmechanic Yes that works but putting two batteries next to each other causes unnecessary heat so be careful.

  • @ima14yearoldmechanic ok thanks im not going to run it that long to prevent heating to much.

  • hey do u think this coukd work on traxxas slash 2wd tks

  • @funwawmods Probably, they already can fit 7-cell flat so you wouldn't have to mod that and there's a lot of space for another one so im sure you could find a way to fit another.

  • dude thats awso,e but geto lol nice job

  • @funwawmods Geto?

  • my name is r tard and i dont have shocks on my car WTH man?

  • @RPRacing8 This was shot right after a race were i blew a rear shock so i took em all off. OBVIOUSLY i didn't drive it without the shocks that it was just like that when i was waiting for my big bores which have yet to fail on me.

  • i wouldbut my chassis is too cut up to lift it but i will do a video but my flip doesnt let me upload to youtube. if u know how to upload from flip to youtube please help me

  • @rustlerpro11 Doesn't it have a usb coming out of it?

  • sorry bro i forgot it was a rustler body. but what u could also do is lift the esc mount . ill upload a vid on my rusty so u can see what i did

  • @rustlerpro11 Yes you can lift it, and post your video as a video response to this, im sure others would like to see it.

  • You can also do spacers under the mount and mount the esc on the side and extend the pin holders for the battery tray and run duals with 2 stacked batteries

  • @rustlerpro11 yes but 2 batteries on top of each other causes too much heat. Also putting an esc on the side is risking destroying it in a crash so i would highly discourage that.

  • This will work on most cars right?

  • @burtonloco1 All cars with a very similar chasis like most buggies but not any other cars. However all cars can use dual batteries with a parallel connector but you'll have to fins the spot for the second battery.

  • wouldnt the extra voltage fry the esc on xl-5?

  • @jakejames5150 With a parallel connector it just doubles the mah but doesn't effect the voltage in any way. Since nimh's lose power over the session double nimh gives a lot more power

  • I think im going to keep my bandit with one battery. i tested it out and its the same speed and i get the same runtime. I think all it did for me is just unballence it make it more heavy. and make it not so much fun jumping. good experimenting though. Can you parellel charge a battery. I bought both. a parellel and a series.

  • @KTMBOY1112 Well, you can't use a series connector. Maybe it was a problem with your batteries but whatever it doesn't work for everyone but the logic is that nimh's lose power over the run time so with two you get a longer amount of peak power and longer run time.

  • Thanks man I really appreciate the quick reply! I shall be getting my dtx 7 cell 8.4v 4600mah tomorrow

  • @Evanwright10 Great! Tell me how it works out for you! :)

  • Thanks man really appreciate the fast reply! I shall be getting my dtx 7 cell 8.4v 4600 tomorrow

  • can i run 2 batteries with different mah's on a parallel connector?

  • @Evanwright10 Yes, lets say you have 2 7-cell nimh and ones 3k mah and ones 4k mah than with a parallel connector it would a 7-cell nimh with 7k mah. Enjoy :)

  • You do not need to have a stick and a hump. you can i have 2 humps and not have to mod your chassis. put a hump in there regularly and just put another humps to the side reversed from what he has it.

  • @KTMBOY1112 Yes you can so that but if you have the hump facing in than the battery will be slanted out making it more likely to fall out. If the hump is facing out than it would very hard to fit on the body but still doable just remember to put rubber bands over the body and it should be fine.

  • @KTMBOY1112 Yes you can so that but if you have the hump facing in than the battery will be slanted out making it more likely to fall out. If the hump is facing out than it would very hard to fit on the body but still doable just remember to put rubber bands over the body and it should be fine.

  • @dano2website I have Heavy Duty Velcro for the battery and the body. so i don't think i'll have any problems. I'll tell you what they are if i do ok.

  • @KTMBOY1112 Great! everything should work out fine just if you plan on using a body rubber band it down to keep it on and to lessen wind resistance.

  • can you do it with lipos

  • @coleryanvivian Yes, depending on the size of the lipo. Really big ones wont work.

  • u going to mess it up man that is 14 cells you aint supost to run that miny man u can run 8 cell and thats it i think but ya if you wantt faster just get a darn lipo

  • @coleryanvivian Yes, you will mess it up if you use a series connector which would make it 14cells but a parallel connector just doubles the mah so two 7cell 3000mah batteries with paeallel equal one 7cell with 6000mah. since nimh batteries have a power curve this makes the vehicle faster for free since you can make a parallel connector with just spare wiring.

  • Nice video, but have you considered the weight imbalance? You should put the batteries on the sides and leave the center open.

  • @IowaCoffee Yes, it does create a little weight imbalance. You can move the receiver right next to the esc and put a battery on each side but that takes modding the chassis. I just thought that this was the easiest way to do it and this doesn't damage the car but if you can move your receiver than that's a great idea to have a battery on each side balancing the weight.

  • Your body is sexy, also thanks. helps me alot.

  • @KTMBOY1112 Your Welcome! And yes it is sexy, lol

  • so i can put 2 lipo,s in parallel without killing them

  • @PSPENZO1 Yes, as long as one lipo works 2 lipos parelel will work fine but watch the motor temps cause the this will lengthen your run times and the longer the runs the hotter the motor gets but if you monitor every 5mins u should be fine.

  • @dano2website thanks, but i think the temps will be fine (i have a electronic speed conroler for brusless with anti overheed protection (brussles car)

  • @PSPENZO1 Awesome! Enjoy the mod. :)

  • why did you put talons on there and take off the shocks? With talons on a rustler you'll be going through driveshafts like nothing and no shocks well i think we're on the same page

  • @zanrath12345 I took off the shocks to make it easier to make the video and show everything. I don't know why you think i would drive it without shocks. And Fyi i have been using Talons on these for a year and haven't gone through any driveshafts and i don't see why i would since this is just a Low center of gravity Stampede.

  • @dano2website really? Because the guy at my local hobby shop "W Hobbies" he said that His friends had Put Talon's on the rustler and they broke there drive shaft the second they took off and he had tried and switch the gearing to 9t pinion over 92 spur and he still broke them. :S

  • @zanrath12345 Well changing the gear won't do anything i'd think it would be a problem with the actual car or in the transmission. Also mine has steel yokes so that might play into the factor that it hasn't broken. And i know people who have put on big e-revo tire (double size of talons with same tread) and had no shaft problems with their rustler.

  • @dano2website Oh dang, Errggg I wanted those but he said i shouldn't do it ;P!!!1!

yea I've been wanting to put those on my rustler but he said it would snap the drive shaft but idk

  • @zanrath12345 yh, talons aren't that great though except for style and wear and big revo tires are beast lol

  • where did you get the spoiler and how much was it?

  • @traxxas1011990

Umm, theres no spoiler. If you mean the wing than they are like 20-30$ USD on various hobby sites

  • hahah u sound funnny:)

  • @timgaylehughes lol, yeah i did

  • @dano2website haha but anyways good video man

  • you should show us how this works.

  • @Tigerbarb202

Well in this video i show you how to put it together. It runs the same as normal but with more power.

  • good video! But it tought the esc coundnt handle past 12cells?? u have any issues yet?

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx

Well, with this mod you are allowing two batteries to be used. If you connect the batteries with a series connector than two 7-cell will make 14-cell and burn up the esc(actual smoke come out). However i say in the video to use a parelell connector which does not raise the amount of voltage(cells) but unlike the series connector doubles the Mah so you will have double the run time and slightly more power. thx for watching, XD

  • @dano2website OH i never knew the difference between series and parallel, sorry mate lol, good mod btw!

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx haha yeah there are two connectors you can buy. i made the mistake of buying this connecter for my mmm rustler. it didnt make it any faster and i was like wtf? and then i got the one that doubles the power and it went like 100 haha

  • thank you

  • Does this work on Hpi e firestorm brushed?

  • @biggameorlivestock

Well this is a chasis modification so it depends on the chasis of your vehichle. I'm not familiar with the car but if you can measure your batteries and the slots in your chasis than i'm sure that you can make it work.

  • where r ur shocks? do u run ur bandit with without shocks?

  • @reidairsofter

I use shocks. I just took them off for this video to make it easier to demonstrate this process.

  • what size tires are thoes? and what is your car geared at??

  • @traxxasbandit1

4.8 inch tires on 2.8 inch wheels, stock stampede setup. And its geared at 26/86 but i'm moving it down to 24/90 soon because its getting too hot.

  • I just made a parallel connector. Can I use a 6 cell and 7 cell battery at the same time or do they both need to be the same voltage?

  • @PoopLoungeProduction

I', sorry but both batteries need to be the same voltage for this to work. This process makes it like doubling your mah or having two of the same battery. I am almost sure that the esc wouldn't be able to handle that but concluding, thanks for checking out the video and taking time t comment.

  • Like I would ever listen to someone about electronics when they use duct tape in place of electrical tape...

Or someone who says M- A- H instead of Milli Amps per hour

Or someone who says nims instead of nickel metal hydride .

  • @dragonblood199 Sir, i use electrical tape and i know what mah means and what nimh means. But this video isn't meant to teach people what they mean its meant to show people how to get their cars to go faster.

  • Like I would ever listen to someone about electronics when they use duct tape in place of electrical tape...

  • What size tires i put both my nimh i had 4200 and 5000 is that ok ... I also whould put lowvoltage detection on

  • @RCmanster I had 2.8 inch wheels and the tires were around 4.5 inches. 4,200 and 5,000 is perfectly fine. Also low voltage detection is only needed when using LiPOs. However you will have a total of 9,200 MaH so check battery temps as really long runs which you will get from that level of MaH can get the motor hot.

  • Great Video...I have one quick question, soo i am planning to do this double battery thing and i was just wondering would it be bad to have one lipo and one nimh at the same time

  • @blogan234 It will depend on your ESC's programming. If you do use than Velenion than make sure you try it on LiPo mode because using LiPos on Nimh mode will break the Lipo's. However i don't see any problem with doing it on Lipo mode as long as you use a parallel connector and not a series and that you have a working low voltage cut off. Anyway tell me how it turns out as i have never heard of anyone doing this, good luck :)

  • is 2 nimh can handle it? 2 7 cell nimh 5000 mah

  • @jason1786 Yes Jason, 2 7-cell nimh will work on any esc that can handle one 7-cell. You have to use a parallel connector though or it won't work. 2 7-cell nimhs at 5k mah each would be fine and you would get long run times as it would be 10,000 mah. The only problem is that your motor and esc might get hot in a reaaallly long run so i would check the temps every now and than.

  • can you drive it with out shocks? lol

  • @98Ps3lover

lol, i had popped my shocks but now i have big bores, yay!

  • grind that wall down as you show....except get the edges removed too...they will wear into the shrink wrap of the batteries eventually......second when thats done order a lipo 5.2A 30C 2S battery from hobby king. Also get a battery monitor, its a small circuit board ($3) you plug into the balance wires, get one with an alarm (some are just with led) secure it with servo tape in a place you can easily access when battery is in the tray and connect the battery....now see the bandit go ballistic !

  • i have done this to mine, the slight .2 volt increase wont harm your electrics, the lipo can flow more juice than needed, you might want a wheelie bar or put some led weights into the front....cause it will be on its rear wheels all the time :-) the battery monitor will sound a loud tone when its time to stop and charge....or you can get a ezrun system in there....i upgraded to this....and it is insanely fast, unbelievable power, i hit 60+ mph with mine easy (when tires are taped) muhahahaha

  • and the wheelies are cool...it really gonna tech you throttle control to keep those front tires planted on the ground....i set my drag brake at 10-15% that way i just let off a bit on the throttle and the front comes down with mild braking force keeping the front wheels in good contact with the ground, enabling you to steer the buggy, if you dont set drag brake it will just go straight at high speeds even when 100% to the right or left, just not enough force on the front tires, weights will help

  • @CygnusX250

Yh, i gotta grind the wall down little more as it has gone into the shrink rap. And i'm getting lipo's soon so than it really will go ballistic at 60 or 70, lol.

  • @dano2website ...thats a shame with the shrink wrap....thank god for gaffa tape :-)

i tried paralell running 2 packs of 40C 4A 2S lipos (they are so thin that i can mash 2 into the battery box....with the brushless system, those two batteries could deliver more than enough the buggy was ballistic ALL the time...not even "nutty" fun....just insane..jus for the heck of it i dropped in a Castle ESC i forget which one as its a rebranded hpi, programmed the throttle curve and it was manageable LOL

  • the ESC is a 3s. it isn't rated for more than 11.1 volts

  • @TheHuntingTerminator

Yes, that is true. However i am saying to use a parallel connector which doubles the mah of the input power. It does not higher the voltage however it does high the power since nimhs lose power throughout the run session and with dual nimh you get a greater peak power.

  • @dano2website ok, u may be right, i'm not a master electrician

  • @TheHuntingTerminator

haha, basically i copied the mini e-revo dual battery system, anyway it works fine. as in my Rustler bash vid i was running dual batteries. Anyway thank you for watching
