i have a much easier solution and it works for movies , pictures and music it is a program called "vuze " its well worth the download. the free version has a device playback section that allows you to drag all your files into the PS3section (xbox and any other network devices) it converts all files to the type that the platform uses takes only seconds also the full version has a really good dvd burner

No sir, as he said, the Video Recording Software he was using for this YouTube Video was running at a lower frame rate (8 fps). CamStudio did this to make the file smaller. The actual viewing/recording will be at full frame rate depending on your choice of TV tuner hard/software.

Nope the ps3 does all the rendering and the PC just displays it as long as ur pc can run with the TV card

You don't have to strip your cables. Buy something called a "3.5MM Stereo Male to Two RCA Female cable" and you can plug your PS3 audio cables into an audio jack. I hunted this down a few months ago. There's a cable for everything! :)

This is retarded. HDMI - DVI converter costs just a few pounds. And then there's DVI - VGA converters if your monitor is that crap. FAIL.

To convert you cant use those adapters to convert hdmi to vga because the hdmi has hdcp protection, and a vga port is not hdcp compatible. You need a very special, very expensive adapter called an hd fury to go from hdmi to vga.

I have a Hvr-1200 WintTv. I connected everything and installed drivers etc etc. I got the software Wintv 7 and started it. choose S-video and turned on my ps3. Wintv Buffres and then it says no siglnal... HELP ME!!! :P

you have to set your ps3 to send the image through the lead your connecting to your pc, if its set on hdmi mode you have to change it, its risky though because if you change it you may not be able to set it back unless you have a monitor or tv which has a yellow input socket to set it back to hdmi my advice is to just buy a hdfury adapter for 50 pounds which isnt much but you get the full hd image without the fuss

Sorry about the other comment, I didnt watch the vid first. This is my setup; I have a 22" ultrasharp (1080P) widescreen LCD. My vista pc uses the moniters VGA input while the PS3 uses the DVI input. One simple touch of a button switches it between the two. Its very simple to do. My ps3 uses the mouse and keyboard too with the moniter so everyone thinks its pc gaming.

I didnt have to do a damn thing to connect my PS3 to my vista pcs and laptops. All you need to do is have media server turned on and every pc in the house can be streamed/downloaded. None of this crap is needed.
