  • Love my 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, over paid for additional warranty. But was told that it will be worth it. I am currently looking for a new car, but every car I have driven does not compare to my Jetta. I will have to pay over 30k to get a similar or better car that I will enjoy.

  • I love my jetta!

  • jetta's give a nice ride

  • the 2005-2010 Volkswagen Jetta/ Volkswagen Bora/ Volkswagen GLI/

  • This model looks 100 times better then the 2011+

  • its a nice car, good ride

  • I like the old styling but the 05-09 is my favorite so far anyway how well is the reliability of 05+ jetta?

  • i've heard that VW reliability is awful. how is everyone's long term test?

  • @blaziankhmer dont you mean land rover is horrible??? these cars are extremeely reliable my jetta started easy in -20 C and has never let me down the old jetta like 02-04 is unreliable my grandma had one and it had constant problems mine is an 06 and has never had something wrong with it

  • I love my Jetta. <3

  • what about the 2.0 TDI?

  • Getting a Jetta when I'm 17 :D

  • @Traviskolber lol im 17 and im getting one this weekend :D

  • I don't like the new look of the jetta, i have a 2004 jetta, and i luv the body. but not the new ones.

  • @MrCircus177 i agree. i have a 2003

  • @warlockplaya Ya, the older ones had a distinct look about them. But the new ones look like a Toyota or a Honda.

  • ahh the girl is stimulating my ADD...

  • JETTAN

  • I've got the 2010 SE. It's really fun to drive. I open it up on the interstate on my way to school every morning. It'll get up to 115 pretty quickly. Not sure how it stacks up to other models as far as speed but I don't think I've been passed by another vehicle since I've owned it. I think that's probably just because I'm a lead foot though. : D

  • Consumer reports worse-than average reliability 2000 to 09 models.

Audi A6 Cadillac SRX Cadillac STS Chevrolet Aveo Blazer

Chevrolet Colorado Monte Carlo S-10 Pickup

    TrailBlazer Uplander Venture Chrysler Sebring

Volkswagen Cabrio Jetta Beetle Passat Touareg Volvo XC90

  • The Jetta doesn't drive on the Autobahn, the Jetta isn't sold in Germany

  • @Raffix394 yes jettas are sold in germany go to volkswagen . de

  • @toyota420xp Nope it will soon be sold in Germany the 2011 model will be the first one to come to Germanys markets this video was uploaded sometime 2008 that time Jetta wasn't sold in Germany.

Plus the version sold in Germany is a different more expensive version then the one in th US,

  • @Raffix394 the jetta has been sold in germany since 2005 and before that it was called the bora but still a jetta get your facts straight

  • an old person corvette

  • woe woe woe. it includes air conditioning!??!?!? holy shit thats crazy!!!

  • jetta is a bet

  • this means v and wich v is i change i got no club but wichs should drive this.

  • The Volkswagen Jetta looks like a duck.

  • im looking to buy a used car im looking at this car whats this cars top speed and how do u some owners like it?

  • @lastseam2 130 mph...i bought a 2010 and its a great value...plus vw pays for oil, etc every 10,000 miles

  • @lastseam2 Try, Jetta99.com

  • hot chics love vws ...so do gay guys.

  • VW cars are hit and miss...flip of a coin...if they run good ur in luck...if they break down ...get ready for a world of hurt. They are good fun car if you plan to keep it until the warranty is over. If you want a car for 5-10 years ur safer with a Japanese car.

  • idk if its just me but everytime i see a girl driving one, they are always hot! ive yet to see an ugly girl driving one.

  • I love this car!!!

  • I love this car! great chrome grill!!

  • the jetta is builded in Puebla Mexico and i think is a really good car . i have one and i love the sound of the engine

  • it s fun car to drive...but in the long run they are unreliable and cost alot to fix.

  • th jetta is a good car now are u happy nikos

  • i think its sad when people's comments have to be deleted and all this swearing goes on...its just a car! your swearing makes it look worse:p

  • @casey9540 we totally agree. We really want people having conversations in these comments, but the swearing makes it unpleasant for everyone.

  • just because they have a gas [edal issue , it has nothing to so with their engine...their engine been reliable time and time again...

  • and what are your views on toyota and honda now with all those recalls

  • trust on volkswagen please the jetta its a rocket ok europe cars are better than honda and all those loser cars ok

  • my sister is a research engineer for vw of america and she said electrical is still their number one issue. Still I dont trust VW after owning one already for a year. Parts and repairs are high. I replaced a plastic tube in the engine for $80.

  • i dont like toyota styling but i do like Scion styling and giving you more for the price with toyota reliability.

  • Comment removed

  • @quatlen OMG if the pedal sticks shut the F'in engine off dumb asses!

  • I was talking about reliability in general, It is common knowledge to turn of the engine or even better shift into neutral. I don't know what you're talking about because it doesn't fit with my comment.

  • @quatlen If it was common knowledge the floor mats wouldn't be a problem at all

  • @cody7445 I suppose some of the idiots wouldn't know what to do if the accelerator was stuck on but yes it is common knowledge to do something/ turn off the engine, put in neutral, etc and that is what most people would do. The problem is that they don't have enough time to react.

  • Toyota reliability... ROFL

  • I have to agree...I had more fun with my VW but but it was a high price to take care of it....so I went back to Japanese Toyota though a Scion XB is in a diff genre from VW GTI

  • In all, u'll be spending more money with VWs than Toyota....look at JD Powers reliability report ....I don't see alot of VWs on the top of the list.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM Toyota build the most reliable and durable cars no ?. But VWs are more fun. it's just that simple for me. And having such a huge following, it can be cheaper to own the VW over the long run. For me anyways.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM the jetta is a much more solid vehicle yeah it might have a few little issues here and there but the car is solidly built. toyotas interiors are very cheap feeling and I hate how the bumpers look they just look so flimsy.

  • funny u say that.....my last 2003 vw gti , i had problems with mostly the ignition coil. My sister is one of the VW of America research engineer and she even admits VW have alot problems with electrical.

  • VW are amazing when it comes to engineering and quality. The problem is that Jettas are made in Mexico, thats why they have problems. Buy a passat or Touareg, or move up to an Audi a4 (better version of passat) then you'll see the real difference.

  • J.D. Power and Associates gave 2010 vw jetta a 5 out of 10.

  • love VW styling but reliability is a diff story. i had a used GTI but shows problems after a year...I'm don't know about new VW...but it can't beat Japanese cars.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM All around VW are better cars than their Japanese rivals. in terms of electrical reliability, the japanese are better. I own VWs and they are not without faults, but my 2.0 had well over 300k and the only issue I've had is the ignition coil.

  • @blackdubsociety You may be right, but i'd say that German cars have much more electric(al gadgets) than japanese cars. so there is more to break down.

  • @ichundichundduunder VW Golf/Jetta are damn near luxury compared to the japanese cars in the class.

  • @blackdubsociety There is nothing to argue about that :). Actually i wanted to reply to

blackdubsociety comment that japanese cars have less electronical problems. I think thats to due to the facts i said underneath.

    Have a nice day

  • I owned a VW Jetta before and I will NEVER buy VW again!!! Big time reliability issue.

  • That girl is hot

  • This VWcar is great

offcorse better than the japanese car

I know it cause i'm japanese so

  • I just got a red TDI 2010 two weeks ago and it's an interesting car.

  • I LOVE my 2010 Mercedes GLK 4Matic! if you got the money its worth it!

  • After 50k miles the Jetta will start giving you problems. This car is OK for Europe, where the people wont put more than 6-8K miles per year.

But here in the States the average is like 15K miles per year. You do the calculation.

This car is OK if you lease it. But if you own it, you have to be ready to pay if you want it on the road.

If you don't believe me check the ConsumerReports or the J.D.Power scores on reliability!

  • I put 180K miles on my Audi TT. It was just fine, Stock turbo

  • what are you insane, im from Germany and what are Germans know for, why is anything that comes out of Germany expensive, uhhhh i wonder why, umm because anything and everything that comes out of that country is reliable and lasts, your telling me germans put 6-8k per year LOL drive a Corolla on the German autobahn every day for a month see what happens

  • Dude you have some prototypes in you mind! the world doesn't work that way. The American cars ware the best in the 50's and 60's then came the Europeans (mostly German manufacturers) and their cars took the lead...

It was that way till the end of 90's. For the last 10 years Japanese dominate the Market....

Tell me which is the biggest car manufacturer in the world, TOYOTA !!!

Mercedes, BMW and VW have dropped the quality of their cars since 2000. They ware the best, but not any more...

  • toyota is the most popular manufacturer in the world because they use the quantity over quality concept, its like the dollar store they sell shit but hey its just a dollar and dont talk to women that way boy learn some manners

  • Dude you have no idea what are you talking about. Go do some more research...

Toyota makes the most reliable cars in the world. Toyota customers are the most satisfied among all.

It is true that Toyota doesn't make very ultra luxury cars or the best sports cars in the world.... but think about it, how many people can buy those cars ???

Toyota makes extremely reliable and refined cars for the masses, that is the companies philosophy.

    I'm talking about USA...

  • Toyota does make some sweet ass ultra luxury cars... Lexus, just like Honda calls it's nice luxury rides Acura.

  • I don't think they can handle the truth, but you are speaking it.

  • Japanese do dominate the market but their cars are still not the best.

  • Not the best for who? If you are 16... and the only think you want is sportiness and power may be not...

But they are getting there... Nissan Skyline prove to be better than most of the best European models...

But if you are grown man and look for low maintenance, comfortable, reliable, refined cars... and good level of agility and power... Japanese are the best...

  • How is Nissan Skyline the best? Just tell me, HOW? It's not just about the speed, it's about driving experience and that's where it fails. It is basically a Porsche 911 turbo with better weight distribution, because they put the engine to the front of the car.

Secondly, I still think cars from Europe are better. For example, Mercedes E-class 250 - power like a V6, torque like a V8, but it's only a 4cyl, and it gets 44 MPG, that's just incredible. What Japanese car can compete with that?

  • Dude what are you talking bout...?

You are missing the most important variable of the equation, THE PRICE. Do you know how much is to maintain that Mecedes over aperiod of 5 years?

And do you know that most of the Japanece cars in the same class with the Mercedes are 5-10K $ cheaper.

With the Mercedes you pay 60K $ to buy it, 20-30K $ to maintain it, so after 5 years you end up paying 80-90K $ for it.

The same with Lexus, will cost you lile 50-60K $ for 5 years, 20-30K $ less .

  • @digitalrebelxti Mercedes are expensive for a reason. Lexus is a Toyota everywhere else in the world. They are cheap cars to begin with, but with some added luxury items. You want dedicated luxury, there is no way around the Germans.

  • The only reason why Mercedes is Expensive is because they want to make more profit from their cars! Mercedes was top of the line brand like 10-15 years ago... since everything has changed!

I recommend you to test drive a Lexus, Acura or Infiniti... you'll see what I'm talking about!

  • None of their stupid hybrids can!

Thirdly, you can't just look at how big something is, you also have to consider how fast is it growing. And VW concern grows much faster than Toyota which is soon to be outsold. Sorry to disappoint you.

  • VW grows because it is buying other manufacturers... not because it is selling more...

  • 6-8k? You have some weird info about Europe. I put like 25k km, my father does 50k

  • just bought my fifth jetta 2 weeks ago, black on grey loaded navigation the whole nine yards,my next car would be the 6 gen jetta lol

  • my mom has one. salsa red. and its mine in 9 months :D

  • jette is better than corrolas!! :)

  • No doubt.

  • That is not true. The corolla is more refined and the ride is better.

Also the Corolla will run well over 200K miles. The Jetta starts breaking after 50K miles on it.

If you want sportiness, get the XRS Corolla.

  • sometimes its true that corrola is better its really depends on how you treat the car and how you drive it..i.. think hahah

  • ya the corolla may be better but in the end your driving a shitty japanese corolla lol

  • No kids allowed here! Get out!

  • any car that is made for insane german driving on their no speed limit roads and highways is both good and is going to last, a car like a shitty corola wouldn't last 10 minutes on german highways, want more bang for your buck buy German

  • You are wrong and the facts are not in your side.... I won't waste my time wit you...!

  • lol of course im wrong and of course your right, americans are always right and the facts are always on their side and if they're not well then they kill you, shut up loser fact is Japan is known for cheap shit and Germany is known for the best in anything and everything so keep driving that toyota lol

  • I just saw that you are a girl... WTF.... no girls allowed here... go make some comments on make up videos.... get out... don't waste my time...

What the F... you know of cars....

  • Dude I speak 3 languages and can configure any kind of network with close ayes...

You are right about many people here, there is lots of fat ignorant idiots here, but that is the way how we are supposed to be. As long as we can borrow and spend... don't give a shit of what is going on around the world (that is how we think here(not me though)).

This is American review of the Jetta... if you want to talk about German reviews, get out of this review... go find German reviews...

  • @panini800 hey, im an european guy living in canada.....i hate it here,

...but anyway, wil you marry me?!!?!

  • @panini800 "and your a dumbass american most uneducated western nation on earth."

I'm not even going to elaborate on your atrocious grammar; your ignorance amazes me even more.

  • @panini800, I had 2 volkswagens and they crapped out on me. I don't know about the quality in germany, but in the USA Volkswagens are terrible.

  • @chabootot overruled.

  • @chabootot Damn right! :)

  • looks too boring like all other vw

  • i just bought a 2009 VW Jetta TDI about 3 days ago, and it runs like a beauty. its so fun to drive. specialy with the S feature. gives it more power on take of, its also fun driving it in munual form once in a while, and you actually get wipe lashed . 5/5 stars, 3 thumbs up LOL

  • I want that car. Period

    Salsa red.

  • what makes it so inexpensive, is that it is assembled in Mexico. Thats a good deal for a German car.

  • the old ones were assembled in mexico i dont know about the new ones

  • Jettas / Boras are assembled in Puebla, Mexico

  • Your correct about the S (sports fuction)

just great fun i love mine!!!

  • GLI trim level is gorgeous, but expensive lol

  • my mom just bought a SEI jetta 2009. its soooo nice. she even had mini tv's in the back headrests. soo cool. and we have had it for a while now. it runs great. matter of fact everything runs great. i love jetta. and volkswagen. they impress me

  • It competes with the focus not the fusion

  • if i had to compare it to a focus i would take the jetta hands down.

  • @Kia0Rio you cant really compare jetta to a focus. thats like comparing a tiger and a house cat

  • i would wait for the new coming golf. the rabbit and the golf are pretty similar, but the new golf looks better.

  • The new golf is super ugly, that's why I went for the jetta

  • what i most like about this car, is when u switch the gear into S it suddenly feels really lighter and a lot faster, i know what S means on this car, but im just surprised that it actually stood out while driving it.

  • both are pieces of shit, as soon as the warranty expires they break, I have spent 1200 dlls and is not good yet, my stupid 04 jetta

  • you should of looked at vw reliability before buying one.

  • "Recommended" by Consumer Reports, just as reliable as a Civic or Corolla.

  • ya sum mk4s were good, others werent, this new generation is a different story. they are super reliable and feel much better.

  • take both...then you need not to decide

  • Wait for the new Rabbit then it'll be a better buy.

  • Jetta looks better!

  • It's also called Jetta in Canada, UK, Australia and some other countires, not just in the US!

  • the Bora is the Jetta anywhere but the U.S.

  • R u kidding me!..sitting three in the back of the jetta is backbreaking! the middle seat has this hard lump that catches you back!

  • try a corola

  • the older version has a more euro styleing...this just loooks too much a japanese car if u take the logo away

  • does anybody know if this car is automatic?

  • you can get this car in both automatic or manual

  • except the sel witch is auto only in the us

  • Is'nt the focus a competator of the jetta not fusion

  • In mexico this new jetta is called bora or in the germany or u.s its sometimes reffered as the jetta wolfsburgh

  • I LOVE THIS STYLING OF the JETTA ;]

  • I just bought one and I must admit--Its totally fun to drive and was priced reasonably

  • I'm looking to buy one of these. How would you say it has fared over the month you have owned one?

  • i have one it is great! its not a sports car but it deffinantly can accelerate....

  • thx for your input =)

  • I leased my 3rd Jetta 7 months ago.

And usually it is Atypical of me to keep using the same product over and over again. But These are great cars. When i First bought my 2003 Jetta 1.8 Turbo, I fell in love with it. It was fun and very fast. My second one was 2005 2.5 Jetta which i leased. And finally I've leased my 2009 Jetta Wolfsburg edition. this is the one with the 2.0 Turbo Red salsa color. This definitely the best one overall. It's super powerful and the overall drive. I'd recommend it

  • hey - if you buy one go for the 2.0t model. it has one less cylinder and WAY better gas mileage. i can get 35 on the highway, and it goes 130 miles per hour. get the six speed manual aswell- the DSG is alright, but the 6 speed makes it feel like a go kart. its a great car. and with the right tires, can go anywhere you can.
