I don't know, maybe it's just not very compatible.

Not all games are backwards compatible. Great examples are games that were also ported directly to the 360. (Like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and Street Fighter 2 from Capcom Classics Collection)

This is the only game I've seen that encounters heavy graphical glitches.

The mission statement of the Xbox team is to have *every* original game working eventually in backwards-compatibility mode, no matter if they have native Xbox 360 ports or not. But, it does utilize emulation of the original Xbox and each game needs to be tweaked and fixed for it to run smoothly.
