  • I miss the wall and the trench, it gave way more interesting teamwork.

  • Im currently doing this, it may not be the original but its still hard work and its keeping it alive =) <3 the guys at collingwood

  • @littlemushrooms4

Enjoy the experience. It definitely is a unique opportunity, that very few people get to experience.

  • @dannyjcalnan Our team did it in 1:45, not the best but we had a weeks training, people kept dropping out so we had to get new people in, and we all had pretty bad fitness levels lol =) It was amazing though im so glad i did it <3

  • Car park field gun.

  • This "AINT BLOODY FIELD GUN" thank that twat Gordon BrownMP for destroying the real one

  • I'm thinking of doing this for the Help for heroes (UK Charity) at my school :)

  • Okay..for the last time, I know this isnt the original Command Field Gun competition, which apparently was stopped in 1999! As I said a year ago, Collingwood Base called this Competition in 2008, the Royal Navy Field Gun. If you were there, you would know what I was talking about. I am a US Military member who had the honor to participate, and wanted to share with people in the US, who may not know about this time honored tradition. If you werent there, shut up, and let others enjoy the videos!

  • @dannyjcalnan Just thought you'd like to know that the Command Field Gun Run will apparently take place again at the British Military Tournament in December 2010. This isn't a Royal Tournament, but a privately-sponsored event for a charity that helps British military personnel and their families. But it's the real deal!

  • Correct! This ain't Field Gunning; smalley boys could do this!

  • That isn't firld gunning lol, Where are the the 'home' and 'Enemy' walls for them to get the guns and limbers over? Where are the 28ft & 10ft Spars? The Shear legs? no chasm for them to get everything across. If your gonna do field gunning at least do it properly dont make a gimmic out of it !!

  • Why dont they do it in the arena anymore?

  • Curious exercise...

Having watched the '88 video floating around here, seems like an interesting event.

Perhaps showing it along with a modern example of such an exercise using current field guns would be an excellent display of how much change and similiarity exists.

  • To anyone who has been misled by Brickwoods being described as Command Field gunning....it is not...and is fuck all like Command Field gun, which was stopped in 1999....If you haven't run for points at 'The Court' and been hauled across the chasm then stop fooling yourself and others that you are field gunners......YOU'RE NOT...and never will be, this is Brickwoods...NOT Field gunning!!...

  • Thank you for your input, however mis-guided it is. Before you go and chastise me for calling this the Field gun competition, you should take a step back and realize that IS EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS CALLED at Collingwood. And no, I dont pretend that this is the original Command Field gun competition, because I never had the chance to participate in it. I am in the U.S. Military, and that was the only opportunity I had to participate in a time honored tradition. It is the event, not the name!!

  • Are you having a laugh???? Fieldgun??

    don't think so chaps

  • Refrescador,

They have not brought it back ,this is Brickwoods and NOT real Field Gun.

  • That was H-O-R-R-B-L-E!

    Let's do it all again!

  • I'm glad they've finally brought this back.
