@golfcharlie232 Ok, thanks! Very nice vid btw! ;) When I was in Belle Plagne, the red SAF as-350 was the helicopter they were using there at that time :)
An aircraft that state-of-the-art and the poor medic / nurse / doctor still has to ride backwards...vomit city!!! Believe me, I rode backwards for 10 years (BO 105 CBS4) - and yes I lost a few lunches (Chili Cheese Kraut Dog from the University of Missouri Medical Center) - yea I know, but it was too late.....
I'm actually Spanish, but flight schools here are pretty good, so maybe I'll stay here and flight for LAN for a time. And we can get European or american licenses, not big difference on LAN. And I don't think I will fly in Spain, cause there are just no place to work. Maybe in Air France if a get accepted for speaking 4 languages. We'll see.
Well, that's true that the Spanish market is full with low houred pilots and hence it is hard to get a job there. From what I know, South America is less filled with new pilots and they are recruiting at a higher rate than here.
I personnally don't think i'll get an airline job in Europe, however there are some jobs in South Africa on C172, Caravan, Beech 1900, and in Europe some vacancies on PC6, and a bit of 737 / BAe146 / ...
Be ready to go anywhere, with a good fall back while you wait.
Mate LAN is the second best airline in the americas... I'm not talking about BAE's, I mean they ordered 42 787's being the first in south america in order them. They are the best users of a320's in the world. They got a really modern and complete fleet. Very respected and big airline. And is hunger of more and more pilots every day. If you want a job here. I can surely help you. The pay is really good. The thing is I'm Spanish, and so I'd like to come back to the motherland one day.
I can help you with that. I also speak French so just tell me when. And if you speak French, Spanish is not big deal at all.
So, I hope you can find a good job, but with all the degrees that you already have, I don't see such a big problem ;) Good luck, and I'm here to help you if you want to learn.
I know Spanish isn't hard, I can easily understand it, i just don't get a chance to speak it and won't have any occasion to spend some time in Spain any time soon.
Do you really think a foreigner non-hispanic could get a job for any operator there?

@shtzi Alright, thanks for the tip. So where do I put that? Cause in the "tags", it doesn't change anything.

I wish, but no I don't. Maybe one day, who knows .. :-)
Do you?
golfcharlie232 2 years ago
No I do not. I wish too.
I'm thinking more about getting my CPL sooner than helicopters licenses.
benfalas 2 years ago
Good luck with your licences then ;-)
Are you planning on training in Chile? Do you need FAA licences?

I know what you mean, if I could get to choose, I'd rather work in Europe.
But most of the pilot recruitments are close to 0 at the moment, even though some airlines do hire again.
I know LAN is a very good company, however my spanish isn't very brillant, and I would hugely struggle to improve it to a decent level.
