  • what a load of crap, taken prisoner by the japs?. Theres no proof that woman was her, you can get some random person and they could look similar to a celebrity.

  • heres something eles i noticed about this women Irene Bolam why is she reading her answers off a paper, dont she know if she is or isent emilla airheart, she was told what to say by the government on that piece of paper

  • DNA will prove the truth if Irene Bolam is in fact emilla, thay have emillas DNA on hand, why not solve the mistrey

  • heres a fact Irene Bolam her voice sound just like amillas voice do a voice over lay/ compairance you will see, this lady is emillia

  • i beleave that was airheart the reason why is because in stead of saying im flattered by this she gets angery, showing the fact that she is airheart, after all why would she get angery? well ill tell you way if it was her she would have a hard time exsplaining why she run off with her navagator and why she did it to start with plus our government would have her silenced, im sure she got payed very well for what she done,

  • No one has proved Irene Bolam was Irene Bolam. Nor has anyone proved she was the original 1930s Irene Craigmile. Irene Bolam was not and ordinary NJ

housewife, nor was she the original Irene Craigmile ( Amelias 1930s friend) She was in fact the person formerly known as Amelia Earhart beleve it or not.

  • Why was that lady so upset just because people thought she could be Amelia Earhart?

  • FUN FACT: My grandparents bought Irene Bolam's retirement home outside Princeton, NJ in the 1980s, where they lived for the final years of my grandfather's life. Nice place.

  • @zkg That is actually a really cool story.

Irene found and won a lawsuit that made Hawaiian Shirt Guy withdraw his book. Irene Bolam (aka Irene O'Crowley) isn't Amelia Earhart but her life's story was interesting: she was a banker after getting married but an early female aviator (starting 1939) as well.

  • I wonder what really happened.

Might be that they simply ran out of gas. Or Japanese got them.

  • Boy, that New Jersey lady sounded pissed.

  • We will gladly let go of this "BS belief" as soon as you or someone else proves it absolutely wrong. (WHICH NO ONE HAS EITHER BEEN ABLE OR WILLING TO DO SINCE 1970). You are right that DNA tests would confirm if she was or was not, but are you not aware that she had access to her body denied after she died ? There are many things that seem very convienant at the right time and too many coincedences.

Id like to see someone answer this question without dodging it WHY HASNT IT BEEN PROVED WRONG?

  • Why not check the DNA ???!!!

  • That guy Jervis has a truly creepy obsession over Earhart: thousands of photos, claiming he knows more about her than his mother, being convinced that this other woman in New Jersey is Earhart - who emphatically denies it (DNA tests would confirm this). This guy wants a happy ending? Let go of this BS belief!

  • I think Leonard Nimoy was Amelia Earhart.

    :-o !!!

  • I have read all responses to this video and almost everyone is completely wrong.

You like to laugh and make fun of his hair shirt and necklace and implie he has

a perverted sexual interest in her and of course make the claim he is a radical,

a nutjob,an extremist that does not know what he is talking about. Well I know

not think or believe I know that he is right. You people are completely blind and

fooled by the mystery that is not at all a mystery.

  • elgin long's theory is correct. amelia and fred ran out of fuel then had to ditch in the pacific ocean, and to this day there body's and the plane lie at the bottom of the ocean.

  • the guy with the funny shirt clearly wanted to have sexual intercourse with the old misterious lady

  • The gentleman's loud shirt and necklace disqualify him from rendering an opinion on any subject.

  • If this were true, why would the U.S. Navy only deploy one ship to Howland island? Doesn't make sense....

She ran out of fuel and they crashed in the Pacific and there is no question in my mind that persists.

  • I think if she got captured by the japanese and then was forced to take on a new identity why would anyone live with that? she had a husband that she loved and was worried about her, she had family and friends.......it doesnt make sense to make someone do that. This theory just isnt probable. She eather crashed into the atlantic or survived on the island, but then again wouldnt they have found her or it was a different island because she was lost.

  • I have no idea which story is true.............. i mean did she really get trapped by the japanese.............. or did she just crash? i think some of these people have strange minds............R.I.P AMELIA 1937

  • Why do people love conpsiracies so much? I guess we are preprogrammed to believe in myths.

  • This is bullshit from the bottom of the bucket.

  • @Sonyag1 you are wright

  • Japanese flag? Looks like vomit to me.

  • That creepy dude just thought that woman was Amelia because he's obsessed about her. He has probably picked out 3-4 "Amelia's's since this was aired. Of course everyone wants a happy ending but it's not going to be found in some angry old lady living in New Jersey...

  • lol the presenter looks like spok from startrek

  • As regards "Flight for Freedom", why would a U.S. Navy Admiral have an upper class English accent?

  • I can't believe they let that guy Jervis on the show.

  • WTF? Spock?

  • she was decapitated by a Japanese samourai fighter

  • Omfg how does this guy know more than amelias mom O_O

  • Jervis is such a putz! His theory is as ridiculous as his comb-over.

  • LMAO!

  • jervis is a complete wingnut. there may be some truth to earhart being picked up by japs but he's ridiculous.

  • if Amelia really did manage to escape Japan and came back to the US, why did she take on a new identity? what was the ultimate point? why couldn't she just go back to her husband and - if truly needed - they wouldve gone into hiding together? The woman in the clip supposed as Amelia appears to be married. why did she leave her husband to be married again? i do wish for any evidence that amelia did survive and did live happily into till the end of her days, but hiding in the USA made no sense.

  • That Major is wearing a wig, it's so obvious.

  • this guy was a stalker

  • these people are stupid. that women is not her. people change but when u look in someones eyes its always the same no matter what. and that lady and Amelia Earhart are two diffrent people

  • I have to agree, that isn't Amelia, sadly.

I wish it had been, though.

  • If that women is not her, why does she need to read from a written statement in front of the press like that, it looked staged to me. Just my opinion.

  • Looks and sounds like her...

  • DNA Match negative . Not her

  • Good point, but if that is/was her then that means the U.S. government was involved and they would have no problem in covering up a DNA test.

  • i belive that she is that wierd woman

  • Wrong DNA sorry

  • Sorry, I meant to say"that old hag is not AH".

  • the last guys theory sounds good.

  • Dear All,

    I have some curious questions:

    (1) Since the first aeroplane was invented by Wright Brother in 1903, what does flying means to our society and the world?

    (2) What is aviation and flying means to female?

    (3) Why do ladies love flying, including me?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

P.S. I am a lady who enjoy flying.

  • Wow, that woman sounds like my mom when she is very angry. To the guy who has over a thousand pictures of her: Dude, give it up, that woman is not Amelia Earhart.

  • Wow, the guy that openly boasts of thousands and thousands of Amelia Earhart pictures is really pushing my CREEPY button.

    The hairpiece doesn't help.

  • @CristinaFernandez Really. We call it "stalking" by other means.

  • LOL! He had over a thousand photos of her so I guess that means he knows what happened?

I would love to slap this guy.

  • @haroof I'd slap him for that Hawaiian shirt alone.

  • Nimoy has singlehandedly kept the "turtle neck sweater" alive!

  • An even bigger mysterious disappearance is Lenord Nemoy's career.

  • Why is the officer in that movie British?

  • Is she was on a top secret mission, would it really make sense to promote the whole trip so much????

This is where Hollywood takes over from reality.

    Plane. Big Sea. Crash.

  • Comment removed

  • God I hate these dumbass conspiracy theorists.

  • The bigger mystery is why that guy is wearing that shirt at 2:05. Oh my god, thats just crazy!

  • there is an expedition planned for next year 2010 by the TIGHAR foundation based in California. they visited an island 1800 miles south of hawaii in 2007 and found evidence of a wreckage and womans period clothing and evidence of a campsite. they plan to go back and compare DNA to that of a living female relative of Amelias. there is also the evidence provided by a then 15 year old girl who heard distress calls from mrs. earhart on her fathers short wave.

  • could somebody explain why she couldent have crashed and died?

  • I'm a Nauruan citizen who leave on the south pacific ocean, On an Island call Nauru. I've Been spear diving in the sea around my country for many years. I'm very curious about this as it came to my attention after watching some documentry movie about Ms earhart. Once during my dive I came across a round metal object that look similar to that of the metal object on top of Mrs Earhart plane..what struck me while watching the movie is that it mention her plane flying over my country B4 disspearing

  • thanks.

  • Yea, must be aliens!...A UFO must had snatched her!

  • About Earhart's survival (see "Irene-Amelia" website) in 1965 Admiral Nimitz did admit it was known and documented in Washington how Earhart ended up existing under the auspice of Japan after she was reported 'missing.' The question became: Would Japan, who in the 1930s regaled Amelia Earhart as a hero (Babe Ruth too) have allowed Amelia to die by sickness or execution? OR, could another co-endorsed (U.S., Japan) solution have been achieved? The latter holds weight WWII era wise.

  • Well in my opinion, I think Amelia Earhart still lives.

Probably somewhere in Japan.Because if she lives in New Jersey right now, they would have found her already. Or find the woman again that looks Just like Amelia Earhart, well the one that every one thinks it's Amelia Earhart. [Irene Bowling] and ask her for baby photos, or pictures of her from like a long time ago, and if she doesn't want to show them, then obviously it's her, but if she does show pictures then its probably not Amelia.

  • but she could always show fake photos.

  • 5:43...theres probably missing footage there, before it cuts to Nimoy

  • It's possible... I did get these from other posters who have since been deleted. Another possibility is it was the original cut to commercials.
