yo toco el cello tambien... ojala algun dia pueda interpretar esta obra asi! thank you very much for your beatiful interpretation i hope you the best!
Realizing that a musical performance is relative and that no matter how good a person is there's someone always just around the corner better,I still can't help feeling the word "perfect" when I hear a performance like this.
This sounds great but it would sound a million times greater if it was with a full orchestra... Not in your control I know, but it really pains me to hear a bassoon solo transcribed for the cello section.
I actually use a different fingering for the double stops than what is written in International Edition... So maybe that would help?
For practising, I would suggest to play it slow, trying to build strenght in your hand/fingers. Then try to increase the tempo gradually, using the metronome. And try to emphasise each group of 4.
I know it's a really difficult passage, but don't give up! Good luck!
On the fingering for the double stops i use 1on the G string, 2 on the d string and 3 on the A string. Then on the next i switch to 1 on the D and G string and 2 on the A string. I think that is a good fingering. What do you use?
Sorry for the late reponse. For fingering, I use 2 on the G and D strings and 3 on the A string. Then I switch - like you - to 1 on the G and D strings and 2 on the A string. For the next group of four I use the same fingering as for the very first group. Then, for the next group of four, I start using the thumb, so thumb on the G and D strings (harmonics) and 1 on the A string. Then I use 2 on the G and D strings and 3 on the A string again. Then I use the thumb on the G and D strings and 1 on
(cont.d) the A string. These last two fingerings for the last two groups of four keep going until the end of the passage. This fingering works for me... But yours sounds like it could work well, too. I think the important thing is just to build up strenght in your fingers and your hand for whichever fingering you decide to use. You'll get it - don't worry! It comes over time.
Hope this helps! Don't hesitate to contact me again if you have any more questions.
@CapriccioMusic Lol yeah, I just started playing this like a couple weeks ago and I've been sightreading the other movements for fun (other than the 1st, which is what I've been working on with my teacher) and I've pretty much memorized the whole concerto now... lol... hahaha
Nice playing. ow do you practice the cadenza spicatto in movement 2?
