Ahhhaaaa, the first one to ask, it is a visual point, so you know you're over the point W by experience, LOL, that is why they want you to fly in with an instructor a few times into Courchevel before doing it by yourself. Actually, the point W is not a very "specific" point, it is more of a "general area" (for the lack of better words). It is not exact like a GPS point is, because if the weather is IFR, you shouldn't be flying into Courchevel to begin with.
IFR = Instrument Flight Rules
VFR = Visual Flight Rules
Never flew in or out of Courchevel, but I skied there for a week, and watched.

weather where the only way you can fly is using your instruments. At Courchevel, you can not fly into if the weather i not good (or VFR)
