Too bad no one has made a program that would simulate LSO on FS9/FSX. It'd be cool to have them talk you down and get the reaction on the landing grade lol

Hi, thanks for the great video. I have this same carrier, and I was wondering if there was a manual or something for it. I was wanting to know if there was and ILS approach and what freq. it may be on. I also can't seem to figure out how to "Call the BALL". I can make a nice landing but I was wondering what the diffrent lights on the sides of the carrier means and how to use them. I had this along time ago and there seemed to have a manual but I can't seem to find one now. Thanks alot.

@busspuppy There´s a tutorial at FSX Blue Angels' site. I´ve come noticiably more proficient in carrier traps since making this video, so I´d look for more pro-ish videos from the web if I were you.

Can anyone tell me where I can find LSO sounds? I have the Nimitz add-on where yo u can choose where it spawns and what configuration it spawns it, but I can't think of the specific add-on. I don't know if that's relevant to the LSO sounds but there are'nt any included so can anyone tell me where I can find some? Thank you!

well that landing was risky( 3:05) that fast decrease of alt would smash the fighter to the deck....lololthe front gear hits the deck first than the back ones...lol anyway i have to thumb up this cuz i loved the visuals...and i admire all the simmers...i really wish to know where you got this carrirer...i tried to click the link in the description ...but nothing...let me know if you would like to share this carrier even if from email..its easy..and check out mine fsx videos..cheers my friend

I was a almost a total newbie when filming this. I guess would -600-700 fpm is about the right vertical speed?

lol fair enough, im not to sure though, i no the rate for an f/a-18 is about -400-350fpm, im not sure for this particular aircraft, i would probably guess its about the same or potentially a little less just because it is a bigger aircraft.

go youtube and type FSX IRIS F-14 start up.

Lol, Well technically, its Microsoft Flight Simulator X. But if you want the carriers and the F-18, and The EH-101 ( Rotorcraft) and the P51D Mustang, and red bull air races, than you need to buy the Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration Expansion pack. Hope this helped.

I don´t know, if you are talking about IRIS´ planes launch bar, but you must activate it from the VC, as the manual states.

try approaching at 130 kts.. 100 would have stalled the aircraft in real life.. little more airspeed would smooth out the landing, not that landing on a carrier is ever a smooth adventure.. :)
