did u downshift before u mashed it bro? sounds like u just hit the gas in 5th, i have a T56 in my 96 9c1 and if im on the highway i normally down shift to 4th or 3rd depending on the speed...i only have 4.10 gears, i can get up to 73mph in 3rd before having to shift if im racing it from a dead stop so normally so thats why i'll down shift to 3rd or 4th for the torque and power in the higher range of those gears
no down shift, just 5th gear :)

5gear doing 65 on the free way, and just smashing...... love t 56 and 4.56 gears :)
