Many of my ancestors died in the War, and their stories of Sherman's troops burning their farms to the ground lives on today. Thanks for posting the anthem...my family had 7 relatives fight for the CSA and I am proud of my heritage. None of them had slaves they were just farmers living in rural areas as far as we can tell. To many people, the Confederate flag does indeed stand for slavery, just as the Swastika stands for racism to many people. Of course, to some people, the Swastika is actually a religious symbol, and to some people, the Confederate flag means various things, none of which relate to slavery. Many of my ancestors died in the War, and their stories of Sherman's troops burning their farms to the ground lives on today. But as a Southerner, I would gladly welcome as a fellow Confederate, any yankee who upholds those ideals.

Of course, to some people, the Swastika is actually a religious symbol, and to some people, the Confederate flag means various things, none of which relate to slavery.
