  • It's a rare single storm cloud!! It happens when there's alot of moisture in a single area!!! I study science and have been for the past 11 years!!! Is there a pond underneith of it? There's got to be alot of water in that one area!!!

  • Run!!!

  • dude sounds like he's reading off a script

  • they were building icloud and this what people saw XD

  • I think...if I`m not mistaken....it`s called LIGHTNING!!!!

  • Very nice clip with mother nature and a dedicated father and his son...

  • Awesome. Seems like heat lightning, but I've never seen lightning restricted to a single cloud. Good capture...

  • ifs its lightning or a storm why isnt this guy hearing it, or why arent we hearing the thunder

  • its lightning you tool

  • Ha, first time I saw one i was like WHOA! It looked like a giant popcorn with electricity. It is a cumulonimbus cloud (thunderstorm cloud) and they lightning is zipping inside and outside of it!!! PRETTY STINKING COOL

  • dude thats a thunderstorm how did you not know

  • I think you could file that video in your video library under the letter 'C' for cloud video.

  • this guy must feel really stupid for posting this hahaha!!

  • LOL @ all of you... this video is over 4 years old and you still have shit to say. I'm just guessing, but I think he knows what it is now.

  • "been filming for three minutes, it's still going on!"

has anyone ever seen a thunderstorm last less than 3 minutes? I'm sure it was just the aliens inside the giant ship though

  • Intellectuallyhung is your screen name?...and you don't know WTF a thunderstorm looks like?

  • @PhrynosomaTexas he's tellin u in his name. think about it. i see y hes asking that question.

  • @sqottslahuud Your response makes no sense. The uploader's name is "intellectuallyhung" but he doesn't know what a thunderstorm looks like...what do you not get about the irony of that?

  • @PhrynosomaTexas hung as in dead . come on , its not that much of a fricken stretch dude.

  • @sqottslahuud Umm...it takes more a stretch to pull that meaning from your ass, but what else to expect from someone who uses the term "dude".

  • @PhrynosomaTexas pipe down rowdy fricken piper. ur way too worked up over this silliness. god forbid any body have a different point of view than ur own.

  • there are still a lot of unaswered questions regarding ligthtning formation. Lightning is supposedly the balancing of uneven electrical charge distribution. Presumably any electrical gradients are brought to zero with the discharge of a lightning bolt. It would stand to reason it would be awhile before we see an further electrical activity. Safe to suggest: such is not the case - as admirably-well demonstrated in this video. What gives? What goes on here? Your thoughts!

  • When you live in the mountains you see that all the time.

  • LOL, no offense meant, but that is just a normal thunderstorm just coming into view over the trees. I bet y'all had a nice thunderstorm that evening.

  • WOW.

  • Err lightning of course!

  • its heat lightning,,, 100%, it has to do with high humidity,

  • I have seen lightning shoot around inside of a cloud in Florida.... I have seen lightning hop from one cloud to another without ever touching the ground.... also in Florida.

  • Did you see the UFO in there

  • top of an anvil cloud?

  • dude that is just a realy big storm cloak

  • Oh yeah also check out the Project Blue Beam.

  • Hasn't anyone heard of HAARP??? All there weather modification experiments.Get informed people. You might also be interested in finding out about Chem Trails or "Persistant Con-trails" as they like to call them. All Gov't sponsered Bull.$. With our money..

  • Not inexplicable but definitely fucking cool.

  • that was pretty cool! i havent seen a lightning storm like that before

  • This is why chronic LSD users shouldn't have kids.

  • it is a ufo landing in the atmosphere, havent you ever seen independence day or close encounters??

  • its goku vs vegeta dam noobs

  • heat lightning? We get it here in NE sometimes....silent, staticy friction lightning. Quite a spectacle. ty 4 sharing.

  • cumbulonimbus

  • Single cell thunderstorm at sunset probably about 40 50 miles away all your seeing is like the top 1/3 of the storm

  • I don't know what it is either but it's pretty cool. I hope you get/got your answer. Thanks for the post!

  • its a single lightning in a cloud obviously, still good though

  • its a cloud

  • cumulus nimbus is very similaire but in scool I didnt know about the light ning

  • I dont know wat it is ither but I would give a try by saing that a experiment as gon rong or purfect .I only know that it got to be a lac under and a uge production of idrogen it must of being sunny all after noon and not a brise from mils to com mining the wind com from all cide.

  • epic falcore face at 0:08!

  • ummm.... it's a thunderhead behind a ridge

  • that is amazing i wish i see this with my own eyes

  • its a EPIC BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL orr. . . . . . THE LAST COOKIE IN THE COOKIE JAR!!!

  • no matter what it is,it's cool to catch on camera..you should upload it to the weather channel.. they love stuff like this, great video man.. :)

  • first time looking at the sky??

  • heat clouds, see em all the time :)

  • Attack of the giant electric cauliflower!

  • cumulonimbus calvus :)

  • heat lightning

  • these clouds are not very uncommon, these always happen around june/july!! i see them here all the time in oklahoma aroune end of june/july with big clouds and lightning striking thru them!

  • ITS THE CHUPACABRA haha

  • these are explainable, there are a few types of incidents of this which are mainly heat lightning as stated below,or the wrath of god haha

  • OMFG!!!...its....its..................HEAT LIGHTNING! O: seriously dude..get ur tin foil hats out, Sid! the heat lightning is invading! ahahah

  • cloaked spaceship 4 sure...

  • It's a cloaked spaceship!

  • you answered your own questions , its a fucking cloud !

  • these are scaler wave

  • @jamesjdm

even three years ago...YOU are the idiot. . it would be "they're" the contraction they are . . and why insult that other person anyway?????

  • idiots should not be allowed to use camera or youtube

  • Angels ... are in a fighting zone.

  • @Ismx9 If you have a problem with Americans, then you can call The Whitehouse at 1-800-EAT-A-DICK

  • Thank you for sharing this video. It is a very good shot of an isolated thunderstorm.

  • Could this be the most incredibly rare, strange and inexplicable phenomenon ever to grace human vision? Oh no, wait, it's just a storm.

"Most unexplainable amazing sight"... yeah, just google thundercloud, soon all will be explained :D

  • HAARP

  • @emendozer

Not Haarp its a cloud and 1 storm ..... lol you are so stupid its a clumbus Ninbus haarp guy

  • @seviization.... you're right I am, but thank God the world is full of smart ones like you, enjoy your clumbus ninbus!

  • Comment removed

  • Leave the man alone, he didnt know what it was, said he was going to ask the internet... whats wrong with that? So.... he didnt know, and now he does have an idea, fair play to him for attempting to learn rather than just baa-ing.

  • It's a Cumulo-nimbus! You must be American lol - did you go to school?!?!?

  • @lsmx9 ok now dude dont b mean...

  • @lsmx9 Stereotyping all Americans to be stupid? Well you fucking twat, maybe not everyone learns about cumulonimbus in school. Dont be a prick.

  • @riceicles123

Umm, while I don't think all Americans are stupid, myself being one, everyone does in fact learn about these types of clouds in fifth grade science class.

  • Cumulo-nimbus you dick! God Americans are so thick... Did you go to school at all?

  • @lsmx9 Is everyone in the UK such insensitive, rude pricks?

    No? Then just you. Right...

  • @chaoscleaner ismx9 is a prick.

  • @lsmx9 fuck you, im american. Also i know what that is and maybe because im american you may think i dont know. Also, its cumulonimbus calvus, you didnt think i would know exactly what type of cloud it is because IM american? Also, your the fucking thick one

  • It's just SATAN SMOKING.. NO WORRIES :)

  • Holy crap. A thunderhead. They have interior lightning all the time. The ridge screens much of the lower part of the thunderhead. And the distance and the ridge screen the sound.

  • Holy crap. A thunderhead. They have interior lightning all the time.

  • OH MY GOD A STORM!

  • happens all the time in bermuda...highly charged clouds....

  • I have saw these comming just before a bad storm and have heard them called thunder heads. Usually when you see one coming it means a storm is on the way coming from that direction

  • Well, its definately an electrical storm.....there are many electrical phenomenon that science hasn't really explained that have accounts all throughout history. Crazy rains of rocks, frogs, fish, etc. Electrical discharges that defiy explaination....the question isn't what is it., its whats causing it.......

  • sorry, that was me after taco night, yet again, sorry

  • It was me smoking a cigarette and playing around with my lighter.

  • @crdrewsthesame correction it was me opening up my jamaican hotbox and the light is me smoking a bong

  • @fight2befree420 Oh yeah! Now I remember! The cigarette was that other time that people were talking something about lightening from inside a volcano. :D

  • @crdrewsthesame lmao :P

  • It's Just a thunderhead ....The reason you cant hear any thunder is simply because the lightening in this case is primarily flashing across through the upper atmosphere where there's little to zero oxygen...

Thunder is only caused via lightening strikes when it briefly separates oxygen in it's path & the oxygen again abruptly merges again afterwards causing a clap affect..This is identical to a balloon pop on a colossal scale..

  • it caused by heat and dryness, its a thunder cloud. the red lightning you see is lightning shoot from the ground to the cloud.

  • OMG i've seen that before too. Everyday cause I live in Florida.

  • was there any thunder?

  • That is just a distant Cumulonimbus.

  • YES, I WAS 1 MILLION % SURE THAT THIS MAN IS AMERICAN. THEY ARE NOT SENTIMENTALS AT ALL AS EUROPEANS or OTHERS.

SO THEY JUST DON'T DO THINGS WITHOUT REASON!

E.G.;THEY DON'T LOOK UP TO THE SKY BECAUSE NO REASON TO DO THAT.

NOW I CHECKED HIS NATIONALITY, HE IS AMERICAN, SO THAT'S WHY HE DIDN'T RECOGNIZE A SIMPLE THUNDERSTORM and DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE WHAT IT IS. ! SIMPLE IMAGINATION! MAY BE HE IS GOOD AT ECONIMICS BUT KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT SIMPLE THINGS.

  • @TheLaughingHyena5

NO, NOT ... and NOT AN IDIOT JUST AMERICAN! MAY BE HE SITS IN HIS OFFICE ALL THE TIME and NEVER LOOKS UP TO THE SKY. INTERESTING! TYPICAL AMERICAN!!!

  • Its called a cloud?

  • Where I'm from, we call it "heat lightning." It's just lightning striking back and forth in the cloud and not coming to the ground. If it were a single cloud, it'd be weird, but it's obviously part of a large storm system. It appears to be localized because only one plume of the cloud is visible. Nothing to panic over.

  • oh my god its like electricity coming from the clouds is that possible.......................er yes its a storm cloud from a distance you fools

  • What..... A video on Youtube..... without a Chuck Norris quote..... I need to sit down for a moment!

Being serious, i think this phenomenon is called harvest lightning, at least in my country(U.K) it is. I'm not sure what causes it, but it is a strange feeling seeing lightning without the thunder. Very eerie.

The cloud i saw wasn't as big as this one, but it was still an amazing sight. Great vid btw. Ignore the clueless people trying to be offensive.

  • I THINK THIS MAY BE A ALIEN CLOUD. DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THIS?

  • Ya great vid don't listen to those other people

  • yea its called lightening dumb ass

  • It's aliens man! They use thunderstorms for stealth.

  • thats what u call global warming rolling thunder weird isnt it but bassically its a gathering of moisture that becomes super electric charged and it releases thunder upwards

  • It's a huge thunderhead cloud. Plus he is quite a ways away from it. Lightning that bright would make a large noise if you were closer. Could be the start of a lightning storm pointed directly at them. So that would be my explanation. So I don't think this is too unexplainable.

  • HOLY FUCK A CLOUD!!!! WITH LIGHTNING TOO!!! IM GONNA GO INSANE

  • great vid....dont mind all the rude comments....this is what happens when kids use the internet without parental supervision....or that there parents dont give a crap

  • dry lightning

  • Holy shit you are the first person to capture----a thunderstorm cloud! Good job! Nobody has ever seen one until now. Next question

  • @dougall3 yeah I have one-Can you stop being an ass? Douche. Don't be disrespectful, get the hell off of the page if you don't like it.

  • Could be Government experimentation... they do this kind of stuff.

  • Arnoldskit: You've never seen lightning without thunder? You should get out more!

  • its just an isolated thunderstorm in the distance, this bloke thinks 3 minutes is long ! ive seen these last for over an hour in spain and majorca, its not that unusual to get storms like this.

  • @lambtikaphall EXACTLY!!!

  • its a storm cloud. with heat lightning.

  • this guy in the vid is a boob. how do you not know what a storm cloud is?

  • what so strange about this video ? alien space craft or ship in the cloud making cover from everyone ,what's so strange ? and again....too small for stormy cloud , i they say it that they haven't heard any sound from there ,and if storm is going around ,it is at least 20x or 30x bigger than that small peace of shit in air ,it looks like only few km ,about 2 or 3 ,no more than that .

  • what so strange about this video ? alien space craft or ship in the cloud making cover from everyone ,what's so strange ?

  • No thunder?HU!, i never saw lightening without thunder! You ARE right ,there was a craft inside the cloud. It was refueling or regenerating its power supply.

Lots of footage from nasa shows them hanging around thunderstorms.

  • you cant sense vegetas power level from there?

  • @antares074 I agree. And I was so mislead by his screen name! Lol!

That's what a storm looks like from a distance you dip. Just because there's a storm doesn't mean its cloudy and stormy on the entire planet. Geez.

  • sea turtles

  • I can watch these things build but I've only ever seen one cross my garden. That was quite some years ago. One night, when I was still able to use my bicycle, I saw four of them glowing like coals in the sky. That's just what they look like, a fire grate full of glowing coals. Now I know what makes them glow like that, I'm really pleased. They're beautiful.

  • @w2hDavid lol funny who is winning? o

  • What am I not getting here? Its a lovely thundercloud, with lightening and all that comes with it. Why so flabbergasted? I don't get it. I love thunder and lighning and it is always a cool thing to see, but it is not particularly unusual.

  • charriots of the gods man!

  • its the top of a stormcloud coming over the horizen. poor kid dont have a chance with a dumbass dad like that

  • I saw that one evening in Pennsylvania. A storm front had come through the area. The atmosphere was still unsettled, and the storm itself was breaking up, but there were still cloud formations, including a big ass thunderhead like that one generating lightning. Awe inspiring to watch, but nothing mysterious.

  • poor kid has a stupid father

  • it's a friggin microburst you bloody wankers

  • It's obviously a crocodile. There was a similar one east of Canberra in February 2007 and we thought it was definitely going to eat us too!

  • Why people call for god when they see something unknown?

  • Holy crap you've never seen lightning before? Try to get out a little more often.

  • Heat lighting in a thunderhead. :/

  • omg its a cloud!

  • Funny. No one seems to acknowledge that it's a Crocodile.

  • You guys don't know what lightning is...? Good lord.

  • @CountingMagpies do you think this guy went to school?

  • lol. little kids. Well this is called a cumulonimbus clioud. It is driven by air rising really fast though the air. If that continues, you get these big clouds and they cause thunderstorms. Watch out though cause you don't wanna be caught outside during one of those.

  • Without sounding like a judgemental ass.. I'm going to have to say it appears to be a single Cumulonimbus with cloud-to-cloud lightning behind what appears to be a small ridge.. many many miles away. I also will guess you are out West, whilst I was in the Marine Corps, we trained in Cali in prepartion for Iraq; and we ran into a single gigantic storm cloud that caused hell for us on a firing range at night. But, the boy was right; those can produce tornados if several factors come together.

  • It's lightning dunbass

  • that's incredible I'm jealous.

  • DRAGONBALL Z IS REAL!!!!!

  • "somebody tell me what is is" uh yeah its lightning dude

  • "somebody tell me what is is"

    uh yeah its lightning dude

  • not actually unexplainable. it's only thunder of a cumulonimbus cloud

it goes really high so thunder is in the entire cloud as long as it has electricity

  • Does anyone know what 'heat lightning" is???

  • its just a cumulonimbus cloud with heat lightning thats why theres no thunder

  • Zeus vs. Poseidon

  • @AbderianPaizogony poseidon can't leave the water :P let alone fly :P

  • tripped out its the smallest storm ever seen haha

  • ITS THE RYNO CLOUD FROM THAT GIANT PEACH MOVIE EVERYONE RUUUUUN!!

  • volcano... and if not definitely towering cumulonimbus but in unusual form

  • thunder in the skys>?

  • It saw something like this it is steam that comes from the ground and it has static or somethin it it idk

  • I saw a cloud like this in Alaska (where I live) about 10-12 years ago, but it had really bright lights flying in and out of it.They were flying out of it, descending/ascending really quick and then flying back into it. Along with the lighting goin on just like what you have. It looks spot on to what I saw only yours is without the lights. Weird.

  • are you serious? this was explained along with the basics of life

  • yeah its pretty normal like in colorado too. We have clouds that look like the glow at night randomly. All it is, is mainly lightining inside the cloud arcing.

  • lightning is generated at the hight point of a cloud. see it all the time in florida. cool

  • Ok Rastermon has now calmed down. I suppose I was a little rude..

  • heat lightning. Explainable

  • this is beautiful , you should get award for this footage

  • @w2hDavidPyroclastic flows are fluidized masses of rock fragments and gases that move rapidly in response to gravity. Pyroclastic flows can form in several different ways. They can form when an eruption column collapses, or as the result of gravitational collapse or explosion on a lava dome or lava flow

  • its just a thunderstorm approaching from the distance.....

  • That is strange :/ to see a thundercloud is normal but just on its own in one pace is weird i never seen that before either.

  • you guys are dumb to think he DOESNT know that's a cloud. its a question asked in amazement: "what is that?" example: when someone is amazing at something, one could say, "what IS he?" in amazement. the reaction is similar to the one shown on this video.

  • Idiot! words fail to understand how you can live 20 some odd years and not know what a thunderhead is. Its called lightning. You are too far away to hear the thunder. Did I mention you are and ignorant dolt?

  • @Rastermon calm down man no need to get stressed! lol
