  • There was no better time to be a kid than the 90's. Not before or since.

  • @Darkiver This is probably the best comment I've seen.

  • wow fucking nostalgia

  • Comment removed

  • This was touched upon in other comments, but to go indepth:

It's heavily said online that the "Sandy" in the lyrics is referring to Sandra Scheuer, one of the students killed during the Kent State shootings. So, lines like the slurred,"Can you settle to shoot me?" and "Don't you talk back" have a greater meaning. And "But guiltily I thought you had it coming" could refer to the sentiment some expressed, as immediately after the shootings, Gallup Polls showed 58% of people blamed the students.

  • @Etrigan2112 Thank you for this.

  • this was good fcuking tv. now everybody jumps on the damn band wagon on whats popular.

    90s tv > todays tv

  • Spectacular.

  • Love it!

  • mondegreen central up in here.

  • I still miss this show. Hope that it gets aired as part of The '90s Are All That soon.

  • I have always looked back...I was born in 1985. Thank God I didn't have the internet right away, life still had mystery. You actually had to look through card catalogs at the library, remember that? Remember doing book reports by hand? Those of us born in the 80s had the best TV shows--remember "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" We had to play outside and get dirty, scraped knees and all that.

Let's remember who we used to be and make a good 2012....Happy Holidays to my generation!!!

  • this should have at least 10 million views by now since it was uploaded in 08. FUCK, I guess the rest of the 90's children grew up and never looked back. :(

  • @boypaslot your right this should have way more views...we need to spread it to the masses and make them remember pete n pete...one listen to this song and it will take them back to better days

  • I almost cried! I'm going to be 23 tomorrow and I really wish when shows like this came on

  • awesome guitar at 1:32

  • @Bobby61189 yeah thats the best part of the song i think

  • hey smilin' strange

  • i was born a few years too late (1998) :( im uber jealous of the 80s-90s kids

  • @clonetrooper1998 you did get to experience two years of it, so that's something :)

  • The 90's was the shit i remember when games like sega was out and even though the graphics were 16bit you still enjoyed playing it a lot regardless....Pete and pete was one of my fondest memories of my most AWESOME 90's era..

    the grunge music scene, california stoners...etc bill and ted''......The thing is i would love to get stuck in the 90's permanently and forget 2000 era never exsited....:{

  • @NigerianRocker A-fucking-men! '90s: Before the disastrous Bush administration and China rising economically. There was a time when TV, movies and music were so great. EVERYTHING has gone down the shitter since the '90s!! My heart aches when I think of how beautiful my childhood was and the state of the U.S. today. I don't think we'll ever see prosperity like we enjoyed pre-2001 in our lifetimes.

  • @jfkjrlover dude its crazy...90's music still rock after all these years, remember sound garden-black ole sun, Nirvana, Blind melon,Rem, Alice in chains, Crash test dummies,Presidents of the Usa, Smashing pumpkins and Mtv shows such as Beavis and butthead, The Head, Aeon Flux, ....When the real world was the Real world....We won't enjoy prosperity again. I mean the 90's was like the golden age for us.... And we as 90's children know how awesome that period was....

  • Somebody explain to me the reason to take 4 girlfriends, because wouldn't they just complain about the lack of facebook?

  • omg if u disliked this u suck dick, balls, and hairy ass

  • it seems like every 90s music video has kids talking about how great the 90s were and how music sucks now. you've got to realize that there was a lot of shit back then, it's just forgotten. Except for Nickelback. They're still around. And they still suck.

  • never played live, and still waiting for the next one,

  • They should put a special channel on tv for 90's Nickelodeon shows.... kinda like boomerang.

  • @TheAustinShell they already do, they run them at night on teen nick.

  • @TheAustinShell you can see some of them around midnight on nickelodeon

  • Respond to this video... you can catch a few old shows around midnight on nickelodeon but totally agree

  • Born in 93, still feel like I was born several years too late

  • Born in 88. Loved the 90s and early Nick. So sad they're gone now...

  • @ninjachimps teen nick re-runs a bunch of the stuff now. The future sucks, but you can still watch old tv shows.

  • @25tab

That is the best thing I've ever heard. Ever.

  • omg, I had this on cassette.

  • Comment removed

  • @pizzaskate420 you, me, and all the rest. We got handed the technology wand at about age 13 with the internet, AIM, MP3s.....I still program in VB today at work, I learned it in 97 on the same Pentium One running in my basement still. Respect

  • you forgot to get the orange couch

  • feeling bad for the kids right about now

  • Everybody who lived through this era is now a twenty-something and feeling old.

    Geez, I'm old.

  • @starbeastrave So true :<

  • @starbeastrave Im 18 and i watched this as a child. When i talk about the shows i watched as a child, no one my age knows what im talking about. I never understood that.

  • @lilgate1212 ´cause u born 94´ or 95´

  • @starbeastrave 26 and feeling old :( the late 80's/early 90's really was the golden age for kids tv. im storing all these shows for my children, so they dont have to watch the 'paint by numbers' shite thats on now.

  • @antcuth85

i totally feel you. i also store shows like ducktales, doug and others for my kids so they don't have to watch all these really bad "kids tv" shows that are shown nowadays. 90s tv shows were full of fantasy, humor, they were moralising and didn't benefit on sex and voyeurism like all the crap today.

btw: i'm 24, feeling VERY old by writing this :(

  • @starbeastrave alot of the people who lived through this era are much older than twenty-something.

  • @grantmorgn

Perhaps I should clarify. Every kid who grew up in this period.

  • @starbeastrave 24 going on 25 my 90s childhood friend =(

  • im 23 and was a kid through the 90s and the 2000s and saw the rise and fall of everything and now come to the conclusion that the 90s was better than the 2000s.

  • @MrFrsh2010 I think most of us who lived through the 90's have come to that conclusion. haha (I'm 21 now.)

  • @sinkissedsweeto I feel like a young ass old person LMAO!!!

  • i loved this show. At the time I was Danny Tamperelli's age ( the younger pete) looked just like and my name is Pete. It was great because i could imagine myself doing the silly crap he did in the show.

  • @linkzero2 LOL, that reminds me how I was nicknamed Pete and how people would call my brother Lil' Pete. And he looked frighteningly like Tamborelli. God bless those weird crazy memories from Nick that made us feel a little more like normal people.

  • Right, thats it. I'm building a time machine to take us all back to 1990! Who's with me?!!

  • Wherever the 90's went, I wish I could've followed.

  • This makes me want to cry so bad!!! omg!!!!! <33333333333333

  • Check out the tera melos cover of this song

best cover I've heard for this song

  • 16 people dint have cable during tha 90's.

  • Wow...RIP the 90's and alternative, post-grunge music too.

I was in grammar school when this show was new. I hated school, but it was a relief to to watch this and see weird people having fun over my annoying classmates and teachers.

I am so glad we didn't have cell phones and FB then. Or high-speed internet. Apart from video games and TV, you had to go out side and ride a bike or something.

  • it's funny how the tattoo named Petunia is actually considered a character

  • im going to cry from nostalgia XD

  • and now after a loooong time, i'm going to litsen to the complete song for the 1sts time.

  • im 21 now. it sucks.

  • @2ndXary im 23... join the club!

i wish i could go back so bad... amazing times

  • for some reason, this song makes me want to cry. I think it's because I miss being a kid

  • i credit all gang signs to pete and pete's signature thumbs up (blowing it out of their mouth).

  • This song reminds me of how stupidly I rushed through my childhood. I miss the feelings I her from hearing this.

  • step 1: build time machine

step 2: take like 4 friends and girlfriend

step3: go back to the late 80's early 90's

    step 4:destroy time machine

  • @UndoutfulShadow the girlfriend will ruin it.. they always do.... lol

  • @UndoutfulShadow i just posted this on facebook like 10 minutes.. but you cant forget to bring mass amounts of hps and mh lighting and massive amounts of california kush strein seeds...

  • @UndoutfulShadow Dude don't destroy the time machine because when the early 90s are over you'll want to go back. ha

  • @UndoutfulShadow Then how would you go back and do it again? Don't destroy it.

  • @UndoutfulShadow totally agree with u

  • 0:25

  • TO our generation those born in the 80s the 90s are to us what the 60s are to our parents

  • Never thought about it like that, but it's true -- they are always reminising about those better days and now I know how they feel.

  • @Shiek927 there is a slight difference. while the 60´s brought new oportunitys and a whole new way of thinking to the generation of these days, you are sitting lonely in front of a screen and cry after tv shows

  • Yeah, it's awesome XD

  • Man I miss this sound...

  • Have a hard time listening to this song, because it brings back too many memories. Great, show, great time the 90's, different times, better times :(

  • THIS SONG IS OBVIOUSLY ABOUT KENT STATE WHEN YOU TRULY LISTEN TO THE LYRICS

  • No soy ta viejo como ustedes, pero en la pequeña retransmicion que se hizo por el canal once hizo que quedara prendado para toda la vida de esta serie...

esta es por ti mi amada petunia

  • Buena cancioon, buenos tiempos!

  • 90S NICKELODEON SHOWS COMING BACK JULY 25!!!

  • I want my childhood back......reality sucks

  • That guitar solo makes me weep for my childhood.

  • CLASSIC!!!!!!!

  • watching the penny episode right now

  • You never know how good things are until they are gone.

  • i have the first 2 seasons of this show on dvd and the 3rd season never got released and that just makes me sad b/c that was my favorite season

  • It is not just the nostalgia talking. The '90s actually WAS a better time.

  • @slantbeard Everyone's nostalgia is the same; everyone WAS nicer and things WERE simpler because...well, we were just kids. Besides, digital-wise, this is like television in the 60s.

  • Just watched an episode last night, it had Michael Stipe in it.

    Awesome

  • What people will never get is that kids who grew up on the 90's knew what real childhood was about...music was real, memories were real, happiness and games were real, friendship was real...everything was real.

  • @queenNichita Man, that's the most true thing I've ever read in a comment. The 90's had something this new gen didn't have. Back then music meant something and wasn't the same generic BS. Games back then weren't about Multiplayer, FPS, headshots, or any of that. Back then games were fun and the only form of competition was high scores. Friendships weren't eaten up with so much drama and drugs that they fell in on themselves like today. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'mma go enjoy my nostalgia.

  • BORN 1987 FUnny everyone born in the 1980s are at least 21 now fawk tyme sux im just grateful i grew up when nick AND cartoon network was awesome

  • God... I'm old now. That like sucks and stuff.

  • so fuckin nostalgic

  • I want my 90's back

  • Most of my 90s listening was all the old school Rap Eazy E,DJ Quik,2 short,Nate Dogg,NWA, ect but this song defines the 90s for me (: Always takes me back to youth

  • bay area kid born in '89, grew up with music, shows and entertainment that will never be matched. i am thankful to be a 90's kid, but will forever miss those times

  • Comment removed

  • I'm lucky to be born in 1986. I had a glimpse of life in the pre-digital era. It was fantastic. People were happier, friendlier and we had the best music and tv shows too.

  • @YSHTLWR I agree. I was born '86 too and the nostalgia is sometimes heart wrenching.

  • @YSHTLWR Me too. Born in 1987. I'm glad I was somewhat old enough to remember the early to mid 90's, great times. I wish I was 23 in 1993 instead of now...

  • @andreww1212 x2 :(

  • @2666ification Troll harder. That doesn't make a bit of sense. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

  • @YSHTLWR 1986 master race

  • Dude! Steve Buscemi is in this show? What the H?

  • the 90s was awesome, compared to what we have now, sad really.

  • miracle legion were such an awesome band

  • hey I don't have a TV anymore the PC replaced it and I can have a Camcorder to make movies at home. I think that's better than the 90s losers hated the real world back then too. they just watched TV and played D&D or nintendo instead of hanging out on my space and face book. times really haven't changed as much as advertising would lead you to believe.

  • @RantingGeorgiaJew sounds like u dnt have much of a life if u just spend ur day in front of a pc. tsk3.

  • @RantingGeorgiaJew sounds like you either didn't live in the 90s or were oblivious to the things that made it great

  • @RantingGeorgiaJew Mate if you don't think life or people have changed since the 90s your the one living in a bubble. Theres always things that stay the same but 90s compared to now is a completely different world. There are some unchanged pockets but really attitudes, lifestyles, interests etc have all changed vastly since then. Same as will happen in 20 years from now and happened 20 years before the 90s. Change isn't bad just enjoy the time you live in and expect the unexpected!

  • @stunner38 But change should not be imbraced blindly. Not all change is good. I wouldn't consider the change that happened in Europe 70 years ago a good one. Which is how that began. People slowly accepting change until it was too late.

  • cocaine is...one hell of a drug

  • @SXENedger 90s=X, nuff said

  • RELEASE SEASON 3!!!!

  • free your mind, I love you

  • No drugs in the 90's? What planet did you live on in the 90's?

  • People who bitch about missing the "good old days" are lame.

  • 0:27

  • RIP the 1990's.

You will be missed forever and ever and ever :(

  • @Mikeraske Indeed...but songs like this one stemmed out of the 80's, and have more in common with that decade and the 70's than with the 90's.

  • What the fuck does Pete & Pete have to do with drugs? Are you all fucking retarded?

  • @LordPaynus Oh you must have missed that "very special episode of Pete and Pete." It''s the one where we find out that Artie, the Strongest Man in the World, is actually taking human growth hormone. As a kid, it was tough to watch- one of my heroes...a complete fraud. Oh well, at least I still have Barry Bonds!

  • @triton2toro

wow.. that joke was horrendously unfunny. i mean it hurt to read it, it was that bad.

  • @triton2toro haha that made me laugh.Good job.:)

  • @Mikeraske AMEN

  • @Mikeraske

Teen Nick is bringing it back.

  • @theoriginal72 I was talking about the 90's in general, not just Nickelodeon. But yeah, i heard the news yesterday. Very excited :)

  • @Mikeraske the 90s live on bro

  • @Mikeraske can't think of a decade compared to it The last generation where the kids were let to think for themselves.

  • anyone who says there were less drugs in the 90s than now is a fucking retard with their nostalgia goggles on too tight. do you know how fucking huge ecstasy was back then? ever stop to think that maybe it just seems that way because you were only like 6 back then, and that obviously you weren't as exposed to it as you are now.

  • @000BatFuck000

drug use has gone up steadily since the end of the 80s bro. look up the statistics.

  • yea, Kurt and the gang were sober

  • there is greater creativity now then in the 90s the fact is there's more everything right now then there ever was before now. and I believe that's almost always been true.

  • ok as a child of the 90s i love it alot more than the next guy and realise it was a time of real crativity in lots of art forms especially music, but we need to stop righting off the creatvity that is going on right now, ok so most mainstream stuff is pretty shitty but if you search there are some amazing people doing amazing things like jeffrey lewis for example who writes beautfiul poignant music and draws wonderfull animations to accompany said music

  • let's go back (to the 90's)...hey sandy :D

  • Pete

    Pete

    Mom

    Mom's Plate

    Dad

    Ellen

    Mona

    Artie

    and Petunia

    Good times, yeah!

  • @LON009

    Nona before Artie?

    What madness is this?

    (Good time madness indubitably)

  • @LON009 they should of given a show dedicated to mom's plate

  • @LON009 inside out boy

  • god this takes me back Ive been singing the line "but guilty i thought you had it coming" off and on in my head for 17 years now (god i feel old)

  • that solo makes me so happy

  • I love this song !

  • This theme song fills my heart with such JOY. God, to go back to the 90's. I'm glad I got to live every day of them as a kid (89 baby).

  • I fucking miss this show, and love the music.

  • This was the greatest show Nickelodeon EVER aired... This show was so smart and on such a different level.

This theme song is also just as memorable, 20 years later and I still think about it.... Just amazing!

  • why do i get so emotional hearing this song? i didn't even watch this show as a kid. could it be that this theme is truly an amazing song

  • Nickeldeon sucks big dicks nowadays with that stupid boy band show.

  • definitely a quintisential 90s song

  • What a Memories :D

  • 14 people who dont understand amazing american pop culture dont like this. Sad, sad in individuals.

  • YAYYYY haha.

  • everyone says that supposedly the eighties and seventies were the best times to grow up in depending on the age of the people you ask. more then a good time I was a good age and being a kid is awesome whenever you do it.

  • @RantingGeorgiaJew People like to romanticize the past. Every decade has good and bad things going on in art.

  • @RantingGeorgiaJew You are exactly right my friend. People need to realize it's not the decade so much as it is being a kid and not having the responsibilities we have now. That said, the 90s were great.

  • traurig wenn man zurück denkt wie vergänglich die guten alten zeiten sind!!!!:(

  • @kmkforlifem13k

    ja :(

  • 90's were the shit, hands down

  • Pete, Pete, Ellen, Artie, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Endless Mike, Stu Benidict....How many characters can you remember from this kick ass show without looking them up?

One of the best opening theme songs a show ever had!

  • @discolemonade66

Pete, Pete, Artie, Mom, Dad, Ellen, Grandpa, Endless Mike, Pit Stain, Mr. Tastee, and Nona. I can't remember who Stu Benidict is.

  • @tredlow can't forget 'Mom's Plate'

  • @MarcSpicoli

    D'oh, right! That's kinda sorta a character, I guess.

  • This songs really chill.

  • there was an collective conscious in the 90s. I grew up on pet and pet and it will always be with me

  • Bush killed the '90s.

  • @Roddeo29 well he was only president for like the 1st 3 years
