When I was in the Army in 1998 I was stationed in Germany. I used to date this German girl. I introduced her to Siamese Dream and she went nuts over it, all her friends got into the Pumpkins after that. I felt really proud to share such an awesome musical experience with them.
there shoudl be music liek this still insted we have shitty music and i can even bare to listen to the dam radio its horribale . if there is a god bring back music liek this please !!!!!!!!!!
I love this album, I remember liking "cherub rock" first. After I got the album I was amazed by how good it was. I couldn't stop playing it. I still think of it as a masterpiece of indie rock.
no that guy is the worst, he stated that he listened to underground music while looking like that and wearing an soad shirt, and cant recall one of the most prominent albums of all time yea i would like to know what genius "underground" (wink wink) bands he listens to
well ur a big fucking douche bag and we all know that one... i mean ur name is guitar chode man wat the fuck are u trying to get across with that name.. that ur a giant chode. any way u seem like the type of person that would name a song that u co wrote with a band member vague which sounds like a fancier way to say fag... kinda like faig.. like they would in europe.. so basically ur a fag hahahahahahaha
yeah, I figured that after I read the comment again and thought about it. I would do something like that to my freinds to. Sorry for jumpin the gun bro.
HA! the guy in the System Of a Down t-shirt just stepped out of an early 90's time-warp! he wasn't 3 in 1993! he was walking around saying "oh bro, that's so bogus!" in an Airheads/wayne's world stylee!! i haven't seen a 'do' like that in so long.
in 1993 i was 13. Siamese Dream i played that album to death, when i listen to that album it always takes me back to being 13 kinda miss the early 90's.
Siamese Dream and my Super Nintendo was the best thing about the early 90's for me.
its funny because you can tell that these people ,if they really do like smashing pumpkins as much as they do, are the kind of people who only like SP because of Mellon Collie. Yet in my opinion Mellon Collie is just as great as Siamese Dreams, in the sense that both albums take you places. Mellon Collie takes you through angst and fear and pain and Siamese takes you through the joy and possibilities of life. I love SP!
Yea, but I think Mayonaise was one song that was hidden but was still the impiety of Smashing Pumkins, if you know what I mean. Its the same as Pink Floyd's Marooned, sure it's not well known to other progressive rockers, but it's an awesome song none the less (should check it out, David uses the Digitech Whammy Pedal, same one that Tom Morello uses).
I cant wait for the Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness 15th anniversary cause that was my first album that came out in 1995(yeah i was born on 95)
these peopel are cool, rock now is SHIT all the new stuff is like MAD METTALLLL theres not singing. btu there are a few good bands liek mcr, escape the fate and like breaking benjamin
Dave I smell what your cooking! At the time, they were just a band, though a cool one. Looking back-its clear how great they are. I was in 8th grade when Meloncholy came out, Kurt was still warm-and It was clear how profound the Pumpkins were becoming. Now its quite clear. And I agree the scene now is so much different, in both good and bad ways.
It's amazing how many people DO NOT know what impact SP had on the music world. I grew up through it all and it wasn't all glitz and glamour like you guys think. MTV was playing TLC and LL COOL J more than SP and Nirvana. You guys make me feel old, too. Hell, I was only born in 1981.....
heh, that is always something that makes me feel old, when the guy asks "where were you in the early 90's?" and they answer "oh, we were like 2 or 3...
ugh I was going to pumpkin shows and in high school in the 90's. Time flies
Glad Billy's back putting out new music though, look forward to more.
lol i love how they're all like " i have no idea..." then he goes "anything you'd like to say to the SP?" and they're like "yeah, your a major influence billy!" lols no good at lying methinks....
Im ashamed to live near Vancouver. Those people were stupid but they were totally right about todays music scene. Im so proud to have been born in 1993, being one of the best years for music.
I started listening to The Smashing Pumpkins back in 95. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was the album that got me into them. I was about 13 years old. At that time, everyone in school was listening to Mariah Carey or Boys 2 Men or something. Whenever I told them that I was into alternative rock, they laughed at me. But I didn't care. The only thing that mattered to me back then was my raw emotions whenever I put on the album and cranked up the volume in my headphones.
I can proudly say I was a Smashing pumpkins fan in 1993 and I still am :D. I absolutely love them and always will. They are one of the original and tasteful bands who helped define that era. And these people were right, music now is a disgrace and we commercialize it way to much with Hannah Montanah, Jonas Brothers, High School Musical, etc. It's no longer about the music but about the money. We need more musicians who actually create their own music instead of buy it! Billy you rock!!!
fucking disgraceful how most of these people don't know who the Smashing Pumpkins are. I'm willing to bet that they've heard of the fucking Jonas Brothers.
1993 was a good year in music. Pretty much 90-98. That album was the soundtrack to my high school year. Music was so much better than then today. MTV actually played video and 120 Minutes was a great show. That year the pumpkins played Geek USA live for the Halloween show Commercial and celebrity culture ruin music and America. Thank for nothing N' Stink, 98 Disease and Brittney. I hope you people that killed good and exciting music also get...well, I don't like to wish harm on people.
siamese dream what an album, the pumpkins best! fell in love with dat album years ago the guitar work is fantastic. the world needs sum way 2 get billy corgan depressed and broke again so we can have more of these songs!!
Siamese Dream is easily the best Smashing Pumpkin album, there was not a single bad song in that album and thats not me being biased but telling the truth. Not only that but it really did push the boundaries, no album before it used over-dubbing as well as they did, the drumming was playful and goes hand and hand with the guitar and the lyrics were emotional and very poetic, a genius album and it really is one of the best albums of all time. Soma, Silver Fuck,SpaceBoy,Hummer, mayonaise rocked!
Hard to pick a favourite track but Hummer is up there, a magnificent song, the outro is one of the most sublime pieces of music I've ever heard in ANY genre. Incredible.
two years ago i had a tough period when i discovered the song "zero". I had a burned record with machina, mellon collie and siamese, and just after zero, siamese started with cherub rock. MAN! Listening to the whole album changed me and it followed me out of the darkness and many of the songs are connected to good stuff, like hummer is connected to my first real love...I was born in 1993...If billy corgan ever reads this, You're my fucking hero. please never die.

well back in 1993 i was a year old, so i didnt know what the fuck was going on. but the smashing pumpkins are 100x better than any band from this time frame.
I was in 7th grade that year. I first heard of SP late '94, early '95. I have loved their awesome unique distinctive music ever since. NEVER RETIRE!! YOU NEED TO GET YOUR FAME BACK!!! SAVE ALTERNATIVE ROCK PLEASE!!!
On guitar hero 4 they will have Geek U.S.A . . . accually uhh This is the setlist guitar hero makers came up with now, so it may not be the song on gh4. Anyone know if this is fact or myth, someone tell me!!!
What a great album! My favorite of all time! I love smashing pumpkins with all my life!!!! They're just great!...but i don't like some people in the video...the three guys in orange said very stupid things...
hey people check out my video i made for the smashing pumpkins.....this song is included.....check it out and post ur comments.....the video is capturing the top pumpkin songs

But I remember, some years back, I was looking through the old entertainment shelf, and I found Siamese Dream.
At first glance, I was like, "What the hell is this?"
Then I put it in the sterio, and that was the day SP became my favorite band. At the wee age of 11.
Anywho, lol. These people...Well, all I can do is sigh at them.

what was i up to in 93? i was only born in 94
what do i think when i hear the album name? twin dreams
what do i think the song disarm is about? the guy on 2:00 explains it all
what do i think of music today? for rock there are still some good things going around but other than that its all about rap and the jb

Today is going to be on Rockband 2 for sure.
On guitar hero 4 they will have Geek U.S.A . . . accually uhh This is the setlist guitar hero makers came up with now, so it may not be the song on gh4. Anyone know if this is fact or myth, someone tell me!!!
But for sure Today will be on Rockband 2
