I wish people would just stop, Ace today is sober. He does not want 2b in KISS. Tommy does a great job being Ace, the solo's on Sonic Boom are artistically changed ... really they are not changed however, re-incarnated to bring new life to the hero w/ all grew up with. For those who feel Ace of yesterday is gone, your right ! The new Ace, sober Ace and his new effort Anomaly compares right up there ( if not better ) w/ the new kiss album ! There both awesome w/ Ace being paramount !!!

If someone had to replace Ace to keep KISS going, Tommy was an excellent choice. LIke he has said, he's not a substitute, he is the lead guitarist of KISS. Tommy has put the hard yards in for many years before he joined the band, he deserves it and is being very humble as well.

Thayer is a faster, more fluid, more consistent and technically better player. Any guitar player watching the two will tell you that. Thayer had to RETEACH Frehely his solos on the reunion tour because Ace forgot them or couldn't play them. But I agree with you - Ace wrote those solos and deseves credit. Too bad Ace is a racist Nazi drunk or he might still be in the band. He wrote some great shit.

Hey John- like I said previously- Ace wrote those solos and deserves credit. I agree that Ace Frehley ruled back in the day. But Gene and Paul could only play with a guy who was always late, drunk, high, racist and anti Jew for so long. Do I wish Ace was still in the band? Sure! But Ace preferred the party, and it's everyone's loss. Ace quit the band so you can't blame Thayer anyway. Ace was my favorite back in the day, but nothing lasts forever.

Peter couldn't keep up and Ace was drunk half the time, then they constantly cmplained about money even though they were traveling in limos and staying in five star suites. Watch "Rock the Nation" it's actually, musically, better than the farewell tour. It's a much tighter "machine". why blame this all on Gene? Ace and Peter quit, sold their trademarks and quit. Drag.

They only see KISS as those 4 faces. Look what happened when they toured for creatures. No one went. A sad situation.

Yes, but he had different makeup. He was loved in Australia but in AMERICA they were totally rejected. I saw the Creatures of the Night show in St. Louis, there was less than 3,000 people in attendance in a 12,000 seat venue. The tour went bankrupt. Everyone kept complaining "they don't even have Peter or Ace". I went by myself, my freinds wouldn't go. So you either support the band or stay home. Your choice. Thanks/.

I find this point interesting. Australia, as a market place, didn't really know the band before Eric. Like many I had been exposed to the solo albums, Alive 2 & Dynasty but that wasn't the case for everyone. I think Oz in 1980 was just keen to see the band, Eric was the drummer that played and we were happy. You have to remember that the Beatles had a replacement drummer out here(no Ringo) and AC/DC had recently replaced the late Bon Scott with Brian the butcher.. and the Americans love him!

That said, I'm glad that Singer & Thayer are helping to keep the band moving. Since 1995 Kiss have really built a relationship with the Oz Fans thanks to Kulick, Carr, Singer & Thayer. In 80, 97 & 01 Ace showed up pissed &/or stoned. In 01 Peter threw a tantrum and didn't show and for the Symphony just didn't seem to be able to cope. Neither Ace or Peter have toured here solo. Kulick & Singer do it regularly & Stanley has done too. Ace & Peter have not shown Oz fans the respect we deserve
