haha i wasn't bustin your chops or anything - the tune is actually in E mixolydian (dominant seven sound) and that G natural is just a #9, actually. bottom line is that they sound beautiful.
i LOVE when Patitucci plays with a bow. i often forget listening to so many players who play double bass with their fingers how amazing it sounds

its in major. the whole thing. the 2nd note john plays is G#, the major third.

It's actually for the most part in E phrygian dominant, because of the b2, b6, and b7 in the bass melody.
