I was just reading Tony Blairs book (British prime minister when this occured) he was writing about a plane going off the grid (turned out it was a technical glitch) but in seconds he was talking about sending out fighter planes and shooting it down. Two, the only way the fighter jets could kill American citizens were if they had clearance from the President himsel, but no one could reach the president.
