Right multiple outs. He only needs three. thus left hand is 5, right hand which he did not show is the red card and if we had picked the middle card he would have turned it over to show a not that says, I knew you;d pick this one.
I'm guessing the psychology of the effect is, he mentioned both the ace of hearts and the 4 of clubs, he did not mention anything about the 5, which in the spectators mind, he thinks he's making a selection that your not even leaning towards, a little confusing, yes....or you simply have a prediction in different spots , correct?

when he points to the ace and four, he uses 5 fingers. also, ace plus four = 1+4 which equals 5, so u subconsiencly pick 5.
