  • This was the only part of this movie that I liked!!! I bought the soundtrack and played this song like a million times!!! I love this song the original and Terence's version too

  • TTD is now called SANANDA MAITREYA

check his awesome new music, the official you tube page

youtube . com / maitreya sananda (with no spaces)

    he is still THE BOMB!!!

  • Belíssima música e mais belaa interpretação do Terence... Pena que não ouvimos boas músicas assim nas rádios.

  • to be hated...oh,what a feeling.

  • WELL T AND J VOICE'S ARE NOT THE SAME BUT T HAD A LOT MORE POWER AND RAWNESS THEN J ,

  • Definitely shafted by the music business. He's phenomenal. What a voice - love him so much! Definitely one of my all-time fave singers.

  • one of the greatest !

  • damn..what a voice

that white guy couldn't keep up

  • Terence Trent D'arby is great!!!

  • its a wig but he did cut his dreads

  • OMG- watch & listen to this, then, listen &

watch the "REAL DEAL"- Jackie Wilson!!!!

Terence Trent D'Arby, ok he did his thing,

but- playing JW, no, sorry- nobody can play Jackie. I saw this R&R Bio pic made

for tv, it was kinda awful.. although he does resemble J. a little- for me, I have all

ways maintained, Blaire Underwood should play Jackie, I'm just sayin'. M*

  • Is this a tv show?

  • dang he cut the dreds

  • Sananda (Terence Trent D'Arby) one of the most underrated performers ever. Check out his version of A Change is Gonna Come- even Sam Cook would be proud

  • as a white Irish male, i would love that white guy to shut up and let ttd or satanda do jakie justice!!!

  • FUCKIN AY!!! hes not worthy to sing with sananda hence his shit non unique voice

  • eat your words bitch

  • is this amovie or a tv series? Can you buy it on dvd.

  • I think he sounds more like sam cooke..and resembles him more..so idk why they chose jackie wilson for him

  • I wouldve laughed my ass off if TTD wouldve stopped the guy right when he started singing like ..."WTF you doin man"? Who was this movie based on anyways?

  • lol now that would b very funny

  • Love TTD and Jackie - they sound nothing alike, but I guess it wasn't necessary for this tv movie. It's yet another scene about a black person teaching a stiff white person how to get in touch with their heart and soul! LOL

  • He kinda looks like Jackie but hes kinda like a cross between Sam Cooke and Jackie wilson. This other dude is kinda killing the scene.

  • I agree totally. Terrance/Sananda is awesome in here omg what a feeling to be loved.....

that man is totally killing the scene with his jive self. Terrance/Sananda sounds so good and he is a perfect Jackie. he could also play sam. Love it , Love it!

  • sexy voice

  • he don,t come close to MR. EXCITEMENT however, he looks like him. also, i dig the song.

  • I dig the song too, Jimmy, I dont see

him looking At all like Jackie, no one

looks like Jackie, nor can sing like him...

but I thought YOU might like this video.

Hope you enjoyed it, please take care-

    Best, M*

  • What a beautiful voice, Terrence needed no help.

  • jackie wilson is my all time fav- ttd has done this song justice. luv it

  • Terence has such a special voice, fantastic! When this was recorded?

  • I wish could see this mini-series. While I LOVE Terrence Trent D'arby I don't think his voice was well suited to play the part of Jackie Wilson - or he could have tried to do an impersonation rather than using his own unique vocal style. I'm a big fan of any/all classic soul and bio-pics of birth of rock and roll era artists.. This is one of the few I haven't seen.. damn.

  • Very awesome to see this again. I don't I saw it since it was originally broadcast on CBS back in the 90's. And this was at a time when "Sananda Maitreya" as he's now called kinda lost some of his U.S. popularity. But it was no surprise to see him play Jackie Wilson since that is one of his biggest musical heroes.

  • terence cut his hair?

  • This sounds familiar. Did Otis Redding cover this? Or someone else?

  • Jackie Wilson

  • hahahahahahahahahahaah

  • Genius!

  • hey is there anyone who can tell me how I can get a copy of this mini series

  • Do you know the Jackie Wilson version.....To Be Loved.....its amazing....

Terence is great here though...is he playing the part of Jackie Wilson..sorry, I just came across the vid.....:)

  • Okay, then you just answered my question! THanks.

  • hey, the white guy messes the whole thing up, why wouldn't he just stand there & watch the master do his thang... :(

  • i thought the same thing! the other guy needed to just shut up and sit his butt down, and let terence do his thing, lol.

  • aaah holy shit, i think i'm gonna cry in a few....

  • thanks for posting this!!! its my favorite part of this movie! i have a terrible copy on an old vhs haha

  • I have this on VHS as well, and the last time it was played it stopped directly after this part. TTD/Sananda RULES!!

  • Dear Sananda,

if love sounds like your voice, then love me...please, love me

  • LOL!!! Sorry but I can't listen to this without thinking of "Akeem" in Coming to America!!! Great voice though

  • Excuse me. I meant that this miniseries doesn't get repeated play on CBS. I only heard about the miniseries just 2-3 years ago and it premiered in 1999-2000.

  • I love this artist!!!

    check out his current music,

    google Sananda Maitreya

that's his new name since 2001

    ROCK ON SANANDA MAITREYA!!!

  • I don't get it. Shake, Rattle, and Roll was on PBS in 1999 and yet I never heard of the miniseries before nor does it ever get repeated on PBS. Is this deliberately on purpose do make sure that Sananda continues not to be heard in the mainstream? Someone help answer this question and is it possible that I can order the miniseries online.

  • ..Faithfull at himself, Sananda; simply genius.

    True love

    Maï

  • thank you darling for sharing

  • to be loved -truly, what a feeling, but the greatest feeling of all is to love someone, to feel that power, that greatness in your heart!!!!!
