I was in sixth grade when this joint came out and me and my boys you to listen to this everyday in school during our 10 AM break. I miss the old school!!!!
Part of the beat's script is flipped towards the end of the song (during the final verse when Moe Dee is shouting out all of his homeboys from back in the day). Go to Project Playlist, search for Kool Moe Dee, and listen to the version they've got there, and you'll notice that the beat there is different in the last four bars. That's the version regularly circulated around the Internet.
This is from the ORIGINAL CD/7" inch record player version from 1987 (you'll notice this if you stop and hear the various scratches during various parts of the rap). The rerelease has an upgraded melody.
Glad to see that I was right, then! Thanks for telling me. This was the very first version that came out... and I'm very fortunate to own it. Not a lot of people have managed to acquire it (and even rarer is the liner notes with the grade breakdown for popular hip hop/rap groups at the time). ^_^
This and all of the 80's and 90's rap hip hop and new jack swing are my joint

Dying, nah, I ran through the back yard
Trying to get into my building
Thinking, "Why in the heck won't somebody kill them?" LMAO

I noticed nothing different about it... The other versions must be the uncommon ones.

All right, then. In any event, I'll change the title immediately. Thanks for telling me. Sorry about that. I apologize immensely. <:-)
