Amateur dramatics? This is art! A great poet-playwright's greatest (and next-to-last) play, collapsing the supernatural, naturalism, family drama, and myth into two characters, eerie verse, and on a Noh-influenced single set/stage. Considering the dark intensities in so short a piece, the actors are exceptional. The black-and-white enhances it, as though it's almost an old-time teleplay. Beautiful!...
Thanks very much for your reply, Dean. I enjoyed watching the production and have used parts of it to good effect when discussing the play with students.
