  • i got a new guitar for christmas and now even when the amp is set on clean its still got a muffled distortion sound

  • fender ams are yuck, even line 6 are better

  • What is tony's guitar??

  • If anyone doesn't already know what these guys are talking about they don't deserve to own a Fender Deville.

  • The cat with the Cab hat and full body, is his name Marty Schwartz? Also where can I find a copy of his stuff? Does he have an e-store or web page?

  • SERIOUSLY HOW MANY CHANNELS DO YOU HAVE GUY ON LEFT IM YELLING

  • What's your opinion on the Fender Mustang II solid state amp with 8 different amp models in one vs one like the fender frontman without all the presets

  • You didn't mention Marshall ONCE.

  • If you put on the Captions at 3:40 it says "and it's not having to your house is necessarily crank in order to get this birth defect fraction" Hahaha its so funny!

  • Venite qui in Sicilia a fare un concertino!!!

  • hehe funny intro!!!

  • Fender Amps are really the BEST for Blues and...got a Junior, it changes my life!!!LOL, Marty & Friends, i'm watching u from France, so keep goin' on, i like your vids& lessons, SweetSoundofMusic, C U.

  • Fenders are always recommended but does anyone have any opinions about Pignose amps for blues?

I have a 40W all-tube Pignose combo with a 10" speaker. Seems pretty awesome to me but I don't have any experience with other tube amps.

  • @BlackAngusYoung Muddy Waters used and recorded with a Pignose. You can't get much more of a recommendation than that! I like Orange myself, he used those at times also. But Pignose are great.

  • @jkomen Well, that's sweet! I didn't know that.

I like Orange too. I plan to get an Orange amp as soon as I can... the 20W Crush with effects built in. For practising and studying.

  • "well first of all; you guys need to sell your pos modeling amps and go get a $700 all tube amp."

You get character and recognition with a tube but you're limited. There's just no way us cheapskates can get tons of tones with a budget w/o modeling

  • i got a 100 watt all tube amp for $500 at guitar center- things a beast too definately better tone than i get from my solid state with the modeling

  • Dude, can you please make a turorial for Cemetery by Say Anything?

  • IF YOU PLAY GUITAR ADD ME!!

  • hahaha dude..

that intro was kinda cheesy XD

  • marty+tony= kickass

  • its funny cuz I have a 1966 fender bassmantube amp, and he mentioned that in the video. But I love my marshall tube amp too. Personally for crunch marshall sounds the best. Bu for a clean tone the fender.

  • If you like this kind of Blues you should check out the album Sideways In Paradise with John Mooney and Jimmy Thackery.

  • My amp is a Vox vt50 valvetronix and it sounds GREAT on either blues or rock ... but I agree an all tube sounds better... damn I wish I had one now...

  • great guys ! tony is good songwriter ! awesomes songs ;) thx Marty for sharing

  • tony is just shaking his head yes while marty is telling him he can jam. haha hes like yes yes i know i can. haha t

  • Marty and Tony... you guys are making me want to take a day or two off and just play around with my guitars and amps and record a little something something.

  • @Bujin1030 I did take the day off. I just worked 12 or 13 days straight, and decided I needed some "me/guitar" time

  • @Bosshog..... I agree pal ! I played a mid priced washburn for a few years and it had great tone for blues as well as awesome metal sound thru a decent pedal. I think most Wasburns are used for hard rock and metal tho....not that i know S#$& about how hot of pickups or w/e , but they do serve their purpose well for the people who prefer them.

  • Hey Marty ... Tony !! I have been wondering to myself, who Tony reminds me of or why his voice is familiar. Well , Listenin to the track you do with that hollow body gibson, and your voice, you guys ever hear of Leon Redbone. Your voice reminds me of his COOL , SWAGGERING, MELLOW MOOD OF VOICE. Hope the reference dosent date me to much or offend. You guys keep on rockin ! Peace

  • i have a Fender Reverb sidekick amp its a great blues amp

  • as someone who owns a CV squier and a MIM strat, I can say that the fender is at least 5 times better sounding than my squier. there's really not much of a comparison at all. the squier isn't bad- it's OK- but it's not much compared to my fender MIM.

  • I would agree with the comment completely. In fact, I really like my MIM strat, and have changed the tuners, pickups and nut to make it even better. Right now I really think it's better than the standard American strat. I own an American strat and a Music Man Silhoutte. The Music Man is by far the best guitar I have ever played. My budget was unlimited when buying that guitar, and settled on the Music Man because of tone, quality, fit, finish, and versatility.

  • @jasong1509

I like my MIM better than any other strat I have played. I've got some new pickups and a new nut and the thing plays like a dream. The neck is PERFECT

  • you guys should seriously check out Washburn guitars. AMAZING blues sound for not much money. I got my Washburn WI45 for 350 bucks, and some say its a better guitar than the gibson les paul. even if your not into blues, it sounds pretty awesome with metal, punk, and even better when im playin AC/DC

This guitar I got was awesome, its just Washburn doesnt advertise well, so i thot i would help em out. no im not being payed to say it. :) Seriously, one of you dudes should check washburn out.

  • awesome video :P 5 stars :)

  • it's all about how ya play. well 80 percent, heh

  • I have a Squier and a MIM, and the MIM plays and sounds so much better.

  • i have a sweet fender amp, but to be honest my orange amp gives me, personally for my taste the best blues sound if im using my strat or tele i think the orange just sounds awesome

  • fender champ 600 is cool but obviously only 5 wats and its a bit bright with a strat.you realy gotta spend a grand on an amp to get quality

  • So the blues/country sound is coming out of fenders?

I have a line 6 that I will try to get the sounds out of its a decent amp but now that I play more often and slightly better I am thinking of a fender

    thoughts

marty thanks for the great vids

and folks I have the dvd blues from MS and it is worth it

    really makes playing fun

  • i love the flex tone 3 but my mate has an all vale vox ac 30 and its lovely

  • Marty, please, make the video "Guitar amps and pedals for rock" ;D Please

  • PLEXI FOREVER

  • 5 Stars

  • For beginners that want that tube sound. Can i recomend 5w tube amps. Fender,Peavey, vox and marshall make them.

there pretty loud too for 5w!.

  • @08Wylde Dont forget the Epiphone Valve Jr ;)

  • yeah,i get it, if you can afford a good tube fender amp( very expensive) and a good guitar like fender, gibson etc ( very expensive), you can have a great bluesy tone...

unfortunately i can't afford any of these...

  • Squier CV Strat/Tele - $350

Fender Blues Jr. - $500 retail, $300-350 ebay

  • Mexican Fender Strat $300 ebay and in dandy shape, though I bid on a half-dozen before I got mine.

  • @Kaisean squier's suck ass

  • Going to have to disagree. If you look closely at the specs, the Fender MIMs are virtually identical to the Squier CVs. The extra $200 you pay on retail has more to do with the brand name and labor cost going into the product with MIMs being from Mexico and Squiers coming mostly from China and Korea. The only possible major factor in tone would be the difference in the type of Alder used for the body, but considering you'll be playing into an amp with gain it doesn't make a tremendous difference

  • but squier in general is just gay and there a knock off of fender if ur gonna bye a cheap guitar bye an agile they make knock offs of les pauls and there about 250-350 and acctually pretty good

  • squier isn't a knock off, tis licensed by fender, and their late 80's models were pretty good

  • i just personaly dont like them i think they arnt made that well id rather play a mexican strat than a squier

  • they are good for beginner guitars, but what I like are their custom vibe series. I've played both a CV 50's and a MIM standard and they are very hard to distinguish sound and feel wise. But Yea I would probably take a MIM standard over a CV in terms of build quality and reliability.

  • fender owns squire- its made in china and uses lower grade woods and lamanates instead of solid wood- the electronics are the same tho and that is where most of the tone comes from

  • electronics are NOT the same in a squire as a fender! fender USA is much better.

  • well yeah but those are their top lines- a mexican fender and a sqier will have same electronics but different woods- - the fender usa has upgraded electronics thats why they cost so much more

  • are you talking guitars or amps? the squire amps suck nuts - i wasnt sure which you meant so im sorry if i sound like a dick in my other comment

  • Yeah, i agree with the blues jr, great amp, but the squier isn't very good though.

Besides that, i live here in Brazil, so you can add some importation taxes(like 60%, or more) and the shipping, imagine that! =\

  • You can get a good Fender Vibro-Champ 5 watt that will play pretty damned well for a couple of hundred.

  • Squiers are pretty good guitars, especially the CV

  • it's a divided by 13 amp

  • What is Marty's amp called. They say the name between 3.40-3.50 but I can't figure it out.

  • he has a video on his amp

  • Feliz navidad...

    thanx

  • Tube amp should be the best but not everyone can afford one!

  • idk why but i understand nearly all what u guys talkin about and Im from POland and my english level is not very good. Ur speakin is so easy he.

  • i could hear the song at the end being used as title music to a sitcom or something

  • cool hats

  • Thank you!

  • Cause they're friends in personal life, not only "fellow musicians" who met in some club.

  • @lakaiguy17

They're both music teachers, so they are fellow musicians and collegues.

  • great video
