Another option is standing as close to the wire as possible while holding a rope. Then, summon an elephant and let him drop in the lava. It takes a bit of time for him to die so use it to run through the wire. The starite should fall on the bit of the elephant hanging out from the lava. Catch it and the rest should be obvious.

Timing is important for this one, though.

first a got a lot of balloons, put them on the block, climb up the rope , fell, got wings and got back on the block on fire,then i burned the block and got it

Before I saw this post I actually won the starite in this level. Here is how I did it.

I was messing about with ropes on the ice cube, and then trying to attach (pick up) the other end to Maxwell. Didn't work so I hooked the rope end (2 ropes together) onto the wire. Then, I put 2 Griffins (bird things) under the ice cube. Then it would bounce off. Then I picked up the rope, walked just past the wire, real quick ran to the other end.

@SuperStarsNStripes I ran to the other end of the tunnel as SOON as I tripped the wire (ran JUST past it.) Once the cube was in the tunnel I dropped the rope from Maxwell. Then I put a torch alongside the cube. The ice melted. The star came out, and Maxwell ran to the star.

I tried everything before that, diving into the fire after the ice cube, flying over to it, etc. I almost had it another time but the ice pick smashed the starite too. Lol

@SuperStarsNStripes PS, one last tip. It is much easier to link 2 ropes together in the tunnel, THEN pick up one end and put it on the ice cube and the other end on the wire...Than to try to link the ropes after one is on the cube. Also, it's easier to hook the other end to the wire so you can take your time preparing. Then, pick the rope from the wire and it will go on Maxwell easier. Then do the rest, and that's it.

Place 4 balloons on the ice cube. Then you can freely walk through the trapwire. Then make a rope and attach it to the rope with the ice cube. Then just reel it in. If its get stuck just remove one of the balloons. Then place 2 lava on the ice cube and it wil melt.

OMG WTH? i did the fishing rod thing and i got it but the rope caught on fire and when i was about to break the ice, the fire melted the ice and destroyed the starite :(

you could also get it by staying behind the trip wire and getting a fishing rod to hook it. worked for me loads of times. :)

i read a strategy guide and was blown away by how they solved it... spawn an ISLAND, and place the island so its just hanging off the edge of the level, enough to catch the starite's fall when you run past the wire, then just use fire to melt the ice and pick up the starite

@superevan07 No, tried that. The island falls into the fire (soon as you try to drop the island in.)

People who are saying fishing pole: That did not work for me. Once the ice cube let loose it fell into the fire.

i just used a fishing rod/rope/fishing pole and then used a hammer/shovel/axe to get to the starite
