By the way, I went to the Little Rock Zoo about five years ago and it was the terrible. They had very tiny and outdated enclosures for the animals. I remember two grizzly bears on about a twenty foot slab or concrete with a few boulders surrounded by a moat. Also the lions look anorexic. It was very depressing. I have been to about 6 or 7 different zoos in other states and this one was by far the worst. I hope they have renovated since then.

Burmese Pythons have injuried or killed more people than all the other constricting snakes combined,as for size if you are afraid of the size of an adult retic an adult burm is not going to be much smaller. As for Dwarf Retics, they are harder to keep than full size retics. I have a 11+foot male dwarf and he is much harder to handle than and large female retic I have worked with.

it really is strange to see so much confusion under these posts, The longest snake to be recorded in captivity is the Reticulated python, yes burms are the heaviest and close in length coming in at number 2, anacondas are the 3rd largest snakes... so yes hamid is correct... i breed all three and am very knowledgeable of these large constrictors, its a wonder why you all say things when your not sure, but now you know...

Anaconda's come near it in length. Within a couple of feet, if not inches. They're both around 30 at the longest.

my man the longest python caught was 33ft....longest anaconda was 34 in Colombia.....reticulated are longer snakes as an average but rarely an anaconda can be longer....plus anacondas can weigh over 550lbs...they are much stronger than retics...a python might be able to beat it on dry land...but in water anacondas will destroy it since they spent most their life in it....both snakes are beasts and one can beat the other on any given day....pythons are longer on average anacondas are larger...

On Record book, largest snake was a retic of 33 ft. There is no proof that any anaconda was measured 34 ft. In that sense, a retic was measured 49 ft but later found out to be 23 ft. So people exaggerate a lot, but on record books, a retic is the longest snake ever measured reliably!

I highly doubt that. The snake would need to be over 30 foot in order to swallow an adult man. They have a hard time swallowing our broud shoulders, thats why they have a hard time eating us.

Pythons are longer and Anaconda's are bulkier. On youtube there is a 45 foot python in Indonesia and before that the record was a 33 foot Reticulated Python.

saying that one species of snake is aggressive is bullshit. Every snake has different kind of character. Yes some snakes act a bit differently when human comes to cath them but not allways one reticulated python acts the same ways as others. Some of them might just try to flee and do a little show to scare you so you would leave it alone. Someones will try to immediatly to strike you with lethal force. Like king cobras. Usually they try to flee when you try to catch it. Not allways...

Burmese Pythons have injuried or killed more people than all the other constricting snakes combined,as for size if you are afraid of the size of an adult retic an adult burm is not going to be much smaller. As for Dwarf Retics, they are harder to keep than full size retics. I have a 11+foot male dwarf and he is much harder to handle than and large female retic I have worked with.

not the largest snake in captivity and not in the wild either, the longest reticulated python was 33 feet long and the heaviest snake was 500 pound green anaconda, Bob Clark a famous snake breeder was a owner of a 23 feet long reticulated python named fluffy, which he recnetly sold for 35,000 dollars, Fluffy is argueably the largest snake in captivity today

Bob Clark sold Fluffy 3 which was one of the Legendary Tiger Retics from the original Clutch. All of the Tiger Retics from that first clutch grew over 20 feet long, Bob Clark still has the original Fluffy that is a normal retic. I am one of those people that believe that the 32 foot Rock Python that was never weighed was probably heavier than the 500 pound Anaconda but since that Rock Python was never weighed we will never know.

Cool vid, some facts were wrong though.
Longest retic in captivity was over 28 feet long. The longest ever recorded was 32 feet 10 inches.
