Music Directors and Station Managers rarely communicate that to the DJs. He probably didn't know what that "list" was. Their music is "meh", their songs are "meh", their personalities are "meh". So I don't get the pretentiousness. I used to like Billy Bob, but not after this interview.

I think it's a sign Jian's mention of Billy Bob's acting career made the whole band look at the ground was not a good idea. It's fairly obvious the band made a request to not even mention that.

@moishe5740 You know, I'm wondering that too. This can be taken two ways. Either he's just a weird, non social, ex drunk, who doesn't know where he or whats going on around him, or he's putting on a hell of an act for the show.
The point being, is that the "soup" of previous occurrences that make up a person at any given time is a difficult thing to unravel, dissect and analyze for the good of all.
I posted on this a year or so ago. Learned two things since: This interview single handedly made Jian a star to the degree he is now. No question. Secondly, BBT reveals in an interview on Inside the Actor's Studio (where he is exactly the opposite type of person) that all his musical endeavors are permanently dedicated to his deceased brother. You can tell what a hold this has on him in *that* interview. He saw *this* as an effrontery to his music's dedication to his brother. Very unfortunate.

Jian Ghomeshi is such a douchebag, he was not supposed to mention acting and he could not even handle that in smart way. To add to that, he clearly lost control and did not know how to handle the situation, stuttered and looked like an amateur. I am totally supporting Thornton on this one, it is a miracle Ghomeshi is even allowed near a microphone. And yes Ghomeshi was instructed not to mention acting, instructed being the key word. He showed no respect towards his guest and embarrassed himself.
@mistahduke Are you shitting me? One, Jian mentioned something about the silver screen like one time in the instruction. Everything within the interview itself concerned the band. Two, Jian doesn't have to follow step-by-step instructions (which he didn't even deviate from) laid out by his guests - this is a real interview. Three, even assuming there had been some egregious breach of etiquette by the host, Thornton shouldn't act like a fucking child.

I posted on this a year or so ago. Learned two things since: This interview single handedly made Jian a star to the degree he is now. No question. Secondly, BBT reveals in an interview on Inside the Actor's Studio (where he is exactly the opposite type of person) that all his musical endeavors are permanently dedicated to his deceased brother. Two, Jian doesn't have to follow step-by-step instructions (which he didn't even deviate from) laid out by his guests - this is a real interview.
