OK, these folsks are really really lame, but I do salute them for doing such a treasure. Seriously, this play is a treasure. Even when done by such garbage actors it's a treasure. We should still cherish this play.
Sir Joseph here chooses to be mischievous rather than pompous which is the usual presentation. G&S characters should never be played for laughs. There is some deviation from the manuscript at the end - it's rightly "And YOU all may be rulers of the Queen's Navee! ". The "YOU" is significant because it invokes the audience and helped establish this song as bordering on subversive in its Victorian day.
It's great to see G & S is still performed, even by amateur American groups. G & S were the original "British Invasion". A Canadian.
