But the average roads in all country - holes..Althought we have freeways The Ukraine nearly dont have.But in compare with most country in east Europe and in Scandinavia (without Russia and Ukraine) we have a large cities: Warsaw-1,8 mln.,Łódź- 1 mln,Cracow-850, Breslau- 750.Posen- 550, Gdansk-440 and many town 300-400 thousands.I live in 40 thousands town and for polish people this is village (but my town has 12 kilometers lenght).For compare Warsaw has 32 kilometers.
In Warsaw we - polish inhabitans - have one of the best skyscrapers in Europe (heightest, amount).Only the gigantic cities of Europe have better: London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid and Moscow.And on the seven place is Warsaw.Thats true. 5 buildings above 150 m. and 2 above 200 m.And 11 above 100 m.German destroyed city in World War II but we rebuilded 3/4 of capital. Athens,Oslo,Stockholm, didnt destroy by German and they have 1 bulidings above 100 m or something like that.
I grew up in N.Y.C. and travel there often, and I can tell you that the streets in Manhattan are pure rubbish !! but, the rest of the state has perfect roadways.
My friend, you must know from your Experience in Europe that their cities totally put ours to shame. NYC is filthy, overpriced, overcrowded and overrun by a burgeoning underclass that has no social conscious. The affluent in NYC aren't much better..selfish bastards!
But this is the blessing of Europe...they're infinitely older that the US and have alot to lend our society. Just now, we're beginning to comply with universally accepted "greenhouse" laws, whereas Europe on the whole has been practicing this for a while now. Anyway...Warsaw and Poland is awesome! I've only been as far as Germany...I have to check out E.Europe as well!
If you want a real hairy trip in Poland all you need do is travel down what the call the highways ! good god !! it's like being on an amusement ride !

I have not been to NY so I cannot compare. But the streets are not full of holes, the condition is as you would expect in a European capital!
