  • wish brian had sung the whole song.. love u bri

  • GREAT MAY

  • Brian should have been the only lead on this song. He still has the range at 60+ years to carry it off and Rodgers' pedestrian vocals did not do this beautiful song justice. I still think it was a mistake to reform Queen with Rodgers.

  • EXCELENTE VERSION, (SMILE MARTIN / MARTIN SONRISA - facebook)

  • @kristj23 You have your opinion, I have mine and we are different. That's life. A real grown up person always respect other people's opinion. Next time do not use the not so nice words like "idiotic" or similar to that. You only can share your argument but you can not push others to agree with you. Peace

    .

  • Don't be too emotional kristj23. My respect to the late Freddie is still there but as a Queen lover who already listened to almost all Queen's songs both studio and live versions since 1974 I think my opinion is still valid. Even The Extreme sang Queen's songs better than Queen with Freddie Mercury. Freddie did has a charisma and he's a very good composer of a lot of very good songs. But still on stage he had his limitation

  • @batsim08 okey.. listen gig in montreal.. save me is the best vocal performance i have ever heard.. also somebody to love and bo-rap... there are no limitations and nobody and I mean NOBODY sings like him. Nobody has that kind of voice. And that just made me laugh like hell: "Even The Extreme sang Queen's songs better than Queen with Freddie Mercury". Joke of the century. Nice tribute, no doubt but comon.

  • Thank you!

  • The "don't turn your heart" at 4:05 was late? (4:00 to 4:07)

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HI I AM FROM BRAZIL I AM VERY FAN OF THE QUEEN AND I HAVE 17 YEARS TO 10 YEARS My little brother LOVES The TBM QUEEN PAUL RODGERS IS A GREAT SINGER BUT BRIAN ROGER It SINGING IS MUCH BETTER IN ROGER TAYLOR GIVES 1000000 PAUL RODGERS.

THE QUEEN NOT NEEDED FOR THEMSELVES COULD SING RODGERS SONGS BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE ABILITY TO THIS AND JOHN DEACON COULD GIVE BACK A FORCE PRA QUEEN WITHOUT BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE SAME THING!

  • Awesome performance, I love watching Brian performing the songs he composed

  • 今こそ 手をとりあって

    頑張りましょう!!

  • Brian May is actually a better singer than Freddie, cause Freddie was only good in the studio version. On stage, his voice always could not reach high notes

  • @batsim08 are you serious??? freddie couldnt reach high notes live? only gig you have seen is Japan 1979? thats the most idiotic thing I have heard :D

  • hammer geil der song !

  • brian may 100% class 100% master and 100% queen

  • Queen is still alive...when they put their minds to it! A goosebump moment when Roger joins him...please be gone PR (at least on teo torriate), lol.

  • Dude, Brian can sing better than he did 30 years ago!

  • Brian May is great!!

  • For those who think Brian can't sing, go look for a song he sang called TEASIN AROUND...and that should shut you the fuck up forever...

  • SUPER SONG- I LOVE IT

  • Dammit.. I was so happy. And like always, Paul Rodgers ruins every Queen song. Fuck! I was so impressed and satisfied. Brian May is so great, why do they even need him? Seriously? There are so many songs that Brian May could perform.

  • brain may is an amazing musician not many can match him in fact NO-ONE CAN HE IS A GOD

  • I fell here after listening to a lot of Queen versions... I was loving hearing to Brian May, althought the heavy of the years... and then i understood why the title came with that+ ... for one side brings life/action to the music, but it really ruins that beautifull mellody... it was a heartache to ear that... come here no more... sorry: the King is dead, LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

  • Bravo!

  • god brian may

  • I am sure that queen fans are split, because the first album up to the game were great works, I mean the other album I also love them but these songs are better done meticulosly made. Specially A night at the opera, A day at the races These are my favorite rock albums along with News of the world. I'm a Queen 1973 to 1980 Fan,

  • grazie ho la pelle d'oca

  • In my opinion, Brain was the only other member of Queen who equalled Freddie as far as talent goes. Roger and John...whatever, but Freddie and Brian THEY were Queen; they were the real talent.

  • One of the most underrated Queen songs of all time. One of their most emotive pop anthems, like We are the champions or these are the days...really great. I think "A day..." was a great album, but their worst 70´ album (because the rest of the records are simply amazing). Anyway this song it´s the best from "A Day.."

  • That's something I'm not used to see, Brian singing WITHOUT his Guitar for a few minutes

  • @ZoahLord Check out Another World, it's wonderful.

  • @sebluthiers

Already been a fan for 10 years. Just never seen him LIVE singing without his Guitar

  • @ZoahLord That's what I mean. When he performed the song 'Another World' on his second solo tour, he didn't play guitar, piano or anything, he just sang, holding the mic with his hand and moving around the stage.

  • @sebluthiers

AH!! Gotcha, gonna have to check that out

  • And Brian discussed the "never performing as Queen again"...Look...they are living breathing people, who make music, and as flawless as Q's records were...they ALL said they were difficult & painful to make. And the fun was in touring...so why wouldnt Brian & Roger want to do....what they'd been doing their whole lives...They honored Freddie performing his songs and keeping them alive. But Paul didnt "overprepare" for this one, no doubt. Most of the show, Paul was damn good. And yes, I was there

  • On the other hand, as much as I love Freddie's voice...simply one of the best ever, especially in the studio...and let's not underestimate his vast knowledge of music theory..not sure anyone ever put chords together better than FM...But I totally enjoyed hearing and seeing Paul Rodgers interpret the tunes. No he didnt channel Mercury, he breathed his own life into them, and I was GLAD to see them live. Plus May's gtr sounds amazing in person too....

  • my second fave Queen song! love A day at the races album!

  • The memories I have of this band, the best band in the world, this is MAGIC

  • I'm so happy I do own this on DVD... Far the best interpretation of this song (until Paul starts to destroy it, sorry, but you do, Paul!)

  • Also, i did see 'Queen + Paul Rodgers' live, and found Paul's voice - which i've always loved, with Bad Company etc - not suited to these songs. And yes, i greatly preferred the first half of this performance, with Brian singing. Personally i would have loved to see the 3 surviving members of Queen touring together - as 'Queen' - just the 3 of them with Brian and Roger sharing the vocals. Sorry if my opinion is distasteful to anyone.

  • So i guess i'm ignorant if i agree that they should not have toured as 'Queen + Paul Rodgers' ? That i would have preferred it be called 'Taylor, May, and Rodgers' or something like that? Because Brian said shortly after Freddie passed, that there may be some reunion appearances etc, "but you won't see us performing as 'Queen' again." With HALF of Queen not present, it being only TWO members plus whoever else, calling it 'Queen' seems inappropriate to me.

  • I Must admit, I was enjoying this track MUCH more more before PR came on !! Well done Brian. Sung perfectly and treated with respect

  • 4:04, the idiot missed his que. I'm sorry, as a singer and performer he is horrible, and you people who dare think that he is a good replacement for freddy. I have a msg for whoever thinks so:

You are idiots, you are dumb, you are superficial and have no idea what you are saying. Do not reproduce. The world would be a better place without your kind. Thank you

  • @TombstonedM

how can anyone who sells over 300 million records , complete a phd 30 years later with a re-visit , write a book on 1850's stereo photography , and be a creator of a worldwide smash hit musical be an idiot .

    cop on you spa .

  • @khashoggi191 simply by actually believing that he could replace freddy mercury in queen and sing his songs when it is obvious, as this video has shown, that he cannot. :)

  • @TombstonedM

If you knew anything about queen and paul rogers and listened to any of the countless interviews done since 2004 when this " affair " as Brian called it began , Paul always referred to Freddie as irreplaceable .( no need to explain what that means ...) He also said that it's a NEW group and the songs would be portrayed as a NEW group.

  • @khashoggi191 new group hat is still called queen. And seriously, just because he says FreddIE...(happy?) is irreplacable doesn't mean that he isn't trying to. Im sorry, the fact of the matter is this. In this clip, they sang a Queen song, when freddie was still with them, so they sang a song from the OLD Queen, as you are putting it, and, in layman's terms, he ruined it, from top to bottom. In this song, he tried to replace Freddie, and miserably failed. That is all

  • Comment removed

  • @TombstonedM

You're hell bent on using this word " replace " . He has a different voice and background altogether .If he was trying to replace him he'd grow a tash and wear a leotard .And the new group is called Queen+Paul Rogers.

They put 40 years of their lives into Queen . Why would they dream up a new name ...?It's simply musicians making music and making fans happy . I for one am beaming my fuckin ass off .

  • @khashoggi191 then why let him sing a queen song? im just saying, May was doing a brilliant job singing Freddie's part. You fail to get the point of what I'm saying here. Here, rogers sings a son Freddie used to sing and he ruined it, plain and simple.

  • @TombstonedM

no , what you said was " You are idiots, you are dumb, you are superficial and have no idea what you are saying. Do not reproduce. The world would be a better place without your kind " .Bit harsh .???...music is universal . It brings people together . 82000 people in a field singing the same line or chorus would dissagree with you.Have you been to any Q+Pr gigs ...?

I doubt it . Chill out a bit . Don't be so angry ... you know .?go and hug a stranger or something .

  • @TombstonedM They wanted someone to sing in a totally different style. To try to find someone to replace Freddie would have been an insult. Rogers is also a legendary singer. He does blues stuff usually though, which is why he toured with Queen, because he wasn't a replacement, he brought something new.

  • 19 LUGLIO 2010 AUGURI BRIAN MAY SEI IL MIGLIORE !!

  • Beautiful!!!

  • Paul Rogers presented it perfectly! He did't try to be Freddie. He's just good with his own spirit and respect for the great artist our beloved is!

    Cheers and enjoy!

    V for Verônica

  • The song sounded so good when Brian was singing and Roger on backing vocals and than Paul comes in and ruins the whole feeling of the song for me.

  • Beautiful.

  • OWO!!!

  • i really need to meet Brian May and Roger Taylor !!

  • Paul Rodgers sucks

  • its the first time i saw brian singing w/o his guitar!

  • @handel1111 Is rare to see that.

  • Great Biran & Rog!!!

  • I remember when I went ot see Brian May in 1992 he did this song instead of Driven By You.

  • Just love how Taylor sings the shit out of the song around 4:30

  • it's so weird seeing Brian without a guitar :P

  • its totally different make some chorus and sing a complete song

  • brian you are great!! paul you mustn t sing queen songs!!

  • Grazie Brian mi hai fatto rivivere una grande emozione.!

  • where was it??

its a really great version!!! brian you are the best!!!! <3

  • @joopis16 Japan.

  • Thank you very much!!

    many greetings!! ;-)

  • You are welcome!

  • wow singer congratulations i like

  • I love Brian May!!!! and God what a voice!

He's the only singer other than Freddie who can sing Queen songs and make them sound almost as good as Freddie!

  • Don't forget Roger Taylor!

Saw them live in 2008 and his rendition of A Kind Of Magic was phenomenal!

  • WOW! I didn't know Roger Taylor also sang, Geez, I've been discovering the music of Queen the last few months and realizing that they definitely revolutionized rock music with their unique sound and videos, not to mention their multi-talented band members! I still think that Brian has a better voice than Roger.

  • @dbenmil Roger is actually coming out with a new solo album in 2010. The leading single is "The Unblinking Eye- Everything's Broken"

  • dbenmil, Roger hits the highest notes I have ever heard a man sing in the song "The Lap of the Gods". Of course Freddie hits some high ones also but Roger is absolutely amazing.

Please see "Queen In the lap of the Gods (Rainbow 1974)". The video is 3:26 minutes long. Watch out at the 2:00 minute mark. Just amazing.

I just love the early Queen. All four members are geniuses.

  • isnt his voice just naturally higher then freddies? Also if thats the highest note youve ever heard a man sing, maybe listen to 3 inches of blood deadly sinners. Or some Darkness.

  • astreocclu, I believe Roger's voice is higher than Freddie's even though Roger admitted that Freddie was able to hit all registers, something Roger could not do.

I'm sure there are guys out there who can go higher than Roger. Very few but they are out there.

Love Freddie, Roger, John and Brian.

  • .....Freddie era troppo grande per una sola vita...come lui nessun altro..Paul nenache da considerare

  • one of the best renditions of the song. 2:13 looks like a scene from an old queen concert, lol.

  • que raro que es ver a brian sin su rs, telecaster o una custica jaja

  • Wow! Wow! Woooow!!

    That was beautiful!

  • I think Brian should have sung this on the album, atleast the soft part, not the heavy part. And also preform it live, I think it's a shame he didn't sing his own material when Freddie Mercury was alive, such as 39'

  • Brian May wrote this song. I think it is just as beautiful when Brian sings it as when Freddie did.

  • Rodgers deve come sempre rovinare tutto!!

  • @ThePaazzoo Ahahahaah!!!

  • @skarbanan

You are probably completely silly without ear, Brian was absolutely brillant ! less powerfull then Freddy but it's so sweet ! You really know nothing

  • Marin, Freddie did do that song live I just watched it about 2 min ago

  • exacxtly in japan in 1982 and 1979 i think

  • paul does not fit well into the picture

  • Thanks master!!!!

  • i love 12 strings guitars, they've got a special sound

  • Wow! Brian is really good with that!!! I especially love the moment in the end of the first verse when he sings: "Be not GONE", he sings it just like the original (and Freddie never did that live)

  • @MarinStoikov

Oh yes, Freddie did Teo Torriate live twice, I think. To me, the best version is the first one, so just write: Teo Torriate 79 and search it right here. Very nice one!

  • @MercurysGirl Queen played it live more than twice!! They played it at pretty much every gig they did in Japan.

  • @MarinStoikov that's because he sings with his forehead unlike freddie, it's more easy to go high with this kind of singing, but less powerfull

  • @MarinStoikov Because Freddie sang whole concerts.. When they were on tour, it can be hard to find the light head-voice... It's risky :-) Also Freddie liked to improvise

  • freddie couldnt sing it like the original, cause brian wrote and recorded this one

  • @MarinStoikov Freddie sang this song live in japan

  • la primera vez que me gusta la voz de Rodgers en una cancion de Queen

  • very very goooooooood!!!!

  • Fucking brilliant, Brian .... though I kinda wish he or Roger had taken the loud bit too ...

  • A great old song, done well. Bravo!

  • gr8 song

    fav zis

    5 *****

    emz

  • I didn't know this version yet! Thank you for posting. One of the overlooked gems in the Queen catalogue!

  • Roger and Brian's voices in the first chorus just go so well together... like they always have.

  • ♥ Perfect ♥

  • LOVE this song...its one of my favourite...but I didnt like the part that paul sang...i wish brian had sing it!!!!

this with freddie would have been perfection its a shame that technology wasnt at advance..imagine a queen concert record with a good camera!!!

  • sung it!

  • Try Rock Montreal on BluRay... It's phenomenal!

  • i dont have blue ray :( but queen is so good that it doesnt matter if you see them (listen them) in a cave they will still sound GREAT

  • Yeah, you can actually see most of the concert on youtube... in sections...

    User ID: XVirusHD

All the videos he posted from queen are of that concert and all are in HD.

  • watch?v=gF-x2ycs-vE

  • I wish Brian would have sung this, 39' and other ballads he wrote live when Mercury was alive.

  • They did that. In the late 70s. But the videos are rare. Search and you will find some.

  • This is my favourite Queen-Song.

I prefer the Freddie-version but Brian did a great job.

But I think, Rodger really got older...

  • I´ve been heard this song for the last 25 years and I´m not tired to do it. This means= clasics

  • Believe it or not but I like this better than the original version, It is more gently and fragile. Brian wrote it and it should have been his to sing all along.

  • This is beautiful.

  • Oh gosh, they did this?! When? Where?

  • Brian voices it's the best, goes more more better with Paul Rodgers. Freddie in heaven sining from Brian!!! AMEN.

  • great work of brian

of course its his song, but his voice ia still amazing.

    He ´s the greatest

    God bless brian and Queen

  • Did Queen ever tryout with Mika.

I bet Mika would love it.

  • Wow, Bri sounded amazing! It was even better when Rog sang with him :D Wish Paul would shush, but oh well :) I thought Bri was singing it better, but Paul did fine.

  • brian may...you are awesome..

  • Great up until when Paul Rodgers started singing. He's great for the bluesy, harder rocking songs, but when it comes to the more dramatic songs like this...ehh no. Brian would have done better singing the whole thing

  • QUEEN

    Paul Rodgers (Vocals)

    Brian May (Guitars)

    Roger Taylor (Drums)

    Danny Miranda (Bass)

  • You forget the brilliant Spike Edney on keyboards & the fantastic Jamie Moses on 2nd Guitar!

  • yes fantastic !!!

  • Oh Bri'! He looks insecure, when he sings. Why? He sings very well... His voice is so nice, full of emotions... No need to talk about guitar. Genius he was, genius he will stay. I'm glad he sings a part of this song which he is the autor....

  • Seems like sadness more. The song's lyrics are moving particularly if you relate them to the band itself.

  • He's always put himself down in terms of singing - doesn't think of himself as a good vocalist. i disagree, I think he's a pretty good one! Not anything like Freddie, or like Paul Rodgers, but he does have a nice voice.

  • I actually think that Brians voice goes better with queen songs than Pauls :P. I like Paul. Was never a big fan of his, but I like the idea that he's touring with queen. But I gues I can except Brians voice to queen songs better :P

  • i agree. ive loved queen always. I really dont mind rodgers but he overphrases and is more obviously sentimental. Freddie wonderfully pompous as he could be always stayed on track and let the melody work. he never went for "extra" feeling - which let the true feeling stand out. Although may is not as trained a singer his nature is just so much more core queen. His heart and musicality overcomes the physical restrictions artistically. gets a bit too syrupy with mr rodgers after a while.

  • give it up now paul.

  • wow! look at how many people went to the concerts! i really think that so many people wanted to here these songs live again, so thanx queen and thanx paul! I think Freddie and Koss

    enjoy from above ;)

  • WOW!!! I love this song!!!

  • I just think its amazing how Brian can take those high notes so flawless and easy, I mean he's what? 60+? Amazing

  • yeah hes 62 now. hes probly 60 here. He really doesnt sound any different than he did back in 75-76. amazing

  • I have nothing against Paul Rodgers but Brian did such a fantastic job singing this he should have been allowed to sing the whole thing...just my opinion

  • To me Brian sings it more expressively than freddie... even when he has`nt a terrific voice.. at least it `s more touching.. if not hear freddie singing it live...

  • according to me because listening to this song it rethinks to freddie and you emotions to prescind from who sing it.

  • You must realise that's a very stupid thing to say Krolowa 1990. You allmost made me mad.

  • I got a high five from Paul Rodgers when Queen + Paul Rogers when to Anahim

  • it is too bad that they broke up!

  • Brian does a fantastic job on this song. It's great to hear him do his take, on a song he wrote.

  • I caught Queen + PR in 2007. Paul has an amazing voice. He covered some of Freddie's song that were never done live with Freddie, and pulled them off without a hitch.Queen chose the right guy to take over as frontman, period.

  • Pure jenious!

  • 手をとりあって

    Brilliant

  • Have always and will alway love Brian as a singer and songwriter. But why does he have Paul Rogers come out when the song is about over.

  • 最高です!

    Great! by Japanese

  • I love it, brian is so expressive singin and playin.. he does`nt have freddieps voice, but still thrills me.

  • He's also a doctor of Astrophysics.

  • I knew it, I really admire what he does.. I don`t like more a guitarrist than him... he doesn`t have a outstanding technich, but it`s imposibble to out do what he does in his style..

Paul Rodgers does a good job in here too..

People doesn`t accept the fact that things change and time gets away from freddie... even when he was the best, show mus go on.. and If they feel they like Rodgers would be like accepting freddie is dead... and they would go on... very foolish about this people.

  • In 4:41 Rodgers is SUPERB!!!!

  • totally agree with we. paul rodgers does a good job, its impossible to replace freddie, we all know that but paul is a good artist and deserves our support

  • Long live the entire Queen band.

  • No farrohk Bulsara=no QUEEN

  • Comment removed

  • No disrespect here, BUT Queen outsold Pauls Record sales, if you look at the statistics!

  • If you took a survey, I would bet at least twice as many people would know who Queen is compared to Paul Rodgers.

  • lol.. i laughed when i saw that comment... ur trying to tell us that paul is more respected and famous that queen?

    funny

  • i so love this song

  • where was this at

  • Japan
