Sega would, if they could, release it as "Sega Racing Classic 2" (a la "Sega Racing Classic" from 2009) -- this is because they don't have the rights to the Daytona name anymore.

Great idea axi, but I don't know if they have the rights. The "Daytona USA" name is now used for a replacement of the Daytona 500 Experience museum. Can SEGA re-release Daytona games knowing this ? Not sure...

They know this, and they did apply a license for both games to the International Speedway Corporation. And FYI, Daytona USA was the original name for the museum. Since then, the name has been replaced with the Daytona 500 Experience. So you're getting the info mixed up. And yes, SEGA can and they will, but I have no current updates about DU3, a possible cancellation is at risk.

Drifting and drafting are two different things.

Drifting is sliding around a corner with minimal braking and loss of speed.

Drafting is driving close behind another car, effectively reducing wind resistance for a higher top speed.
