This Film Is FANTASTIC! Cant believe Natasha isn't with us anymore, breaks my heart to see this kind of talent, taken away from us :( R.I.P Natasha NEVER Forgotten <3.
I just finished the novel and it is fantastic! This is one of my favorite films and I have seen it countless times. About 99% of the time, it is my opinion that a film adaptation is rarely equal to the novel...but in this case, the film is just as effective- Beautifully tragic, passionate and dramatic. The acting from Natasha and Martin is so amazing that when I was reading the book, I kept envisioning them as Stella and Edgar.
@GayGeisha I agree..McGrath is brilliant. I look forward to reading his other works. I suppose I love this film so much...it is literally dripping with intense, gut-wrenching sexual obsession. I feel that the two leads really did a fantastic job of bringing that aspect of the story. I did enjoy how the novel goes so much deeper with a great deal more detail...like how Stella moved with her husband to a different, sort of run-down area and she had a passionless affair with a man there, etc..
Very good video!! And yes, Natasha did an excellent job in this but at the same time... when did she ever make a bad or 'okay' performance?? True talent. She's gone way too soon. :'(
This was the first film that I saw with Natasha as the star. This is one of my favorite films and I absolutely adore Natasha's performance! So passionate yet tragic.
It's so sad to see her gone, and it's also so wierd to see her in this and I don't know why. Maybe b/c the first movie I ever saw her in was Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan. Haha. Quite a differene...

The music does not fit with the movie or the time period. But with mute option I was able to enjoy the nicely edited movie scenes.

You want a mentally unstable man who decapitated his wife for being unfaithful? Hrrmm. Well I'd settle for Marton Csokas instead ;)

@iamcasihart I liked the film, but I didn't think it had the same impact as the novel. McGrath is a genius.

@VermeersGirl It is a very good book, well written. The kind that is hard to put down. Natasha said the same thing about it.

@sacera101 Extraordinary contrast. You are so right. She could do anything. Watch
scenes from Gothic on YT.
