I've sat through MANY scorchers in the middle of the day. Most were well over 100 degrees, no clouds and were blowout wins. I can't see myself leaving an OT game even if it's hot.
most people left after seeing others faint and get heat stroke in the 2nd quarter when we had a nice 19-0 lead (which we ended up blowing which totally pissed me off) and yes they shouldn't have left, i stayed the entire time, but that game really was miserable. the heat plus the humidity was horrible! plus the whole fact that standing the entire game while yelling, it can definitely get to you
Temperature on the field was measured at 147...for those of you that were not there, you really have no room to talk. I suffered for only a half since i was in the Alumni Section, but with temperatures like that and very little cloud cover...it is just dumb to get onto folks for not staying (especially when so many were fainting).
There's a big difference between leaving early because you are losing and leaving early because you are throwing up and about to pass out. And overrated? Look at how many people were still there after throwing up and standing the entire game. I was one of the ones that stayed the whole game and it was still louder than DKR texas memorial "longest name in the world" stadium.
so it wasnt sold out?

@wsr72 It probably was. Don't just assume that a game wasn't a sell out just because all the seats aren't full.

This was the 3rd OT, and it was 100 degree heat. I remember hundreds of people passed out, it was in the school paper the next day.

Not as embarrassing as having half your fan base leave when there's still 3 min left in the 4th and you're plying an unranked team.

It was full at the beginning of the game, jackass. It was hot as hell and a friend of mine PASSED OUT. No choice but to leave.
