  • The very essence of grace itself. There are good players, but then there are players who make the game a pleasure to watch. They play beautifully. This is what I emulate.

  • I watch this before every match I play, his swag, his composure, so simple but all so perfect. This is soo well done

  • this movie is nothing unless you see it in a gallery with BOTH screens playing at the same time.

  • @tehStomer the most stupid comment i ever heard in my life ! you clearly know nothing at all about football you sunshine supporting twit

  • Comment removed

  • Messi or C.Ronaldo

    i choose Zidane and Ronaldo..

  • This man is just fascinating.

  • @tehStomer There is no better than Zinedine Zidane!!!!!!!

  • Legendary !

  • Worst vidéo ever !!!

  • @fee9al1 clearly not as good as Kim Possible eh fee9al1? ;)

  • Grande Zizou !!

  • what a beautiful sight! a true legend!

  • @elitedonk its art son

  • Great song, great film.

  • Mogwai.

  • The greatest footballer of all time, more of a joy to watch than anyone, past or present.

  • Back again...hehe

  • A beautiful clip. I love how I almost feel like I'm on the pitch next to him. I love how he looks at the lights.

An amazing football player, undoubtedly one of the best ever.

  • he just is a real LEGEND

  • there's something about the effortless way he moves, it seems like he's just gliding around the pitch! I watched this film the whole way through and it was one of the best pieces of art I've ever seen. Legend

  • This film literally gave me goosebaumps. So simple yet so effective!

  • Zidane is a true legend.

But I know that there are 2 true legends.

2 Friends when opponents, 2 champions when teammates, 2 legends in history: Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo.

  • Zidane is the best I've ever seen play.

  • "Sometimes magic is very close to nothing at all"

  • number won

  • Superb!

  • Happy Birthday Zizou

  • Best " sport " movie ever. And true story behind Zidane is just... Too much. Epic player!

  • Makes me wish Zidane still played, going to miss him being on the field.

  • whats the song

  • @muzza798 soundtrack is by mogwai so no particular song.

  • watched this last night for first time ever. It was on bbc2 at 12.50am, cant believe i've never heard of it until now.

this is without a doubt, one of the best things ive ever seen. so beautifully filmed and captures one of the all time greats in his element.

    the soundtrack is epic too.

  • @steeshlad i watched it too, it was silent for 90 mins.. Shows how everyone is just made of skin and bones and shin pads playing football. I play county football and this is just aswome footage.

  • great! great player! Love your Zidane!!!!!!!!!!!! Can watch your games forever!

  • hey... how they capture the sounds of the game.. is he wearing a microphone on his clothes or something??... or is just sounds placed on the postproduction process.. because it sounds very real.

  • GRANDE ZIZOU!!!!

  • zzzzzzzzzzz

  • very very dull....

  • I'm trying to find a Region 1 disc of this film in the US. Can anyone please help me?

  • You want to teach somebody about Football? Show them this clip.

  • love football and love zidane but i havent got this dvd coz doesnt the game finish 0-0 and zizou doesnt play that well? they should've recorded him for 5 or 6 games then released his best performance

  • @shebangsthedrums89

You're wrong, he does a brilliant assist and then gets himself red carded and that is the climax of the film. You should watch it.

  • @shebangsthedrums89 the point of the film is not how well he played in this game or what the score was. in fact, the point of the film is virtually the exact opposite. it being a mediocre 0-0 game works in the film's favour, if anything

  • <3 mogwai

  • Glad people have uploaded it so I can skim through it for my course without having to watch the full thing.

Kinda interesting if you know who the guy is maybe? And interesting concept, but very boring.

  • god of control.

  • I went to see a match for him in vancouver, I still remember the date it was July 12, 2009

  • @htnsma I was gonna go to that, but I heard he was injured, so I didn't bother. Was it good? How much did he play?

  • it was ok but i at least got to see zizou, it was for $25 and $50 depending on where u wanted to set ofcourse i got the $50 cause it was zizou

  • @htnsma Cool.

  • @htnsma good memory bro

  • enjoyed this film..great tribute to a football icon. ironically he was sent off in this match, remember 2006 WC final?

  • i realize that a lot of people find the entire film difficult to sit through, but if you are one of the people who could sit down and watch it all the way through, it truly is a great experience, and just gives an overall great feeling to watch.

  • Mogwai made the film...not Zidane...

  • Why does he keep saying aiyee aiyee? ist the subjontif aille? as in go

  • no he's playing for Real Madrid, so they're talking Spanish. It's allí, means "over there".

  • i think some of the time he's saying "aqui" aswell which is "here". plus sometimes he's saying "david" as in david beckham.

  • Great clip. Shows the reality of a game, there's a lot of waiting around in football, I think it's something like the average player only has the ball at his feet for a few minutes each game. This bid really puts that into perspective and displays how people judge you on what you do in this few crucial moments when you are involved in play on or off the ball.

  • I always rate players on how they perform on the biggest stage, world cups. Few players in history can perform in a WC tournament and final. Maradona, Pele, Ronaldo are some...But Zidane is unbelievable. I mean what he did for club was awesome, but what he did for France in the WC's were mind blowing. Everyone talks about the C.Ronaldo's, the Messi's but I refuse to rate them untill they perform in 2010 South Africa and beyond...

  • true that. to show how good you are you have to do it at a world cup.

  • ur so true man, i agree

  • i think thats the wrong way to look at it. what about players like george best thats are unlikely to ever reach a world cup because of the team they play for? i agree that the world cup is the biggest stage but in reality its only slighty ahead of the champions league.

  • @sidos12lfc

Amen. I agree 100%. It is how you perform when you MUST perform at your best, that truly matters.

That is why Pele, Maradona, and Zidane will always be the best three.

  • @sidos12lfc

    zidane is truly the greatest

  • @sidos12lfc Definitely agree with you. He is a once in a lifetime phenom.

  • @sidos12lfc thats why zizou will always be the greatest XD

  • @sidos12lfc how highly do u rate Xavi?

  • @sidos12lfc haha you "refuse to rate them"? oh no! messi will be so upset when he reads this post and realizes that sidos12lfc refuses to rate him! however will he go on?!

  • @sidos12lfc

OK, but Zidane also played for France on 2002, korea/Japan WC. As far as I am concerned he is the biggest player I've watched with Xavi trailing, and to those two before mentioned (Messi, C. Ronaldo) they are still young and have still ennough time

  • @markobenzon nah brah, i don't know how old you are but there are others that were way way better than xavi...even in the past 20 years. i could at least name three names. i am not saying anything bad about xavi...but Hadji of Romania was the epitome of a #10... also Risto Stodjckov #10 of Hungary also....sorry i know i've butchered th speling...these two played with no names for their countries and made wonders

  • @sidos12lfc Agree with you. Look at how Zidane scored this penalty in the WCF infront of the world best keeper. watch?v=947sUP_dN24&feature=related

messi and ronaldo still have many years to go

  • zidane, unreachable.

  • football is a very hard game

  • Zidane doesn't need to play for a wanker club

  • Mogwai + Zidane = Excellent

  • my team

    3-4-4

    Shmeichel

    Maradona, Zidane, M.Laudrup

    Di Stefano, Platini, R.Baggio

    Ronaldo, Pelé, Van Basten, Romário

This is the real Dream Team. lol

    :))

P.S.: Zidanes secret is CONTROL: ball control, game control, possession, .; SHARP MIND CONTROL.

And a great powerful winning shot ( specially with his LEFT foot. )

  • Laudrup? ha don't be ridiculous

  • i totally agree with u Zidan has such control he makes the most difficult move so easy it's like watching beautiful poetry in motion

  • @Joaopandao if you have a team full of attackers how have you managed to leave out cruijff?

  • a team are 11...

my view is my view ...

i can´t remove one of those i mentioned...

    ( but cruiif is topclass)

  • fuck u nd united

  • awazha - all due respect but he played for two teams that have a far richer history than United, Juve (27 league titles, Uefa CL 2) and Real Madrid (31 league titles, Uefa CL 9). United 18 and Uefa CL 3.

  • Dude...he is not won't adapt to the english game...it's more of physical....not technique.

  • yeh well he woulda joined eventually anyway if that was the case :P

  • to zidane10!

  • Agreed

  • In my opinion Zidane is the greatest football player. He is truly a living legend.

  • @Mexicano212 a filthy headbutter ... thats what he is :)

  • impresionante la pelicula!!!!! zidane el mejor jugador leeeeeejos!!!!!

  • They're foley sounds, recorded after

  • Beautiful. The all time greatest.

  • WOW!!!!!!ZIZOU THE BEST!

  • for all you lads living in Boston, this movie is being shown at the Museum of Fine Arts from the 8th-18th. Admission is $10.50!

    Pleace.. someone..

  • ממפרט

  • fuck I miss him..

  • hmmm me too....but hey dont get down man! we still have him!!!! =-) you feel me.

  • i miss him too, football without him is manific, he is the best player ever in the history

  • i miss him.

  • this is a copy of a george best version-

    Football as Never Before.

    its probably on here

  • watched this last night on bbc4 found it strange but at the same time good!! have to say zidane isnt a vocal player at all, seemed in a diff world all together.

  • yeah me too, put it on at first and thought..wtf?!? then realised i didnt want to turn over haha, was actualy fascinating

  • take a look at the george best one!.

they making another with kobe bryant basketballer.

  • I love Zidane as he's one of my favorite all time football legends. It is too bad no one ever made one of these types of films for Michael Jordan. He was incredibly intense, poetry in motion, and a vicious trash talker. Oh well.

  • @qjsolis i hate trash talkers...for this reason, i don't like basketball..for it is not a team sport like footie is...you see, what makes zidane the best is that he was unselfish, and knew his role was to create chances for his attackers.. i mean for the 06 world cup, he had to literally be begged to return back, and once he was on the pitch, the french team looked completely different. he still needed the other 10 though you see.. michael jordan won't say he needed horace grant or others to win

  • @firecamedown Totally disagree with you about basketball. Jordan never won championships until he had Pippen, Grant, Rodman, and Phil Jackson and role players. It is a totally different sport because it's all about scoring points unlike football. Jordan needed Pippen and others to fill the boxscores to get to 100+ points every night. The Bulls record 72-10 season is the result of one of the greatest team achievements in sports. In Jordan's ESPY honor he credited teammates & coaches too.

  • Ich habe gehört, dass der Film Ende Juni inBochum laufen soll. Stimmt das? Weiß dajemand genaueres?

  • does someboy know where could get this movie...or somebody could send t to me...thanks for the anwsers

  • BBC iPlayer

  • They are making the same type of film for Kobe Bryant in the NBA.

  • I don't like to diss other sports, but I don't think it'll work as well. The movement is soccer is more poetic and universal

  • Would love to read the reasoning behind that statement, as it'll be chock full of shit.

  • Sorry if i offended you, because that obviously wasn't the point. It's just that in soccer it's those 22 men spread around a huge green pitch being watched religiously by countless fans of all different background; appears more poetic to me than 10 supersized men playing on a tiny court with squeaky shoes with hyper music playing in the background. The fact that the point is to work towards getting a goal, instead of being disappointed by missing a basket. It's just more poetic to me

  • Looks like I was right.

  • I play a lot of sports one of them is basketball. But never in my life have I had the same universal experiences that I find in soccer in any other sport. Going to the park and just playing with people I remember one time I went to the park and there were people from over 50 countries playing soccer games. No organization, just people from all parts of the world sharing a universal love. Wether you agree or disagree with me it's a fact that Soccer is a universal language

  • The whole video is him playing soccer...

  • @mh10rm

for fuk sake its not soccer, its football, u stealing yank

  • @mh10rm football

  • @mh10rm FOOTBALL.

  • Yes. It is a creation from Professional prat Douglas Gordon. If you are interested in his other works then you should watch the film where he slowed down Psycho to fill 24 hours. Whats ever more entertaining is seeing pretensious wannabe cineastes get themselves in all kinds of knots explaining how it is 'an exploration of the human condition' blah blah.

  • During channel-hopping last night, I had the luck to come across this movie. From the first moment it attracted me to the screen and immediately after it was over I ordered the DVD. I could watch Zidane for hours. His facility in playing and his technical skills are unique. Also, the music by Mogwai is simply wonderful and deeply emotional. It perfectly matches with the acting of Zidane. Great homage to Zidane and football itself. A must-see for every admirer of this sport ...

  • i see riquelme in the fore ground in 4:20 i wonder if zidane ever talk to him

  • it's crazy how this is the whole movie.

  • It looks pretty cool. Obviously an aquired taste. I'm not sure how well Mogwai and Zidane will go together but I'll try and check out this film sometime.

  • you should it's an amazing film

  • does enywhone have this film i dont know where to look please write me if you have it :) thanks

  • zidane is a wonderful man,a really big player..and expecially..a really really really good numer 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. players and men love him!!!!!

Zinedine Zidane truly was the best player ever.

  • i love mogwai so much!!!
