  • Joan's voice blows up the microphone in this song. She was singing loudly and she had a bunch of power. This video seriously makes me jealous of people who were lucky enough to have been young in the 70s. I unfortunately have to be a young teenager in this generation :( Maybe someday, we'll have time machines, though.

    Joan Jett for president- 2012

  • @TheRunawayJJett Yeah me too :/ I don't know why I born in this generation :c

  • @MAIDENCASTLEVANIAN I respectfully agree.

  • I WANNA BE WHERE THE BOYS ARE, YEAH!

  • @MAIDENCASTLEVANIAN The 80s were real and fresh? What was real and fresh about Boy George, Wham, Vanilli, Dead or Alive, Poison, etc. Only the first half of the 80s was good. The early 80s was a continuation and evolution of the late 70s. After 1985, it all started going downhill. Yo-MTV rap was crap. MTV sold out after 1985. The best movies of the 80s were teen comedies and a few sci-fi and fantasy movies.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s MTV went down hill once they started adding commercials / adverts and had downtown julie brown on promoting the rap and hip hop crap. I remember when Adam Curry was still VJing the songs , and only had a total of 5 mins airtime , the rest of the time was wall to wall videos. those days are long long gone. ( I grew up in US , and IN the 80s , I remember those days. )

  • @TheVampressKiss Your right. The early 80s was approximately 24 hours of back to back music videos with short commercial breaks. That's when MTV really meant Music Television.

  • i think the point of the runaways was not just to pave the way for all-girl bands, but to encourage girls to be more involved in the rock world and to be treated and judged equally against their male counterparts

  • omg omg omg i want to be at tht concert omg.... i hate how im born imthis generation..fuck 2011!

  • ... is that a marijuana cigarette ?

  • @hondotoo I want one...

  • <3

  • Hell-to-da-YEAH!

  • they're just epic <3

  • @MAIDENCASTLEVANIAN Thanks!

  • 1:27 drummin while smokin a joint XD

  • Comment removed

  • @MAIDENCASTLEVANIAN All I remember in the '80s is how I turned to the music of the '60s and '70s at age 9 in the summer of 1986 because I couldn't stand ANYTHING my classmates were listening to. The exciting early days of MTV were already over and rap was starting to change young people (for the worst if you ask me). The '50s were the uphill climb, the '60s and the '70s were the best, and everything else has just been a long slow cancer.

  • @MattHatter amen to that!

  • omg! I lovee themmmm

  • Check my band playing this song for fun on my videos I named the video as the runaways I wanna be where the boys are to find it easier

  • they are great!!!

  • Women who really ROCKED.

  • @SatansSlutt Badass motherfucker

  • im the only girl in my school of almost 2000 who wears a leather jacket, a black mohawk and so on =/

i wish i was in that time

  • @mixxsometunes AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think from my top four posts you get the message ... are the fuck are people like you .... where i am at there is no one around he relates but there seems to be loads of you flying around the youtube waves ... fuck somebody find me !!!!

  • i wish i was in this bandd & lived in this decadee !

  • i wanna be where the runaways where!!!!

  • i wish this decade was forever

  • @MrWirelessTV i love you

  • im a penis

  • 70swasamazinnnnn

  • Oh and one more thing. You people are so fucking blind. All this "shit" isnt the only music in 2011, but all you asshole are too fucking blind to see that there is still rock music out there... " Oh its nothing but computers and auto-tune..." NO its not. Dont you have a radio. Where i live we have a radio station where they play "the rock you grew up with", another that plays old rock and new rock songs, and one that plays Alt rock from the 90s up.. and that shit is good. Its not only rap...

  • Wow, people are fucking stupid. You would change the decade you lived in just for the music? Thats kinda retarded. Id rather be living now and still be able to listen to this kinda music. Its not going anywhere so shut up and enjoy. Like what you wanna like. Just cus your fucking... what like.. 14 doesnt mean you have to like the stuff thats out there now.

  • Comment removed

  • @robinxpeacce Yeah. I like the 90s myself. I dont like how everyone is like oh im ** and i love this music. But i was born in 1994 and i feel the same way with you but i like the 90s better. Jeans and flanel. The music was heavy and energetic. The music industary didnt suck too. I could by a record for 5.99. Now its almost 20 bucks and i can stil get all the song for free from a file hosting site... But hey. I may comeback. Manythings came back.

  • i wish i had a time machine.....i can dream can't i ?

  • Now this is music, not katy perry, kesha and all those others "artists"

  • @XR0ck3rChickX ..My thoughts..Excactly!! The artists you mentioned below..I won't even utter their names for they ar NOT WORTHY..In being in this catagory!

They don't no "SHIT"..About what REAL GIRL HARD ROCK BAND BAD-ASS ROCK IS!

  • @XR0ck3rChickX I hate the way today that "anyone" can be called a rockstar, even when the preform pop music. I really hate that, i wish i could go back in time so badly. I was born in the 90's so i did catch some good music. To bad they don't know what that is nowadays

  • This is the greatest music video EVER!!!!

  • My socks..... yeah, They are so ROCKED! EPIC!

  • I fucking hate my mom for raising me on The Spice Girls and 80's pop. This is REAL music!

  • i fucking hate our generation.

  • @lajne96 fucking love you for saying that.

  • @lajne96 you know why you don't like your generation? Because its full of people like you who have given up on it. Why do you think there was so much change in those that came before us? because people didnt bitch and complain and wish they were born earlier, they got the fuck up and did something about it, they made change happen instead of just wishing it would happen on its own.

  • @metart93 No, we don't like our generation because it's full of people who like RnB or other shit like this ;).

  • @lajne96 That's your right to hate it. i dont.

  • @lajne96 really?? i love it:) just look at the awesome diversity we have i wish i lived in the 80s but whatre ya gonna do?? just enjoy the microscopic awesomeness

  • @lajne96 haha, i know what ya mean!

  • @lajne96 me too my friend. me too

  • @lajne96 i feel ur pain -_-

  • BADASS BITCHES!!!!!! LET'S START A REVOLUTION!!!!!!!

  • man check out L7 for an all girls kick ass n roll music

  • WOMAN POWER !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @macksfischer I agree that these singers were Incredibly powerful in their music.

Every generation feels the next has so-called music, tho. Its all a matter of personal taste I suppose.

  • This IS rock n roll .... where did it go ???

  • @MaryNoel61 Lol, interesting question, thats how every generation feels. Rock and roll is still here, but it is different for each generation. Its a matter of personal opinion,it seems.

  • @macksfischer They had to have balls. It was hard enough for them to start off being an all females band without the pressure.

  • @TrizerFlame Lol,I dont think they had to have balls. they were pretty awesome w/out them. But your point is pretty good.

  • sparklejems526 dude i feel u what i would do to get to live in this era of time alll the best rock came back then ehh we missed it now today its all freakin bullshit rap lmao wtf PUNK real fuckin punk ROCK is where its at

  • them fellas is scary!

  • I love this song! Haha

  • @1XWildRebelQueenX1 doesnt it just make you want to get crazy!

  • @TheNayNay826 Ha, my friends say this song describes me because I play guitar and I've always hung out with more guys than girls :)

  • @1XWildRebelQueenX1 me too. I have always gotten along with men more than woman.

  • @TheNayNay826 Interesting. I've always enjoyed hanging w/both sides. And I've found even some guys that prefer to hang out w/girls rather than w/other guys

  • @fieryrainysky i dont blame you..i know how woman can be jelaous and traders.

  • @TheNayNay826 Lol,true. However I have seen jealousy and traitors on the boys side as well.

To me,its not the gender that is bad its the individual. Both genders have their good and bad traits.

  • @fieryrainysky I agree completely. these chicks make me want to put my leather pants on and go to a bar!!! no shit man lol

  • @TheNayNay826 do it!! i mean y not? we need people like u to help bring this all back yo. u only got one life, so jus do it

  • @TheNayNay826 Lol,I cant exactly say that any chick would make me want to go drink.

And I dont quite know if you mean the chicks singing make you want to go to a bar or just girls in general. Sorry if I seem a tad confused by what you mean.

  • @1XWildRebelQueenX1 I dont mind either side. both have there own ups and downs.

  • @fieryrainysky Well, yeah. I hang out with some girls now, too. Guys are just easier to get along with for me. :)

  • I would pole joan jet.

  • Love

  • OK

  • Cherie: Beautiful then nad beautiful now

Joan: Bad ass then bad ass now

Lita: A BITCH thenand well.... still a bithch but still pretty cool (:

  • I am the bitch with the hot guitar xD xD xD

  • This is good.

  • it musta been nice to rock out back then. ..

they didnt have super rad camera lenses and blue ray and giant tv screens and 50 million magazines and tv channels.

  • FUCK NEW MUSIC!!!! this is the real shit right here

  • it's time for a runaways reunion!!!!!

    Who would be the drummer????

  • I should have been a teenager in the 70's.

Music back then kicked ass. Not like the manufactured, fake shit these days (excluding the awesome indie bands and shizz of course ;P)...

We live in a Primark, leggings and Ugg boots kind of world...I hate it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Socotrine Nevertheless, I agree with 7thWombat. Indie bands are the only viable music source still making more than decent music comparable to this.

  • @7thWombat don't forget the artifical ignorance (bleaching your hair blonde)

  • @7thWombat Me too! Wish i was a 70's teen! off to make a time machine!

  • @Kickylou22 OK, I'm glad to see I'm not alone !

  • @7thWombat you should watch Dazed and Confused... the quintessential 70's movie

  • @freighter014 umm...........yeah, that was made in the nineties

  • @Mocknbird2 dude.. just watch it. it takes place in the 70's.

  • @7thWombat Thats an interesting comment. Every generation has those that hate the style of the next generation. There were those that lived In the 70's that hated the fashion & music & felt that music was hippie and disco trash missed the music of the generations before it & there were even leggings in the 70's. I suppose its all a matter of personal taste. I like every kind of era an style b/c each has its own flair.

  • @fieryrainysky The 70s didn't have a style, you can't fit FLOYD, ACDC, PRIEST, YES, RUSH, AEROSMITH, and SABBATH and state the 70s had a style. The great variety of music styles is what made the 70s such a great decade for music. The same cannot be said of the other decades.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s Yes you can fit all those bands into a style. They all had a distinct manner of expression that fit the era. All of them catered to wide ranges of sounds and instruments that represented the freedom of expression that came w/the decade. Each decade has their own form of expression and thusly their own style.

  • @fieryrainysky I'm not quite sure if a collection of bands with distinct vocal, instrument, and writing could be classified as one type of style. Yes, there was freedom. Bands like Devo, Tubeway Army, Edgar Winter Group, War, and Hawkwind, etc. had little in common with ACDC, Aerosmith, or Sabbath. I would define it more as the culture of music during a particular decade.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s The fact that they all came from the a similar era and that most of the songs held alot of the same common ideas of the decade, whether that idea was to rebel, speak out or just to party. Each band. Every song reflects the feelings of each generation and that's what makes it a style.

  • @fieryrainysky Style is how someone goes about communicating those ideas. In what way is ACDC similar to Yes or Pink Floyd? How is Devo similar to Sabbath? List the common ideas that were similarly communicated by ACDC, DEVO, SABBATH, AND CROSBY STILLS AND NASH. The 70s also had Disco, Love songs, Funk, Southern Rock, and Folk.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s Each of those bands went about communicating their ideas in various ways. Style is relative to the individual. They are similar b/c the spoke of the feelings of the Era they were playing for. They were not similar to each other.

  • @fieryrainysky Isn't a style by definition based on a unique way of doing something? I guess what your getting at is that they were similar in that they all were creatively expressing their views, interests, or themes expressed during their Era.

  • @chroniclerofthe70s Style by definition is a particular kind, sort,or type,as with reference to form appearance or character. And yes how they all reflected the Era they were in,as every musician does,is what I was referring.

  • Like if you were totally born in the wrong generation like me!!
