Hands down, the closest thing to paradise that you'll find in the continental United States. Year round perfect weather, culture, concerts, community, the beach, good food, manageable traffic, nice people... what the fuck else could you want out of a town? And it's not CHEAP but it isn't expensive... I hate that they're bringing in chains on Main St., though. The independent businesses are what give it its charm, I can go to a strip mall for Jersey Mike's.

2008 was the best time in ventura i moved away in 2009 and came back late 2010 and alot has changed not as laid back as it use to be, not as nice anymore either dont get me wrong its still great but its getting to big.

The Avenue is a pale shadow of what Ventura is. I disregard it as actually being part of the city. To me it's like a shit sandwich between the awesomeness of Ventura and Ojai.

I was born in Ventura 1960. My Grandparents moved to Ventura in the 1940's. I haven't been to Ventura since July of 1995. I will visit soon.
