  • BLALLGLALALGGLGLA! It is taking dark gray pieces fucking forever to dye!

  • could not get this to works at all, I tried white, yellow and pink legos none would even barely turn black. Am I doing something wrong I bought the liquid Rit black dye didn't think that would make a difference, does it?

  • That is pure genus...

  • thanks man it really works

  • this might sound stupid, but would it work with knex?

  • How much does rit cost?

  • damn i wish i known this before i bought paint dye does look better

  • OMG

  • Ha he stained the towel :D

  • @ xavi 9685 they already make black on black for the iPhone I own a 3 witch I use for vids and the otter box keeps it good.

  • Thanks:)

  • thank you now I can make a paradox alien and a assembly sabertooth

  • i would like to know if this method would work with the polycarbonate plastic from an otterbox case????

  • Well now I need to find something to dye....

  • Did the dye stain the pot?

  • @optimalprime2170 Nope. Besides, the inside of the pot was black anyway.

  • i need pink dye to make kirby =3

  • Wait so where do u get the rit dye?

  • good idea but why not just use a sharpy marker?

  • does this work on any lego piece lets say... a clone trooper helmet?

  • @TH3M4STERM4N Yes.

  • @IXRollOutIX thanks for the tip hers something for you troubles

  • Wow, good idea. I have always wondered if there was a good way to change a lego piece's color.

Something you didn't mention in the video, do you let the dye-water cool down at all (so you don't melt the plastic), or is the hot water not a problem.

  • @orionsswords As long as you keep the water at a simmer, the plastic wont melt.

  • @orionsswords ive baked legos in an oven and microwaed them and they didnt melt

  • Seems this would work best if changing a white brick's color.

  • @Shredscope The best part about it is that Rit dye only costs about $2.00 and can be used to dye a whole POUND of bricks. Also, It's not a top coat so the brick is the same exact size and shape - therefore - it will not hinder hinge joints or even stud friction.

  • lol i just spray my peices black it works to

  • @ninjabrickmaster234 I explained how this method is far better. You don't have to worry about scratching or wear.

  • Does this dye only work for lighter coloured lego pieces?

  • @BlockBusterStudios1 Only if the color you want it I darker than the color you have now.

  • Very good tutorial! I always wanted to know how to properly dye a lego!

  • thank for this now i can change the colours of my bricks

  • thanks for the how to but do you know if this will work on things like gundam models of transformer weapons?

  • @ProdigyTransformer Rit makes Navy Blue, Light Blue, Green, Red, Grey, and all sorts of other colors. They all take the same exact steps to accomplish.

  • wow, anybody can do that, all u got to do is burn your lego on fire and its black

  • And I was just wondering today ..(How ANd what would I Dye My Lego Pieces)..Thanks good Idea.

  • Helpful info! This may be useful if I ever want to customize some toys! Are there any colors which this dye will not work on though?

  • @OptimusSmyth Not particularly. The only real restriction is that you can't go from dark colors to light colors. However, white can be dyed ANY color imaginable.
