  • This kind of love is hard to find

I never got to you by being kind

If I'm the one to throw you overboard

At least I showed you how to swim for shore

When you're down is where you'll know yourself

That if you drown there's nothing else

When you're lost you need to find yourself

Then you'll find out that there's no-one else

  • Vraiment magnifique. En souvenir de Mr Richard Wright. We miss you so much.

  • Comment removed

  • @isolatedyear He really has blessed him. I hope that David knows that. Such talent can only come from God.

  • tavarich

  • 7 people don't know what planet they're on.

  • wow!i never Knew this man was this talented..i am truley amazed but not surprized!!

  • EH....FENOMENALNE...:))))

  • This is heaven...

  • If David Gilmour put a rubber band between his teeth he could play Beethoven , In my humble opinion Gilmour is the best there ever has been and possibly will be , he deserves the credit and I'd cry listening to him play the kazoo . David Gilmour makes my soul reverberate and my chest hurt , the best ever period .

  • @Earrot you mean the girl period :D??? XD, just kiddin, its not a safe place to expose your feelings this interweb

  • @Earrot i could not possibly agree with you more. David is my lifelong hero since i learned about pink floyd in 78. I had the priviledge to meet him in miami in 87 during the momentary lapse of reason tour and the memory will live in my heart forever. god put him on this earth for a specific reason.

  • @Earrot super like

  • @Earrot bravo sir, bravo

  • @Earrot Well said!

  • wot a fukin nob you are nsmadsen, pikky twat

  • @majaffalapp - read my comments and think about what I'm saying. I'll even do the inverse (that means backwards or opposite majaffalapp): I'm a professional saxophonist who can play some guitar. I have a nice guitar and can do several chords, finger pick and somewhat solo. While I could play some songs on my guitar and give a decent concert, I would never claim to be a proficient (pro) guitarist. I doubt that Gilmour would claim to be a proficient saxophonist. Get it? It's not that hard.

  • @gmusicbreath I have two degrees in music, a bachelors and masters degree both focused on the saxophone. I've been playing saxophone for 18 years and have taught it for 6. And my comment wasn't an attack on Gilmour himself but an observation that if you add enough reverb it can hide imperfections. I think even Gilmour would openly admit he's not a great saxophonist. Not when you compare him to Coltrane, Bird, Paul Desmond, Cannonball, Gerry Mulligan, Sonny Stitt, Bradford Marsaslis, etc.

  • @nsmadsen I think people shouldnt get to offended by your comment .. David actually only has been playing the sax for 2 - 3 years. I read that somewhere. I Just think that he is such a legend that if he wants to learn a new instrument and add to his talents then thats what music should really be all about .. Evolving! His soul just pours out such beautiful sounds and arrangements .. By far my favorite artist ever

  • @LJMO85 Exactly right! I'm all for musicians learning new instruments and evolving! I think Gilmour is a fantastic musician.

  • @LJMO85 Well put and I agree 100%.

  • @gmusicbreath You're an idiot. I AM a professional saxophone player, composer and musician and the sax playing here truly isn't anything great. He sounds like someone that has been playing for about 2-3 years only. I think Gilmour is a fantastic musician and singer but he's not a great saxophonist. It's not ego that states this - it's experience and knowledge.

  • @nsmadsen unfortunately you gargle balls

  • @PutItAway101 What are you, 13? Is that the best you could come up with?

  • gilmour , just way to cool

  • I hate englishmen cause they ruled over us and made us suffer for 200 years. But I forgive you, because Dave Gilmour gave us more pleasure, a pleasure for eternity. Britane, u shd be proud of David. Cheers from India

  • it's new to me too see the man with a saxophone.....! Great job David!

  • i believe david gilmour is a genius, i regret never seeing him live.

  • I cannot believe he plays sax as well!?! going to start practising NOW!!

  • Further proof that plenty of reverb can make even an amatuer saxophonist sound halfway decent. Nothing really special though....

  • @nsmadsen He's basicly a guitar player. It's a performance that he plays saxo and drums. You are so blinded by your ego.

  • @nsmadsen We can't wait to see your video of how much better at playing musical instruments YOU are compared to David Gilmour. You should do it to prove your point. That, I'm pretty sure, would be "nothing really special".

  • @technocrash09 There's already plenty of videos on my youtube channel that showcase my work. All you have to do is click my name. From there I have links to my actual website but as you probably already know you cannot post URLs in comments. So I'll try to walk you through it in a way I CAN post:

Go to my website. Click on the DEMO tab then on the MUSIC tab. On the second row there is a song "A long ride..." click that to hear my alto as well as two over is 30 Pieces. I have more I can share.

  • @technocrash09 I love David Gilmore but it's not just Him playing it that makes it so wonderful not just his musical skills on the saxophone.,It is the song it's so beautiful when I hear it it becomes a warm summers night with tooly fog and lingering curls of smoke with a feeling of well being, this song shares with the listener a Feeling it makes us feel something maybe different to everyone but still it makes us feel something.

  • I'm assuming sax is not this guy's main instrument.

  • AHI ESTA UN VERDADERO MAESTRO....NUNCA PARA DE APRENDER Y DE CRECER!!!

  • i hate the sax. but after hearing this, now i love it, thx david, ur the best.

  • the 7 ppl that dislike it, do the world a favor and kill yourself kk??

  • All through school my music teacher told me the alto sax was the biggest piece of shit instrument you could play. Well fuck you music teacher thanx Dave

  • your music teacher wasnt well or drunk

  • such amazing music, this song gave me the chill's

  • Orgasm for my ears!! Beatifull no words!

  • Man can play anything!! AMAZING!

  • is a well known fact that guitar does not have the same posibilities of "expression" (i refer by this the technical word) as the sax... the amazing thing is that Gilmour puts the same expression that can be achieved in sax into guitar... in other words: the fact that he plays the sax like this forces you to recognize his outstanding technical work on guitar

  • @PainHoleBurn Ive gotta disagree. I think being talented enough, you can express any feeling through a guitar. And alot of guitar players (john frusciante) play the keyboard as well as guitar, not because the find they're limited by the guitar..., but because it allows for more creation on the fret board!

  • @mrtamus

+1 mr Tamus .... I too use the piano myself to figure out new chord progressions and changes on tracks I am working on with the guitar. I don't find either of them inhibiting, but it's (easier) to jump from one octave to the next.

    peace

  • i want Pink Floyd back, dear god.

  • @thaGiLe Tis a shame that's never gonna happen now with Richard Wright's death.. which is such a fucking shame...

  • I received a few chills when I saw Rick playing the keys here...

I can only begin to think of how much respect and love they shared throughout their time together. I'm so glad to see just the two of them doing something as beautiful as this. This is amazing.

  • I love David Gilmour, and I'm thrilled to see him playing sax. It's not that he's a great sax player. He's not. What's amazing is that he has such an incredible sense of melody and timing, he can take an instrument he's not very good at and make it sound extraordinary. As both a saxophonist, and a guitarist heavily influenced by Gilmour's work, I really love this!

  • Gilmour is my hero, I would not be the musician I am today without him. IMHO one of the greatest guitarists of all time, along with Jimi. Peace

  • This is so Pink Floyd it is freaken great!

  • This man is so feaken talented it is unreal!!!!!!!!

  • what kind of sax is he playing? exactly an alto sax in f? or what?

  • @tonato17 Bb

  • fantastic! overban you are a goon..

  • GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS HE INSPIRE PEOPLE WITH HIS MUSIC LOOOOOONG LIFE FOR D.G

  • @javidah david cannot die he is god

  • ooooooooooooooh

  • getting wireman tattoo tomorrow!

  • Gilmour looks immortal when he plays guitar, but he does look much older playing sax. Sounds brilliant, but looks hunched over.

  • Does anyone know how much tickets for this were?

  • hi everybody i just come back on this video to remark that the EXTREME SMALLNESS of the sax mr David Gilmour, former member of the Pink Floyd London based rock'n'roll band, is extremely dangerous for his own health and however i can accept that there's a red light on it is equally evident that he is getting red in the face because of the EXTREME effort of inflating. Also the volume would gain in richness.

    ARTISTS ARE TOTALLY CRAZY

    ...

  • @overban888 WTF????

  • Javidah, I was thinking the same thing, please David have a long life, God Bless you!!! Regards from Nicaragua, Central America.
