A Bonanza that has nothing to do with, ironically, Bonanza.... just because we can´t link the descendants to their fathers, we didn´t watch them growing or so.. as I said is like the new Karate Kid, that instead of learning Karate he learns Wushu (Kung Fu)...

@lismir71 this is the only way it could be done. By 1993 Dan Blocker, Lorne Greene and Michael Landon had all died(in 1972,1987,and 1991 respectively) and recasting the roles would've been heresy. The only thing I'd change is making the head of the Ponderosa Ranch Candy Canaday as he was a regular toward the end of the series.

The producers of this are stupid, they only sought to make money with Bonanza, and to continue without the actors, just killed them. What morons! Ideally, all three had lived to raise their children and meet their grandchildren. Producers stupid, that history should be rewritten.

Good question? I think maybe the writers should have done a little more research when writing these Bonanza movies. Although I just take them for what they are, the first one, "The Next Generation" from 1987 was terrible and the prequel TV series "Ponderosa" from 2001 was even worse. Oh well, I guess I am just being a little too critical.

I am guessing he must have returned at one time or another because AC does say that the last time Bronk saw him that "I was a lot shorter then, but just as handsome." I could go along with them coming back for Joe and Ben's funerals as you say because that would make sense.

I must say, you sure do ask interesting questions. I am going to guess Joe died first because, according to story line in Bonanza, The Return, he supposedly died in a battle fighting with Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders on the charge up San Juan Hill in Cuba. That battle was fought in 1898. See Sara Cartwright video. I will check into when Ben supposedly died.

Thank you! It makes me so sad that Adam left, so I was really hoping he spent some more time with his family. I know they mentioned an almost-visit in the 8th season, but I wasn't sure if he really did before they died. It sounds like it with this video, but I hope I'm right.

Actually, if you check out the Ben Cartwright video, his grave stone says he died in 1899, so he guess he did go after Little Joe.
