  • This is probably my favourite track on that album. It is such a painful yet powerful story. I get goosebumps every time when he sings "Fetch me the Spirit, the Son and the Father, tell them their pillar of faith has ascended... Give me my wings." I love the video too. The choice of images is relevant and, I think, respectful to the lyrics

  • Is this video from Belgrade?

  • Oh,dear Perfection!

  • I've seen him live 3 times sing this song and cannot get enough of it.

  • whats the real name of this song?

  • @TheAbdulah99Comedy this is the real name (10 000 days)

  • i can not see the cauntion with his mom but its very sud but god music big hugs joe

  • @TheJosephca I'm assuming you mean connection when you say "cauntion." The subtitle of the song is Wings for Marie and his mother's name was Marie. "10,000 days in the fire" is a direct reference to 27 years of suffering. This is an incredible story of someone who challenged religion through song for years and being confronted with the power of his mother's faith in the face of continual struggle and death. And then wrote a song about this tension. Or at least that's my interpretation.

  • well dun good sould wish icoudld spel and tipe

  • @TheJosephca lol Thanks! It's all good, Bro.

  • @TheJosephca no need for that wish, its a wonder how you can still make sense with those words, who needs perfection anyway, made sense to me :)

  • Hey people, if you like 10,000 Days...check out my 46 & 2 vid. Could use some feedback (and more views) on that one as well. Peace! :)

  • Great video!

  • @rashofbeatings Thanks! :)

  • Anyway, ask the Lord for mercy, even if you feel you're a fuck up and will continue to be. I am and I do. It doesn't matter if you think he's fair or the teachings make sense to you. He's God and, though invisible to us, unless you believe Christ was one of the Trinity, no one else's deity or favorite celebrity like Penn and Teller or Amazing Randy (who made Alice Cooper's tricks' props) has made statues cry&Lourdes's cures that cannot be explained away by scientists or huckster exposers.

  • @fool1shmortal I would probably question my faith in that situation if in his shoes, but I've had it seriously tested in my own situation. Our life is not to be lived for this world and the suffering of the devout for God (allowing it to happen, probably to offer it up for His glory) will gain them a higher reward in the afterlife.

  • @fool1shmortal Even if you can't believe, just know that is what Christians want and what the true religion teaches, as Christ taught--that we live outside of time, after physical death, which is practically forever for us, in pure bliss.

  • amazing work videos like this hypnotize me and the music just hits me *_* inhale exhale enjoy :D

  • @SuicideSpelly Thank you very much. Glad it could "chill you out", bubba. :)

  • anyone else thinks it basically depicts our Lord Jesus Christ ..I dont know just me maybe

  • @NewWorldCorp Hmm... Close! (In my mind...) I was thinking about someone/anyone (maybe Maynard's Mother) finally meeting their maker after suffering years and years of pain.

  • @NewWorldCorp it's about maynard's mother. she was paralyzed and survived 10,000 days until she finally passed away. judith (APC) was about her too, as her name's Judith Marie (listen to the lyrics in this song). listen to these songs and what they're saying and you can probably deduce his contempt for 'religion' in general. anyhow, 10,000 is a very moving and POWERFUL testament to his mother's faith, and he finally letting her go. sends chills up my spine every time i hear it.

  • @jozeph69 We're all hypocrites. That's our nature. It's hypocrisy to call others hypocrites as if you're not one. We are all inconsistent at some point. It seemed his mother was religious. Many are called; few are chosen. Maybe she was the latter.

  • @fool1shmortal It should have been @NewWorldCorp.

Anycase, We cannot ascend by our own means, as he says his mother did, but we must participate in the grace. We must want it, but we must recognize the source that does it. It's not found in that occultic art and philosophy. We cannot remain creatures of the world. Even real Buddhists believe binding feelings can hold us from salvation. Real Christianity teaches the way to participate. From God, it's foolproof--free of our fancies.

  • Good work on the video. It turned out great!

  • @65kwin Thanks! Appreciate it. :)

  • Tech N9ne- Mama Nem (wonderful mother song)

Of Mice and Men- Second and Sebring (Beautiful mother song)

Tech N9ne- Show me a God (compelling mother song)

Tool- 10,000 days (Best mother song ever created)

  • @KoRnSlipFold I'm probably gonna get ripped for saying this because most people that visit this page probably think they're shit, but I've always been partial to a bootleg Blind Melon song called "Mother". The problem with Blind Melon is everyone writes them off because of that shitty ass "No Rain" song; by far their worst song. If you like solid vocals and acoustic music do a youtube search for Blind Melon's Mother. It's no 10000 Days but I think it's a great track...and it's about moms.

  • @kovalevisgod I could empathize with "No Rain" though. I think many can.

  • @fool1shmortal Agreed. In all truth I'm a Blind Melon fan so I give them a free pass on the song "No Rain". If you listen to their debut album, No Rain actually fits in well within the framework of the album. However lots of people have utter disdain for No Rain because every single bar would play it along with songs like "Mr. Jones and Me" and drive real music fans batshit. Wasn't a bad song all in all. Just totally overplayed (if you were in your teens/twenties during the 90's).

  • @fool1shmortal Bottom line, I feel a little stupid for even bringing up Blind Melon on a message board for a Tool video...especially one as brilliant as this. Love the bit where Chancellor is shredding that bass. So underrated.

  • @kovalevisgod That's a very kind compliment. Thank you. And I agree with the "Chancellor" scene. Justin is awesome.

  • Amazing. That was the CD version of the track right? Not live? And thanks for making this video.

  • @spkilledme Hey, thank you as well. Glad you liked it. And yes, the music is the studio version synced (as close as I could get it) to the live footage.

  • @drummah68 Alotta work then. Thank you.

  • I love how Tool can make a song that's over 11 minutes long yet it still builds and builds and gets more powerful as it progresses until the crescendo...and then almost what I would consider a 2-minute epliogue at the end. Brilliant.

  • @kovalevisgod Oh, I know! That's one of the main reasons why I dig their tunes so much. That and the timeless yet totally syncopated rhythms that paint perfectly with the melody and Maynard's chilling vocals. Brilliant indeed.

  • @drummah68 This is the coolest song dedicated to a mom that I've ever heard. You can tell this song was really important to Maynard in the album's production. Seems like they may have spent a little extra time on this track.

  • @kovalevisgod hehe They spend A LOT of time on their tracks. Every album is musical perfection.

  • @kovalevisgod You're great! I think the same. They're just fucking amazing!

  • i don't like how tool is so dark

  • @PenguinCookies94 i don't like how your so blind

  • @DigitalEulogy <------ Agrees with...

  • @PenguinCookies94 wtf, dark?! more like enlightening, i understand that your scared of what you dont understand......

  • @Z1LT01D that was dick

  • @PenguinCookies94 Okay, you don't like Tool, fine but keep the negativity off my page, please. If you have anything intelligent to say, say it. Otherwise, fuck off and go listen to "Shiny, Happy People".

  • @drummah68 what the fuck? you don't have to be an asshole. i like tool but i think they're dark, ok?

  • i fucking love the storm in the background!! just so awesome

  • @repomayne I agree. Cool stuff. Moving, brooding and intense.

  • @FuckYourGodYourLord Yeah, I know! They sang "Muhammed, my friend". A little out of my wheelhouse but, a great tune nonetheless.

  • @drummah68 Yes sir. I'm a drummer. Seems like numbers and their relation to our lives is a big theme for Tool. Polyrhythms might be a testament to that. Danny Carey is playing his polyrhythmic beat meanwhile Adam's riff is in 4/4? and Justin plays a completely unique time sig. 4 way poly

  • @stfuNsmokethis Yep. You're a membranophoner! hehehe VERY well put. Keep playin', bro. You think Danny is "Peart" influenced?

  • @stfuNsmokethis I'm not sure where you get the impression that they care about numbers. 10,000 days is the exact number of days Judith Marie spent afflicted with her illness before she died. That's all it stands for. Forty six and 2 is a genetics reference.

  • Greetings from Canada, and thank you for the video(720p!). Intriguing choice of image blending. My 10,000 day on earth, if I have done my math correctly, will fall on my fathers birthday this May(the 1st). Strange and amazing time to be alive, no?

    Cheers.

  • @lkjh4433 Greetings back, ay? :) Thanks for the nice comment. It IS a strange time, BUT now is the time to live life like your last (10,000th) day on earth. And if it lands on your Dad's B-day, then you have all the more reason to live ANOTHER 10,000 days. Got it?

  • @drummah68 Yes of course. Saturn ascends the one the ten.

I was more musing/mumbling how interestingly compelling the strangeness of our contemporary lives can seem at times. Thanks again, and hopefully you can make it out to a show in the near future if you haven't already.

  • @Detonationsdetektor Nun, ich danke Ihnen sehr mein Freund. Gut, dass Sie mochte es.

  • cool vid! going to see them tonight in boston!

  • @purerockfury71 Doh! I saw them on the Lateralus tour. Awesome. Have fun, man!

  • What a beautiful polyrhythm

  • @stfuNsmokethis Well said. (thumbs up!) You a drummer?

  • @stfuNsmokethis xD, nice nickname

  • @stfuNsmokethis hehe Thanks.

  • I love the true passion in this, I get goosebumps everytime. RIP Judith.

  • @GTZs10er Yeah, amazing song! I shed a tear when I realized it was about his Mom. And yes, may she rest in peace.

  • Amazing love it

  • @killamorakrews Thank you. :)

  • RIP Judith Marie Keenan

  • @pi45 Indeed. May she rest in peace.

  • !!!!!!!!!

  • F*****g amazing man!... Keep em´ coming!... ^^

  • @killyanowandfast32 Yeah! Thanks, Man!!! I'm workin' on it, I'm workin' on it! lol Any requests?

  • aw I love tool, they make people get creative as hell! I never seen so many home made videos for any other band xD Its good by the way ^_^

  • In the video thumbnail it looks as though there's a statue of a horse in an apocalyptic setting. I soon saw this wasn't the case but it's still an excellent video nonetheless, one of the best. Awesome work.

  • @BossHossGT500 Hey, thanks for the nice compliment. :) But, I think you're looking at my Beksinski video perhaps? That one does have an image of which you're speaking of. And thank you again.

  • @drummah68 Your Beksinski video was excellent, but I did not see the image that I saw in this video's thumbnail.

I guess it might just be the way the live footage plays against the images that made the horse statue that I saw.

  • @BossHossGT500 Hmm, I guess so. Damn, I have to watch it again now to see if I see it! lol

  • Awesome!

  • @dont138 Thanks! :)

  • There are apparently 3 people that need serious help...

  • "I've come home now!

Fetch me the spirit, the son, and the father.

Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended.

    It's time now!

    My time now!

Give me my, give me my wings!"

  • @drummah68 sounds like illuminati bullshi to me

  • @TheAbdulah99Comedy what are you talking about?

  • '][' {[]} {[]} ][_

  • @hyperkriegs Nice! I like it. :)

  • Discrimination hurt it HURTS

  • @amsterdo ???

  • Good video!!! I hope to see more from you!

  • @SororQuaestorLucis Thanks! I'm working on one right now. A a little stuck though.

  • @drummah68 You'll get it though... Good music is meant to be heard, and its nice to actually have a good video to watch.

  • @SororQuaestorLucis Hey, now that's a very nice thing to say. Thank you very much. I'm flattered.

  • That one poor soul that disliked...... -1

  • @ChipotleObsessor Yes, but the one who noticed in a concerning way...makes up for it. :) Thanks.....I think. hehe

  • tool na koncercie to karma dla duszy

  • @wawel1973 No mówiąc, mój przyjacielu.

  • no idea, how much I appreciate this work you've done here.

  • @Cruzifixer Hey, thank you, very much. I have others but the unfortunate "copyright" bug likes to bite me in the neck! lol Thank you again.

  • Sweet job man!

  • @bushkey Thanks! :)

  • I didn't think he stole it, notes are way different, it just reminded me of that intro, glad you guys figured it out. Usually no one ever gets my obscure Primus references hehehe. PRIMUS SUCKS!

  • @drummah68

He's referring to a song from the band PRIMUS.

It begins very similarly to this. If you listen to it, you

might just wonder if Justin stole it from Les Claypool.

    ; ]

  • @British0Pixie Hmm. I didn't know that. My info is from some other "tuber's" page actually. Guess I he was mis-informed. Thanks for the re-adjust. :) And I'm VERY familiar with Primus. Remember...THEY SUCK!!! lol Never saw them though.

  • @drummah68

    (lol)

No worries love. Just trying to help out I suppose.

I didn't mean anything negative by that but yeah

Southbound Pachyderm is a really good song by

Les and his mates. -and NO, I don't think seriously

that Justin stole the riff. = ]

Enjoy your holiday weekend love, cheers! = ]

  • @British0Pixie Thank you very much. :) You two. Stay safe and have drink on me!

  • The pulsating bass riff is straight out of Floyd's 'One Of These Days'

  • @carlacostantino Yeah, I can hear that. Somewhat familiar. But not the same at all. Different ear, I guess. :)

  • Tool is one of the most incredible bands, which influenced me till today.

  • @filzwurm I agree. They truly are one of a kind. Great sound, awesome lyrics and one hell of a show. Is it true that a few members are(were) film students?

  • @drummah68 ya,Adam Jones their guitarist was.

  • 0:00 - 0:30 = southbound pachyderm? lol.

  • @Zen3y3 Okay, okay. I got it now. lol Just listened to the song and I can see what you(both) mean. Hmm. I don't think Justin's a plagiarist though.
