Her being so great at 13 makes me wonder if girls should only be allowed to compete senior after 16... I think 14 could have stayed as the age limit :/

@91andRWforever I think they should keep the age limit where it is, it puts the girls at less risk in my mind. 16 just gives them more time to mature, I know 2 years doesn't seem a lot but I was much more mature at 16 than I was at 14 as were most people I knew. I suppose it's a balancing act between giving them enough time to mature and being over-protective.

Please, stop comparing her to Shawn or Carly.

Shawn has disgusting gymnastics, Carly is just plain boring.

Jordyn doesn't have my favorite presentation but she has huge power and solid execution, even if I don't like her style, she's better than both Carly and Shawn. However, she's not my favorite gymnast ATM, that would be Grishina, or maybe Porgras.

i cant stand the fact that Elfi and Tim are making a huge deal over Jordyn doing the standing full to back tuck connection when Sam Peszek was doing this for years and they rarely said a word about it. Elfie and Tim definitely pick their favorites to promote them accordingly.

yeah. shawn didn't have a planche, front aerial, side somi, or combination dismount. the dismounts themselves were also different. besides, people think not hitting splits is unique to shawn...it's not. all the american girls fail to hit their splits

yeah, she's more carly paterson and shawn johnson. she does do the standing full in better than shawn in terms of hieght of chest when landed but thats cuz she's so much lighter than shawn. shawn just has so much more raw natural power. cas in point, shawn does 2 back handsprings to a layout. the hieght of that layout is so high as are the amplitude of her leaps.

skills don't belong to anyone. the only big skill on beam that they have in common is the standing full. tons of gymnasts other than shawn johnson have performed that skill

She's been compared to Shawn but Jordyn's got Shawn beat in the flexibility department. Her leaps are excellent. Much better than Shawn and she's got tougher moves than Nastia. Still a diamond in the rough be she's only 13. Her presentation can only improve with time.

Well, she's younger so therefor more flexible. Plus Shawn was growing and every gymnast knows what that does to your muscles.

If you look at Shawn when she's younger she hits her split positions in her leaps.

I think she just had a badly timed growth spurt at the olympics.
