the leader of the dominion would not send reinforcements to aid sarah. So after she was over run the zerg captured her and put her in a cacoon mutating her in to a zerg. since she was a pshycic she had more powerful attacks like psi storm.

Storyline-wise, I think Alexei's death in Terran BW 7 was a major blow to the UED. He was the only one who knew enough not to destroy the first disruptor on Tarsonis and rebuild it on Braxis.

Well, after the amazing UED Campaign where they basically clamped down on everyone, there were a few major failures that took them down. They let Kerrigan destroy the disruptor in Zerg BW 2. Moria didn't fend off Kerrigan's raid for resources so she amassed enough to assault Korhal's main city (Storyline wise Fenix and Jim were attacking other areas of Korhal. ) then turned and killed them...THEN killed the Overmind for full control of the Zerg.

UED would have won if they woulda held disruptor.

I love how Dugalle chooses Death over Dishonor. They sort of set the UED up as villains, but I love how he died a hero. He even wanted to set terms of surrender in the last Brood War mission where his men would be allowed to live before Kerrigan said no. Like Raynor in the Sons of Korhal and Tassadar from the Protoss, Dugalle seemed to be the only good guy in an otherwise powerhungry and corrupt faction.

What I like about Starcraft, is with the possible exception of Raynor, and a handful of Protoss, pretty much all the characters are baddies, even if they are honorable and likable.

The goal of the overmind was to basically make the zerg perfect. The only reason he and the terrans came into conflict is because of their psionic energies. Though only a few of the terrans were actaully compatible with the zergs DNA. (terrans like Sarah who have high psionic powers.) I'm not sure what Kerrigans big plan is though...maybe the same thing? Maybe just universal domination?

The UED is my favorite faction, and I surely enjoyed serving the Overmind a lot more than Kerrigan while playing as Zerg.

The Overmind knew it needed an agent like Sarah to achieve its "perfection". None of its criatures or infected victims could trick the protoss and terrans into helping the swarm to seize the crystals, bring doom over Aiur, etc. After all, Sarah is its child as it called her.

Most see Sarah as a mindless villain, but if the Xel'Naga are so powerful and self-absorbed in their plans (as Duran points in that secret map), she probably would be the one and only worthy rival to the returning gods.

the zerg's only reason for attacking (at least it was truly so when the overmind and not kerrigan had the rule over the swarm) is to assimilate all forms of organic life into the swarm- so is every creature and form the zerg are able to evolve into a mutated form of another race that was assimilated ago. that's the only reason why they attack humans, too. the mutated humans are the result of this- but i think they didn't except the mindpower of some of "us"/them, as they didn't do with kerrigan.
