Great Review of the omnia. I have been looking for an indep review and never found until now. I liked the phone before I saw your review and now I love the phone. I am currently a user of the Verizon wireless xv6700 from UTStarcom. Had it for 3 years now and it is about time for me to upgrade. I would like to make sure that it does have the 8 GB internal drive in it on top of the micro SD card that can be inserted. If you could answer that question for me.
so, for instance i have a 4 gig MicroSD memory card right? so i insert it through the back panel after i remove the battery, and now i have 12gig total memory on the phone.
as of right now, the Omnia is a leading phone for verizon in my opinion, with the 8g internal memory, wifi, 5.0 MP camera.. its awesome
I have the LG dare and the texting feature on it is AWESOME. It's got some other great features. but It isn't really a smart phone as it uses some LG dare firmware. but it's nice. sadly I dropped it in a sink and everything still works! but my battery wont hold a charge.. So I'm probably going to go to the omnia now since my contract wont be over for another year. I'd like to try something new.
hi,my name is Kim,im 16,have brown hair and no eyes.if you dont repost this to at least 5 videos,i will appear beside your bed at 9:00 P.M and kill you DONT R3AD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gonna need a data plan for any PDA really. I don't always have WiFi access nearby doing construction in remote areas. Having the other means I never have to do without. Worth every penny.
i was about to uprgrade to a omnia, untill verizon FORCED me to buy a min of $30 a month data plan, on top of my voice plan. LOL are you crazy verizon, or are you just stupid? thats so ridiclous
1)No Java, games and apps based on Java won't work.
2)No front camera, can't make video calls.
3)GPS exclusive to VZ Navigator cost $10/month.Won't work with google maps, windows live search, garmin. If want it to work with other GPS software you have to buy a GPS receiver.
4)close "x" and other soft keys on the corner need to be pressed harder.
5)GUI is bad, need to buy expensive GUI and keyboard.
i have the storm and im sad to say that its a horrible phone. restarts itself atleast 3 times a day. UI is really slow. the auto correct on the messaging isnt very smart. granted that if the they improved the software on the phone it would be an amazing phone. cause the camera, video, pictures, phone calls, speaker volume.. theyre all great. and the dare is just this phones baby brother. so id say this phone is your best bet.
yea if u get the $30 email and web Feauter for the omnia, u can use the internet unlimited times, meaning there isnt a charge per MegaBytes or Kilobytes
Ok I just lied. Sorry. If you purchase the Omnia they are requiring a data plan of at least 29.99 through the website. I have not seen any such req so you may get away without it at a store.
No you do not need a "data" plan but you do have to at least be on Nationwide pricing that includes the ability to use the web but on a 1.99per Mb basis. As far as someones comment about there contract ending and having had to do an upgrade keep in mind with VZW you can let your contract lapse and still keep your upgrade dates.
The Orginal Samsung Omnia i900 can "flick scroll" in Windows Mobile menus, but it was inculded in a later ROM update, unfair about Verzion version having that loud speaker at the back, is it any better to the i900 without that speaker at the back in terms of volume? (I should really watch the rest of the vid b4 commenting lol) nice review!

would highly recommend it. Amazon has the 16GB micro SDHC for about $50. That the largest it will take. I wouldn't have less than a 4GB.

DJBassEnergy 3 years ago
It's on Verizon. The phone is almost exactly the same.
hawkian 3 years ago
The only differences are these:
Omnia has Wifi
Omnia runs Windows Mobile 6.1
Omnia has 8 GB built in and Behold has 0.18 GB
Omnia has TV Out
Otherwise the Omnia and Behold are virtually the same except which network they run on.
