As much as I liked Chris and Ola, the fact that Ricky didn't win the Glitterball was a case of the much better dancer not getting his just reward. This is such a technically difficult dance. The lift where Ricky is spinning around with Natalie on his shoulders yet not even holding her is astonishing.

chria dserved 2 win coz this was good but it was mostly natalie doin loads of splits and showy pro stuff riccy just danced a bit and lifted natalie now and then but chris did more dancing and worked harder - he even did a handstand

Chris and Ola's were the best because the clue is in the word - Showdance - it's gotta be showy - be entertaining and funny just like Chris'. It was entertaining and he did loads of lifts too. But i don't mean to sound bad about Ricky's because it was good too and if I'm going to be honest i wanted Ali and Brian to win but since they went out I started supporting Chris more but I supported him alongside Ali.

Thing is is not a weight lifting competion we get that but its about showing what you can do thats better than the other person and he cearly did that i like chris and ola and im glad they got to the final but they didnt deserve to win, Hes an entertainer and he did improve but he didnt match up to Ricky.

Here's the thing, though: Tom Chambers won Strictly last year despite not being the best dancer (mostly on the strength of that show-dance he did, I reckon), and Darren Gough also won despite not being the best dancer.

Sometimes that's the way it goes.

i totally agree it should of been ali an ricky in the final! i wanted ricky to win, but it still wouldnt of been so bad if ali had won because she was very talented as well. Its about talent not the most popular person. I think the judges should have a say in who wins!

@brwnhoney Yes the judges should have a say. Had it been in previous years it would have been Ali and Ricky, but this year they took away the judges final say in the semi final. This was clearly all about the Benjamins, purely a financial , money making decision in my opinion.

I think it's good that the BBC take their voters into consideration. Why should one of the other couples go through and the publics votes be wasted? Surley the opinions of those who watch and therefore fund the show should count too.

yeah but it's not just about being a good dancer technically, it's about entertaining your audience, having an excellent partnership with your professional partner and going on a journey, and tghe personality is important because it makes you are care about the couples and want them to succeed. Ricky may have been the better dancer but at the end of the day Chris ticked more boxes than Ricky did.

if ricky was wooden how was he top of the leader board nearly every week then and chris was nearer the bottom? yeah cola had a fab personality but at the end of the day its caled 'strictly come dancing' not disrepect to cola fans but no-one is slagging them off the way some are with ricky, so he wasnt your favourite, hes done nothing to get those kind of comments posted about him. i bet hes a really nice genuine person!

There's one thing you can't get away from - RICKIE DID NOT GET THE VOTES - he wasn't the peoples favourite - so get over it and move on - Chris and Ola deserved their success and he was a far better ambassador for the series and the Country. PS - I do not live in England.

So you must have missed the PRO couple who danced a couple of weeks ago. They specialize in SHOWDANCE and guess what??? They did a whole lot of lifts. It's ok to like Chris, but don't think for a second that he deserved the title over Ricky. The show is meant to crown the best DANCER over all the weeks. Ricky was better over that time AND in the final. Don't be deluded friends. Lets all appreciate the great DANCING strictly offers us.

Ricky looked like he didn't improve because a) he made it look easy and effortless which is what good dancing is supposed to look like. and b) because he truly didn't have that much to improve upon. This isn't a weight lifting competition! This showdance is supposed to put together everything you've learnt through the show and bring out a burst of personality, which this doesn't do. Now Chris and Ola's shows styles of every kind of dance, along side fun and personality. Ricky could've done this week one... little improvement, i'm sorry. They're still good - but nothing on COLA's journey and achievement.

I do not believe he would have won it if he had not walked. John stayed in because the comments the Judges were making were just too over the top and nasty, no matter how terrible he was people just felt the over criticism was too much, which it was and that is where the judges went wrong and so I guess it was a vote against the judges rather than a vote to keep John in. Joe Calzaghe was the John Sergeant this year as was Craig Kelly not Chris. No comparisson

Chris is a great dancer and as far as skill goes Ricky just edged it. ENTERTAINMENT is a big word, Chris has a great personality, it would be insulting to say that Ricky didnt even have one as he did. This result is a joke, Ricky definitely should have won. I wished Natalie choreographed a better routine for Ricky that captioned the public more and didnt just relied on his strength. Maybe a Michael Jackson inspired routine that was fast and fun, which showed his personality. Im fed up of this competition being based on popularity! I think the comment about Ricky arrest are true; the public did stop supporting him after that. This result is a blood farce, it completely ruined by Birthday.

ok cool off everyone. let's settle something here as to why cola did and DESERVED to win. 1) They actually have personality 2) They were the most humble couple and always said how good the others were, with Ricky and Natalie it was always 'us us us' 3) Ricky was a good dancer from the start (suggesting previous dance experience) and had no IMPROVEMENT. COLA = the biggest improvement on the show. The british public always get it right - and COLA ARE OUR WINNERS!

Chris deserved to win and there is no Should of, about it for Ricky. Ricky may have been ahead with the skilll but with personality and entertainment Chris was miles ahead. Ricky could not do entertainment that is why Tom won it last year and Chris won it this year. They both had great skill but you may have thought that some contestants this year may have realised what it would take to win if Jade had not got injured I believe she would have won it as she seemed to have the whole package
